Chairperson’s Message by Shawn Stranathan
Spring is right around the corner…right? I like the season changes we see in Nebraska and I love to go skiing every winter, but this time of year I find myself looking forward to the arrival of spring and warmer weather. One sign we are getting closer is that we have another Home Show on the books. I’d like to offer a huge thank you to the HBAL staff who, with all their hard work before and during the Show, make it a success! I’d also like to thank all the vendors who devote their time and resources to participate in the Show every year. With the variety and number of exhibitors we have, this helps in getting people out of their homes and to the Show which benefits us all. This year, the Remodelers Council Food Bank House collected 3,556 pounds of food and $234 for the Food Bank of Lincoln. That equates to almost 3,665 meals for families in need. Thank you to all who donated food and/or time for this much-needed cause. We are looking forward to the Remodelers Council Meeting at Allo Communications on March 6. One of my personal favorite events is the Annual Chili Cook-off on March 11 at the Lincoln Firefighters Reception Hall at 241 Victory Lane at 6 pm. Also, just a reminder, the deadline for the Tour of Remodeled Homes is March 4. Thank you again to everyone who helped out or participated in this year’s Home & Garden Show. I look forward to seeing everyone at our March meeting.
