Publisher’s Corner The greatest gift you can offer is a healthy, whole you Every year in the April/May issue, I say the same thing—Happy Birthday, Healing Springs Community. This year is our 14th and I am ever thankful to create a bridge between readers and practitioners. While I adore facilitating the Journal’s coming together, and plan on continuing to do so, I also feel the itch or push to create something more individualized to my personal medicine. Even though I’ve already been teaching workshops of my own creation and writing for 12 years, stating that desire out loud brings me the angst of questions like “Who am I to want more than what’s already so good? What might I say that hasn’t already been said better by others? Everyone has access to the same ideas, why would they care what I have to say?” Life is filled with contradictions. It is true that what I have to say has already been said better by others, it is also true that what I have to share is unique and valuable. With the blessing of free will, it is my choice which truism I will follow. Carlos Castaneda said; “All paths are the same: they lead nowhere.... Does this path have a heart?” In that vain, the only question worth asking is “does it have heart?” Then follow only that which does. With all that said, what I am feeling “called” to do is still in question. My passions are many…. horses, dogs, all wild animals, the woods, photography, music, writing, healing and anything genuinely related to soul and spirit. I do not doubt all this fits together, perhaps particular to me, but how? Rather than follow one to the exclusion of others, I often allow my inability to see the whole scenario to prevent me from moving solidly forward. Additionally, I already enjoy what I’m doing, why force myself to act before having clarity? The following came to me as I pondered that question…. “Seeking clarity first can be a diversion from what’s important.” Diversion, resistance and avoidance seem to be favorite games of the modern human. The thing I’m diverting from may be my greatest contribution to life. The responsibility of getting that “right” feels overwhelming, hence the deviation. Alternatively, and perhaps more painfully, it could mean nothing to anyone. Who’s to know until it’s created? The path with heart will not necessarily bring us success or adoration, yet to our soul it is of the greatest importance that we follow it. However, we are always given the choice to do so or not. I mention all this not for suggestions on how to ‘fix’ the issue but because there may be many of you who relate. While I feel confused, others see me as someone who knows what she’s up to. Again, both are true. Confusion is not an enemy, apathy is. Often, finding yourself baffled is a sure sign you are on the right track to your place in the world. Soul-filled questions are what bring out the genuine from the unexamined. Go forth in confusion, so long as it has heart. Over the 14 years I’ve been writing the Publisher’s Corner, a subject that comes up often is animals—what I’ve learned from them, how they touch my soul and what my relationship to them tells me about myself. As mentioned earlier, I love all animals, especially but not limited to dogs, horses, owls, hawks, chickadees, lions, chimpanzees, bonobos, porcupines, chickens and elephants. One of many reasons for my adoration is that they have not thought themselves away from their natural existence. Even my dog who would have no idea where to sleep if not on her own love seat, still maintains the very things that make her a canine—such as sniffing the ground to see what happened during the night and guarding her territory. Meanwhile, our first human ancestors lived in tribes and ‘uncivilized’ communities. Yet, today in mainstream America we have little understanding or sense of such a natural lifestyle. Interestingly, as witnessed in shelters and rescues, there is an overpopulation of domesticated animals, while many wild populations are on the decline. This same pattern is taking place within the human species; our domestication is in surplus while our wild— the ancient part that knows its self to be simply one facet of the natural world—is on the decline. It is my assertion that this fact is the cause of many modern problems, addictions, depression and a variety of illnesses included. It is time to reclaim our nature and integrate it with civilization. This will be the new modern. On May 21st, The Healing Springs is hosting a symposium at Coesa Wellness Center in the Saratoga Spa State Park. The morning will host 5 HSS (heart sourced talks) that will be 18 minutes each, the length of a Ted-talk. We will have Beth Sabo Novik talking about “Trust.” David DeWolf will discuss “Learning from Mother Nature.” Gary Goldberg from WRPI’s “In The Spirit” and “Gary’s Music Show” will talk about “Bhakti Yoga.” I will be discussing “Animals; The Soul of the Wild,” which will include a slideshow of animals I’ve been lucky enough to come in contact with. The afternoon will have workshops given by the morning’s speakers. To close the day, Zelda Hotaling will provide a crystal bowl meditation to heal us with sound. To buy your ticket visit; www.healingspringsjournal.com/symposium. Looking forward to seeing you there. Until then, have faith in your heart’s path. In love with the wild in us all,

Are you ready to begin your Journey to Healing? My personal mission is to help people remove Trapped Emotions from their lives. Getting rid of these Trapped Emotions has a MAJOR impact on a person s well-being and life. My work is centered around the heart, specifically: 1) Breaking down the Heart-Wall that we all construct around our hearts 2) Releasing Trapped Emotions including those that can sometimes be handed down to us from our ancestors. Both are critical to improving our lives - but I’ve discovered something new that can also help heal our hearts.

