Maher Custom Homes is proud to show off their latest work on this beautiful 1930’s two-story home. Keeping within the period the property was built, the master bathroom and powder room have been transformed to fit in today’s standards. Removing the entire existing bathrooms and taking the original closet spaces, Maher Custom Homes has renovated the master bathroom with a large tiled walk-in shower, dual vanity with custom cabinetry, granite countertops and heated tile floors. The sitting room off the master bedroom has been refurbished into a huge master walk-in closet with modern cabinetry and designed to maximize the space available. While in the midst of this project the homeowner decided to update the fireplace with custom bookshelves, mantel and new tile that was used in the powder room to tie all the new features together throughout the home. This stately home has new life but kept the charm of yesteryear. We would like to thank our clients for allowing us to show off their beautiful remodel.

After meeting with the Buser’s, we took the ideas they had for their house and worked with them to come up with this design to incorporate what they were looking for and yet keep the original character of the house. • Remodel the upstairs bathroom • Make the kitchen larger and to be able to entertain with it • Add a bathroom on the first floor with a steam shower • Add an informal eating area • Add a deck to be able to enjoy the backyard We added an addition on the rear of the house and were able to design the space to get everything they wanted. We installed a beautiful kitchen with an island that is perfect to have a large group gather around. We added a quaint built-in eating area off the kitchen with a great view of the backyard. We were able to fit a bathroom with a steam shower in the addition. We remodeled the upstairs bathroom to keep the original look of the house. Come and see how we can add space to your house and make it seem like it was part of the original architecture. Just call the “Goode Guys.”

Out of all the hundereds of kitchens that we at Reynolds Design and Remoding have remodeled since 1987, this transformation was definitely the most challenging, but also the most rewarding one we have ever completed. We couldn’t be more thrilled to share this remodel. Due to previous remodeling and addition work, the existing floor plan for this kitchen was very awkward. The kitchen had double thick brick interior and exterior walls that needed to be removed and supported with engineered laminated beams and footings. The kitchen also had a large wood post in the middle of the space and multiple ceiling heights had to be addressed as well. By removing the post, we were able to give the customer exactly what they wanted. Now they are enjoying their beautiful and functional kitchen with a huge 8’ x 4 1/2’ island, period style windows, inset cabinetry with quartz countertops and a subway tile backsplash. If you have a remodeling project in your future, please visit our showroom at 2406 J Street or our website at www.ReynoldsDesignRemodel.com or you can find us on Facebook. We are proud to be celebrating 27 years in business and to be the recipients of the Better Business Bureau’s 2008 Integrity Award for small business. We would love to help make your dreams a reality! This 48-year-old ranch in the Taylor Park area is typical of many homes built in this era, “Lots of windows, but not much light.” Natural daylight has been tunneled into the home using four Solatube® Daylighting Systems. A Daylighting System in the living room has been positioned above the sitting area between chairs that are frequently used by the homeowners. Detailed task work, like reading and crafts, requires even more light as we age. As time goes by, it is normal for our eyes to be one of the first things we notice change. Suddenly, we realize we need more light for our everyday activities than we did when we were younger. The application in the kitchen provides plenty of task lighting for the sink and countertops as well as healthy natural lighting for the rest of the room. It has helped transform this area into the brightest and most inviting area of the entire home. Studies have shown that individuals who are exposed to more daylight experience less seasonal depression, have fewer sick days and have a better maintained internal clock. With a Solatube® Daylighting Systems in your home, you’ll receive all the benefits natural daylight has to offer even if you don’t have time to go outside and enjoy the sunshine. Not only is natural light better for you, it is also better for the environment and cuts down on energy bills as well. The Solatube® Daylighting device in the garage eliminates the need for electricity during the day. It is no longer necessary to turn on the light to find a tool or bring groceries in from the car. Thank you for letting us brighten your day!

