It’s hard to believe this year’s Remodelers Council events will soon be coming to an end with only two more meetings left on the schedule (November at Cornhusker Bank and the Christmas Party at Old Chicago in the Haymarket). Soon we’ll be able to announce the winner of the 2013 Attendance Prize, and also finalize the remarkable pictures of our member’s talents on the “Road to Success” poster board!

It was great to see everyone at our October meeting where we met at Brewsky’s for lunch followed by a tour of our great city’s newest addition, the Pinnacle Bank Arena. I hope everyone had a good time at the tour and were able to get some of your questions answered. I think the new arena is going to be a great venue to provide not only many types of entertainment for our city’s local and neighboring residents but also the possibility to host some of our community’s business conferences, or even just a pleasant space for a business lunch gathering. The possibilities are endless, and the arena’s staff seemed to be very willing and excited to accommodate!

“Me-too” marketing doesn’t cut it in today’s competitive marketplace. Your prospects are savvy and cynical -- and there’s always someone to undercut you. In this challenging environment, the traditional sales-and-marketing approach is Dead On Arrival. In this powerful, eye-opening session, you’ll discover practical, real-world strategies that you can use immediately in your building business. Here’s what you’ll learn: • The RIGHT way to get more word-of-mouth referrals • How to generate “buzz” for your business – without spending a fortune • The single most powerful word to use in your marketing (not ‘free’ or ‘you’) • A simple idea that cost only $4,800—but brought in nearly $750,000 in sales!

$50 for HBAL Members • $70 for Non-Members
Chances are, your construction business will soon include Baby Boomers (born 1946-1964), Generation X (60s and 70s), and Gen Y (1982-2000). They don’t just think, talk, and work differently -- they have different expectations of themselves, each other, and you. As the owner or manager, you are responsible for making it work… but how do you do that when your employees and subs come from different worlds? This session shows you how to “bridge the gap” --even between employees who are 40 years apart. • Understand the expectations of Boomers, Xers, and Yers regarding the 3 P’s: Policies, Promotions, and Personal space • Avoid becoming a Referee by encouraging employees to “intercommunicate” • Utilize the power of Recognition in your business across generational lines
RSVP for both classes and SAVE! • $80 for HBAL Members • $120 for Non-Members Registration form can be found at www.hbal.org/resources/education/