Moving in the Dark by Cara Anaam t is 4:00 am, the room is dark, and suddenly the timing of Tai Chi weight shifts I couldn’t quite “get” in class becomes clear. I can do it! I have been practicing since 3:15 am when I struggled out of bed to let my dog out. As I waited for her to finish her business in the yard, the part of the form we had gone over in detail in the last class came to mind, and I found myself sleepily taking the stance that begins the sequence in question.
I
Now, forty-five minutes later, the dog is in and asleep, the lights are out, and I can do the sequence with the weight shifts it entails, painstakingly slow and as I remember them. Of course, next class I’ll see more deeply what’s involved and realize how much more there is to doing it as true Tai Chi, but at this moment I have come a small step closer to understanding what this sequence of six movements entails and reward myself with a gingersnap before slipping back between the flannel sheets. Being retired, I don’t begrudge myself the occasional practice time in the middle of the night. There’s something about the quiet and the darkness that enables me to focus on my own body. I seem to more clearly identify where I am putting my weight, whether my knees are correctly positioned, whether the motion

of my arms and feet are in sync. I can’t see them since I’m in the dark so must really concentrate on what my body is telling me. I notice my breathing, whether it’s only in my upper chest or if I am breathing from my diaphragm, which helps me keep more balanced. Concentration on the rhythm of my breathing helps me begin to experience the process of “release then energize” that is such a key component of Tai Ch. I do, of course, practice in the light of day, outside if weather permits, but in the middle of the night, I seem to relax my shoulders more completely, turn my waist more easily since my hips are more relaxed. And glory hallelujah, my knees seem more willing to bend. Could be because I’ve been in a relaxed position for hours before I start. My mind is also clearer, and I remember things from class that I forget during the day. I seem to be able to let go of unrealistic expectations for how quickly I should learn since no one is watching me, not even myself. Instead of relying on my eyes to tell me whether my stance or movement is correct, I have to go deeper and communicate directly with limbs, muscles, joints, organs, mind, and memories of what I had been exposed to in class.
I feel exhilarated when I finish a night session, satisfied that I learned something. Usually I am asleep a few minutes after going back to bed and sleep soundly until the sun comes up. But this Healing Springs I #85 April/May, 2016 I 14th Anniversary Issue

night is different. I fall asleep, then in minutes jerk awake feeling anxious. Annoyed with myself, I let my mind wander through possible reasons. Suddenly it’s clear. I had allowed myself to become really conscious of my own body and what I felt. For many years this had been dangerous territory for me. Abuse had conditioned me to tune out, to completely deny what my own body was telling me. Now I realize what a terrible deprivation this was and take joy in every small reclaiming of my birthright as an embodied creature. Then, I can fall asleep in peace. In 2005, I had a serious stroke that left me with many physical and mental challenges, but which, I’ve come to believe, started a major realignment in my brain and spirit. I wasn’t satisfied with how I was functioning after the usual physical therapy, though I was grateful it had gotten me home and driving again. I looked for help to some non-traditional modalities such as Reiki and Flower Essences, and was led by dreams in 2006 to try equineassisted therapy, which I found had a positive impact on my physical and mental well-being. In 2007, again introduced to the idea in a dream, I began taking Tai Chi classes at the local YMCA. From the beginning, the practice felt right for me, though trying to make any real sense of it was extremely frustrating at first. My friends, though, began to notice the physical effects on my balance and then the way the practice was affecting my speech. In a year or so, I could remember names for and perform some sequences of steps; it actually felt like my brain was waking up, rebooting. But I came to realize I needed more than the YMCA could offer so eventually my instincts led me to the Tai Chi Center in Saratoga and Mark Tolstrup. There, albeit after a few years of dogged mimicking what I thought Mark was showing us, my paralyzing sense of anxiety lessened. I was freer and began to internalize the flow of #85 April/May,