On this Tour you will be able to walk into a well-designed, minimum-maintenance 24’ x 16’ covered deck addition. This new deck addition was designed, engineered and constructed with top-quality products and is a collaboration of designers, engineers, contractors and supply vendors to create an outdoor space that not only lends itself to the design of the original house, but also enhances the value of this home as a whole, and will last without failure for many many years to come. The owner wanted to replace an old existing wooden deck she never used with a more spacious deck she could use to relax on after a day from work, entertain if needed and to provide a safe place for her grandchildren to play, all with minimum maintenance. She accomplished all the above with this project. This rear yard covered deck addition’s foundations and structural framing was engineered by Structural Design Group of Lincoln and features TimberTech floor decking and railings by Earl Carter Lumber, aluminum cladding by Custom Cut Gutters and Siding, concrete pavers and retaining wall stones by Reimers Kaufman and landscaping by Nebraska Nurseries and Color Garden. Bielenberg Builders, Inc. is a custom builder and remodeler. We care about our customers and their projects, as well as building value for our community. All of us at Bielenberg Builders, Inc. would appreciate the opportunity to visit with you about a project you may have in mind! All of our addition projects are engineered and supervised to minimize any probable failures, and are constructed with topquality products. If your next project is about lasting esthetics, whether it be a room addition, bathroom or kitchen remodel, basement finish, or even a new custom home, we would like to be your partner in designing and constructing this project you may be considering. Hope you enjoy our 25th Annual Tour of Remodeled Homes.

The Natural Light Company invites you to visit this thirty-year-old brick townhouse in east Lincoln. This home was in need of daylight, so we installed a total of five Solatube® Daylighting Systems in the hallway, living room, kitchen and garage. The kitchen received much needed extra light with the addition of a 14” Solatube. This installation provides an abundance of soft natural lighting over the sink and stove as well as the dining area. The kitchen was transformed into a much brighter, more uplifting and pleasant space. Another Solatube System was installed next to the upper railing, lighting the second-floor hall and area below. The homeowners were able to open up the space with natural light, providing a much safer and more inviting area. The garage benefited from the addition of a Solatube® Daylighting System. The homeowners are now able to take out their garbage and retrieve items from their freezer without turning on a light each time. Solatube® Daylighting Systems are one of the hottest home design products since the advent of the light bulb more than 100 years ago. They provide a quick, effective and affordable solution to naturally brighten any room of your home. The Solatube® Daylighting system is the only device with Spectralight® Infinity, the most reflective tubing material in the world. At 99.7% reflectivity, no other system will deliver as much light. Thank you for letting us brighten your day!

You Can Have Your Cake & Eat it too! The ultimate dream kitchen for this retired couple was to have more counter space as they cook together and to get rid of the dropped “California” ceiling. The “Icing on the cake” was a built-in circular eating area which was accomplished by moving the pantry door location around the counter and removing a stub wall to open up the space. Custom Wood Products cabinets in Cherry wood in Nutmeg color with brown glaze Quartz counters with a circular eating area at the same height to maximize countertop space Neutral backsplash with “Sprinkles” of glass tile and a large tile inset adds an artistic flair to this kitchen We opened up the doorway to the dining room, removed the wall by the old table area and moved the pantry door to give this kitchen a more workable design Changing the phone/hutch area added an eye catching addition to this space The newly designed kitchen made better access to the family sunroom, where they often serve guests on Holidays, which was the “Icing on the cake!”

