Chairperson’s Message by Rick Willet
Wow, where did the summer go? Each year it seems to go by faster and here we are in fall and our busiest time of the year. Our experience is that our prospect leads really go up about a week after school starts. Everyone is wanting to get their jobs done before winter comes. Filling up our workload for the end of the year is usually easy. Then when we get closer to the holidays, prospect lead calls will be at the lowest level of the year, which will make filling our work schedule for winter much more difficult. If you experience this issue, the question is how do we combat this? I will share with you an idea that can produce the best return, but we sometimes forget to utilize: reach out to your past clients. Using social media or emails can be one effective way to reach out to past clients. But usually the best way is to call them personally and just check on how they are doing. Build a relationship with them by showing you care about them. Your customers will appreciate it and remember you when the time comes to refer you or call you for their next project. The return on this simple phone call can be enormous. It can easily be the cheapest and most effective way to solidify your work for winter and beyond.

Thanks to Billy’s Resturaunt for a great meal at last month’s meeting. Plus, we had a great tour of the historical Kennard House. It was educational to see pictures of the few plots of houses that were here when Lincoln became the state capitol. It also explained when the “friendly rivalry” with Omaha began as they both fought to be the state capitol.