I could actually look at myself in the studio mirrors, and not freeze when I felt my movements being observed, both indicating new ways of being in the world for me. The learning process itself was becoming pleasurable, and that propelled me to leave my comfort zone again in 2014 when I began taking Qi Gong classes at the Center. Taoist meditation, which is a big part of this practice, centers one squarely in one’s own present body. There is none of the mind/body dichotomy that had allowed me to function at a high level intellectually in executive positions in Canadian publishing for years, while actually being almost completely divorced from my own body. Today, I really look forward to using my mind and body in concert to start to grasp the various Qi Gong concepts we’re introduced to in every series of classes. I actually revel in the fact that I have so much to learn and know I have only begun to scratch the surface of both Tai Chi and Qi Gong. Thanks to the internal martial arts, this is actually the first extended period in my life I dare to feel and acknowledge that I truly love to be alive. I am so grateful that I have been given the opportunity to finally feel this joy daily, in the dark as well as the light. Mindscaping Hypnosis is all about uncovering the path for the client to have a clear passage way toward their goal and the motivation to accomplish it. At times we all need help from outside professionals. The problem with that kind of help is that when we are told what to do we don’t always take the good advice and stick with the solution. However when we have an insight, an AHHA moment, a deeply positive feeling, we can’t deny it. It automatically sticks with us. This is the basis of learning. And as we learn what makes us feel good, we want it even more. So we tend to move toward our objective when it’s connected to that insight without even being aware of taking steps to accomplish it because it just feels good. It feels like the correct thing to do.

An elegant and powerful way for your hypnotist to use symbols is to set the stage for you to uncover your own symbols and put them Healing Springs I #85 April/May, 2016 I 14th Anniversary Issue

Insights can be thoughts, realizations, memories, feelings, or even instructions given at the right time, when the guard at the entrance to the subconscious mind is distracted. It’s easier and feels better to let insights in than to spend energy keeping them out. One of the best ways to introduce insights is through symbols. Symbols have deep meaning to the subconscious mind that the conscious mind is unaware of and therefore unable to resist. Universal symbols do exist yet their meaning and power varies with the individual and can even change over a lifetime. So how can we use symbols?
to work for you at a deep unconscious level. Mindscaping Hypnosis, developed in Toronto Canada, is this type of symbol based hypnosis process. The basic premise of Mindscaping Hypnosis is that we all have within us the answer to our problems. By identifying the problem you want to work on, then introducing a framework, like a 3D map, the hypnotist is able to offer the client their own way of solving their problem without directly telling them how to do it. You might think of Mindscaping Hypnosis as a video game you can get inside of without any chance of being hurt, where you can find out how to accomplish your goals and feel compelled to do so. Things can be changed and changes can be undone and redone in Mindscaping Hypnosis so the client can uncover the most advantageous strategy for success without the concern of making a mistake.

As the hypnotist unfolds the process, the client’s unconscious mind reveals their success-map and insights. Since you really can’t unlearn what you’ve learned through insights, what is revealed stimulates the imagination to solve the problem being worked on. Mindscaping Hypnosis gives the client a path to proceed. You can try to forget it or test it, but that only sets up internal triggers to consider how much you really want to have what you thought you wanted and discover how you’ll get it. If the answer is yes, you want it, you feel good. The blockages that may have to be dissolves, can crumble and fade away with this process which can be done in an office setting or over Skype.

I have a dream, that those that can -see what is happening in our world and feel the importance of these times, and the choices that we make now. This is the time of "The Great Shift." Toward that end, you will see the first flyers of several events that I've arranged with the help of some very amazing Community Members, in Healing Springs this month, who are willing to join my band The Souls of Evolution and I -To honor and heal the elements through song, intention, poetry and prayer. Clearing Negative INTERFERENCE a Core Function of Shamanic Energy Healing
by Wendy ball n shamanic healing negative interference is understood as anything that disrupts our balance, drains our energy, that disempowers or uses us for it's own ends.
I
We are familiar with what interferes with our energy at the physical level. If we are not sleeping, not eating properly, have a cold, a chronic condition or a disease we lose energy. But our energy is also affected by our emotions and thought patterns. It is affected by trauma imprints, unhealthy relationships, lack of boundaries, negative emotions and emotional disorders such as depression and anxiety.
18
The shamanic healing perspective is holistic. It pays attention to anything and everything that drains our energy. A shamanic pracHealing Springs I #85 April/May, 2016 I 14th Anniversary Issue