Timeless Transition The Willet Construction team transformed this 1978 choppy floor plan into an open, spacious plan with more usable space than ever before. The removal of two walls created more than enough square footage for an open concept kitchen, plenty of room to walk around the dining table, site lines from front to back of house make the living room feel larger. Antique school house pendant lights further accentuate the island as a focal point. Shaw cherry wood flooring, an updated fireplace face and crown molding tie all of the elements together to a beautiful cohesive transitional timeless look. • L-shaped, two-level island has lots of storage and counter space with ample seating for four • Patterned granite island contrasts with solid color quartz countertops elsewhere in room • Random linear backsplash tile with iridescent accent pieces • Showplace cabinetry including paneled ends, tip-out tray, roll-out shelves, tray dividers and wine storage • The cabinets in the dining room provide storage for extra sets of dishes and secondary buffet top for entertaining • Kohler faucet and Elkay E-Doc stainless steel sink enhance the function of the kitchen Let Willet Construction Remodeling Specialists’ team show you why our customers use us again and again. You Can Have Your Cake & Eat it too! After giving some consideration to purchasing a different home or building new, these homeowners felt the best option for them was to update and “re-function” their current home. By removing a wall and opening up the dining room to the kitchen we were able to create a more functional Kitchen space for daily meals and entertaining. The living room doorway was widened and that space was converted to the “NEW” dining room for larger family dinners. Come see how this first-floor remodel has allowed these homeowners to “Have their cake and eat it too!” Cherry cabinetry, a raised island bar with open display and a casual seating niche for the owners completed this space! Hutch cabinetry with wine and beverage storage 20” x 20” floor tile and staggered backsplash tile with decorative slate and glass inserts Quartz countertops with angled seating for four at the island Family room update with new fireplace insert and stacked stone slate tile, cherry bookcase cabinetry and a custom mantel to match! Removing a 1/2 wall between the kitchen and the sunken family room made these spaces feel more connected and the new fireplace was truly the “Icing on the cake” for this project! Imagine finding the perfect lot in an incredible neighborhood with just the right esthetics, beside a lake yet still in the city. However, the house isn’t quite right. That is the conundrum that our clients faced when setting sights upon the idyllic setting of Pine Lake. With a young growing family and busy lifestyle, they turned to Dick Robison of Robison Design Build to turn their dream of a lake house in the city into a reality. Starting with the bones of a house from the 60’s, saving parts and creating new spaces, Dick was able to transform a dated old house into a new home with a spacious and modern floor plan. Expansive windows provide a view of the lake across the large lot. Revisions include a grand living/dining/kitchen area and an exterior covered deck more relevant for an active family today. Thank you Ben and Ramzi for allowing us to work with you and sharing your beautiful home in the Tour of Remodeled Homes. Robison Design Build has been designing/building and remodeling homes for over 30 years. We would love to visit with you and help transform your dreams into reality.

Repurposed Refinement This charming two-story home had everything the owners could want except the kitchen of their dreams. The Willet Construction team corrected that problem. Space was borrowed from an under-used dining room, soffits came down and the peninsula was relocated; all of which created room for more cabinets, counter space and an island dedicated to the owner’s passion of baking. Special attention was given in the design to accommodate the appliances including a stainless steel chimney range hood, double wall ovens and a cooktop. The microwave oven is housed in a cabinet specifically built to keep it off the countertop, yet at a user friendly height. • Special vintage color Showplace cabinet finish allows the kitchen to blend in with the oak in the adjoining family room • Cherry cabinetry on the island gives more interest and contrast • Backsplash tile design around the range hood • Tropical Brown granite on countertops • Repurposed glass French doors • New Mission-style railing between the kitchen and family room Let Willet Construction Remodeling Specialists’ team show you why our customers use us again and again. Our homeowners love their comfortable home on their family farm, but desired not only a master bedroom on the first floor, but an updated and expanded kitchen with better use of space. The result is an elegant addition/remodel, with state-of-the-art features and flowing smoothly with the existing areas of the house. A large but seldom used living room was divided into a new dining room and a small office. The existing dining, kitchen and office walls were removed, allowing for a large and elegant kitchen expansion featuring beautiful birch cabinets in a warm stain color with black glaze. The large 8’ island is a beautiful contrast with Java stained finish. Stainless steel appliances, a large walk-in pantry and abundant cabinet space make this kitchen a delight. The whole area is now open to the existing family room and includes a raised bar where visitors can enjoy visiting with the cook. A new dinette area next to the family room assures access to activities and conversation. Granite countertops with a contrasting granite island, beautiful glass tile backsplash as well as hickory wood floors and an abundance of elegant crown moulding throughout add to the overall ambiance making this home both elegant and homey. New tile floors in the existing bath and laundry room and new carpeting in the existing family room and entry stairway complete this part of the remodel. But wait, there is more! Down the hallway there is a huge new master bedroom, 24’ x 17’, with large master bath featuring a curved vanity with make up bar, large tiled shower and big walk-in closet. The owner’s decision to leave the brick wall of the existing house exposed on one side of the hallway and bedroom adds character and charm, blending the old with the new. The hallway features a bench for removing boots and shoes and a shelf with hooks to hang items on as one comes in from the new garage. We wish to thank our homeowners for allowing us to share this extensive and beautiful remodel! We thank you for touring this home and would love to visit with you about remodeling your existing home or building a new one. We look forward to talking with you!