Shamanic energy healing can be a powerful and effective way of re-claiming personal power and well-being.” titioner will track interference that presents in the luminous body and clear or extract it. The adage that sticks and stones will break our bones and words will never hurt you is only true if the hurt from judgments, curses, other's anger that is directed to us, is released. Angry words if they come as a shock or are cumulative can be tracked in the energy body. I often perceive these with my inner senses symbolically as daggers, darts, thorns, or shards. Removing these creates relief on all levels.

Attachments to people who are controlling, or who undermine us in some way may be perceived as cords that can be cut or otherwise removed. Attachments may exist to those we are no longer in active relationship with, or to those who have died, or to ancestors. A lineage of anger and mistrust passed down a family line may be tracked as a cord. The impact of our own emotional and thought patterns may present symbolically as walls, boxes or bindings such as belts, or ropes, a heavy layer, or a thick fog. Just as we may experience a negative pattern as being beyond our control, energetically it may take on a life of it's own. In this way we may be tormented by a negative emotion in much the same way coming from ourselves as we would if it were coming from someone else. Whatever its origin it may be removed from our energy body if we are willing to release it. Clearing it out of our energy body "clears the way" for us to experience ourselves in a freer, more positive way. Interference may also come from earth-bound spirits that have not transitioned and have found a home in us. Whatever the origin of such energy it does not belong with us. It's evolution and ours is served by our releasing this energy to spirit. It can be experienced in many ways. It may create impulses or compulsions that are not truly ours. I may be the source of fear or other intense emotions that we identify as our own but do not originate with us. And interference may also come from other sources: elemental energy, other dimensions. Strong boundaries, i.e. a sense of self ownership and self sovereignty, of consciously choosing what does and does not share our psychic space is the best protection, along with avoidance of substances and activities that open us to invasion. Extraction of such energies is an important part of shamanic work along with education and coaching re energetic boundaries. Interference is what keeps us from being all that we can be, whether it is from negative beliefs that we have inherited, unhealthy bonds with others, or manipulation from an external sourcebe it visible or invisible. Shamanic energy healing can be a powerful and effective way of re-claiming personal power and well-being.

Redirect your Spending and SAVE M by Evan Lawrence any people say they want to be healthier, but when they see what it will cost to take action on their health goals, they often balk. Where will they come up with the money for supplements, a juicer, yoga classes or gym memberships, or gluten-free diets? One of the methods my healthy living company encourages is to ask people to take a look at where they're spending money now. Are they already buying supplements, cleaning products, skin and personal care products, snack food and protein drinks from other sources? Can they redirect some of that money to our products? Can they skip the fast food, coffee shop, or vending machines drinks and pastries and put that money toward healthy products instead? Sometimes the healthy products will actually be cheaper. In any case, they'll be getting higher quality for their dollars and health benefits as well.
A speaker at a business conference a few years ago helped me see the concept of “redirect your money and save” in a broader sense. She described how her kids were always sick with one thing or another. The kids missed school and activities. She and her husband had to take time away from work and other things they needed to do in order to deal with the kids' illnesses. The cost of doc#85 April/May,
tor visits and medicines bit into their budget. Living with sick, cranky kids just wasn't much fun. Everybody was stressed. A friend suggested the family try some of the supplements and other products from our company. With some skepticism, the parents did so. Their budget was already tight and the products weren't cheap. They looked at it as just one more expense. Then, slowly but surely, the children’s health began to improve. The parents, who had gone on their own supplement program, felt better too. Eventually, the kids went from sickly to healthy. And Mom noticed something else: The kids weren't missing school and activities. They weren’t constantly cranky. Mom and Dad weren't missing work or spending their free time on trips to the doctor's office and pharmacy. They weren't shelling out money for co-pays. Everyone was happier and had more time and money to do the things they really enjoyed doing. Yes, the supplements and other healthy living products were an ongoing expense. But being healthy was saving the family a significant amount of time, money, and sanity. The benefit easily outweighed the cost. As you consider your health goals for the new year, I encourage you to look beyond the immediate dollar cost of whatever you'd like to do. How might that new activity or program pay off in terms of better health, less health care, and a better quality of life now and in the future? Redirect your spending and save! Ask the ractitioner
“If illness is a manifestation of our deeper psyche, from the energetic to the physical (as in: be careful what you say /wish for) what gave rise to this? Does it need to be treated physically, spiritually, both? for healing to occur? Does the illness arise from an unexplored / hidden / unresolved issue within my subconscious?”
Acupuncture; Gregg St Clair I’ve asked myself many times if everything happen for a reason. When sitting at a stop light in your car and rammed from behind at 50 mph is that somehow your fault? Is it your Karma? A cosmic lesson to help you achieve enlightenment? These questions are beyond my meager understanding. The answers I’ve heard from many spiritual teachers is, yes, everything happens for a reason, or there are no coincidences. But I’m not so sure. It’s a pretty tall order, even for God, to pay attention to everything that happens to every person every second and turn them into important life lessons. What I can tell you with absolute certainty is that everything has a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual connection. If there is any illness, you can bet it is connected to the mind and spirit. The question is: which way is the energy flowing? From spirit to physical, or physical to spirit? If you are hurting spiritually, eventually it will affect the physical. If you are hurting physically, eventually it will hurt the spiritual. My belief is that it is a two way street and some things, say injuring your shoulder at the gym is physical and others, perhaps anxiety, comes from the mind and spirit. I’ve had multiple cancer patients tell me; they know they gave themselves cancer! Many people have thoughts and patterns that hold them back from living their fullest and they are often completely unaware of what they might be. We all have what is termed the “shadow side.” This is the side of us that we just don’t see and don’t understand –the inner workings of our sub-conscious. When it comes to things like past traumas or abuse, there might be memories blocked, but that does not mean they don’t affect us and might explain some of our baffling behaviors. So I would say yes, since everything is connected, we always want to look at the mind and spirit as part of our healing path. Becoming aware of the shadow side is half the battle. A therapist who looks at the whole picture, journaling, dream analysis, hypnosis or meditation might lead to insights into the shadow to help you to do the work and free it up. Whether the pain or illness is physical, emotional or spiritual, bringing the shadow to light will free up energy to help create health in all aspects of your life.
Homeopathy; Claudia A health crisis while challenging is also a profound opportunity for self reflection. Pausing and asking questions about why has this happened often produces remarkable insights that might have otherwise escaped notice. It can be the most compelling invitation to take stock on physical, mental-emotional and spiritual levels. Potentially, it can be a gateway to the flowering of one's essential nature, the enduring presence of the eternal and the divine that exists within everyone. A diagnosis is often followed by a procedure such as a test, a surgery or an extended course of treatment. Suddenly the normal course of one's life is paused. People have described a feeling of separation, a detachment from what is being said by the physician.Thoughts such as, "this can't be about me", "this is totally outside of my reality". Often a shock sets in which causes a feeling of non-identification with the diagnosis and then, with acceptance, a subtle alteration in consciousness can emerge. This slightly altered state often opens a portal to going within more deeply and touching the inner dimensions of stillness. From this stillness, one can detach from the egoic fears of mortality and control and begin to experience life as a meditation. One of my closest friends had a pancreatic cyst removed which was assumed to be benign, but the pathology study showed the presence of pancreatic cancer cells. I watched my friend go through the rigors of surgery, radiation and courses of chemotherapy. She enjoyed a brilliant career , a very loving husband and many good friends. Her diagnosis and its poor prognosis for long term survival pushed her into a deep self examination. She craved time for meditation, contemplation, for prayer, for listening to guided journeys. Each of these actions encouraged an opening to the inner dimensions of spirit and helped her clear away a lot of pain and suffering. Her rigorous medical treatments gave her time away from work and so she was able to engage in these spiritual pursuits. She often said that without the illness she never had the time or motivation to explore this part of herself. Her illness became her catalyst for profound spiritual growth, a fast track in getting glimpses of enlightenment. Another friend had to have head surgery to remove a non-cancerous mass. She wanted to optimize her surgery and recovery, so for 1 month prior, she listened to guided journeys for healing well and having optimal surgical outcomes. Two months after the successful surgery, she now longs for the feelings that were awakened by this experience; the heightened feelings of lightness, the expansiveness, stillness and presence. She felt deeply transformed and yearns for more contemplative, creative and meditative space. She also received new clarity about life and career decisions and completed many affairs of life that had been neglected.
Self examination and reflection shouldn't be confused with self blame which is negative and destructive. Often people feel guilt about causing a health crisis. Self reflection should be approached with gentle acceptance, compassion and loving Gregg St.Clair, L.Ac., www.stclairfamilyacupuncture.com, kindness. Then, even the most challenging health crisis, if we follow its invitation, can reveal the enduring dimensions of the 518-383-1230. 22 Healing Springs I #85 April/May, 2016 I 14th Anniversary Issue

Homeopathy; Jerome Pindell Self reflection is an essential piece of a larger complex of experiences that nurture the soul, the mind and ultimately the physical body. Disease as it manifests in the body, is often an opportunity. Whether the result of failing to heed warnings of the soul or of having ignored physical or emotional discomforts, the reality of any manifestation of most (not all) disease starts in the energetic field of the body. Self reflection is an opportunity to gain an expanded perspective of our journey in life whether before or after illness manifests. How does self reflection or self examination benefit health and / or healing? Understanding the nature of what is occurring around you and inside of you, can often lead to very subtle inquiries into the doubts, uncertainties, fears and resistance to change, that at some level we know is integral to growth and our forward momentum in life. Heed the messages and we may avoid difficult lessons. Recently, I sat with a client faced with a decision of whether to follow a years' long adherence to alternative healing modalities or allow for surgery to remove a troublesome growth. Opting for the usefulness of gaining information, they had the suspicious growth removed, which proved to be cancerous. Radiation and chemo-therapy were recommended. What was interesting was that the mass was located in an area of the body that reflected an issue that they had been avoiding. I suggested that they reflect less on the fear of the diagnosis and more on the lesson, the opportunity that this presented. The healing would follow the journey of allowing the lesson to carry them through the many interventions that were undertaken, once it was decided what that be.

Seek guidance when it feels correct and drop it if it does not resonate. Healing will follow the path well chosen, if you are meant to remain incarnate. Self reflection is a learning that carries through and beyond the reaches of the conscious mind and is often an opportunity that illness offers us.
During our initial and follow up consultations, many issues surfaced and we explored their perspectives on resistance, fear of the diagnosis and of what the outcome would be. Healing requires an openness to letting go and letting Prime Source be the ultimate guide to what is next. An adversarial relationship to disease gives power to the imbalance. Self reflection and following what feels correct for you, rather than what is being reflected through fear or a need to control, is the opportunity to follow the soul's map of learning. by Ma Satprem editation was developed in ancient Asia from spiritual seekers which had reached enlightenment. Being old, people left society for the mountains or monasteries to gain peace of mind in preparation for death. The existing 108 meditations include Vipassana, developed by The Buddha. He was the first Master who initiated young people and woman. One first needs to learn AWARENESS, because one has to WATCH breath and each MOVEMENT during the day. Vipassana works only for advanced students.
M
Meditation is a tool of the heart, to go passive IN and find the WATCHER. Westerners are outgoing, talkative, trained in the mind, believing in science and proof. We have little insights about our inner worlds, have created machines and function meanwhile like machines. We are not aware of the fact, that our days pass unconscious like a dream, with a minimum of pleasant feelings. We are enslaved by power-hungry and greedy companies and live to work not work for a living. Brainwashing starts in the schools, later universities, work and via the media. Do you remember when you last had a hearty laughter, saw happy people, felt singing, dancing and simply enjoying your existence without risking or drugs? Something went wrong with our lives and our planet is endangered. So are we, the plant and animal kingdom. Meditation brings consciousness and intelligence of the heart. The time is NOW to begin with it. Its advisable to find a trustworthy guide with experience, as helper on the path! To begin, one has to learn sitting on the ground, in a half or full Lotus position. In this 90 degree angle the spine is most relaxed and the body minimal pulled to the earth. It builds a sacret pyramid, grounded, with the highest point (fontanelle) open to the universal energyflow. With closed or half-closed eyes, we WATCH the natural breath, mowing in and out. There will be thoughts.

WATCH also those, without “hooking” in. It takes patience and will finally teach patience!! Keep sitting and only WATCH breath and thoughts.
enlightenment shopping wood and carrying water” Zen Koan The mind will question, with all the time of sitting, what did I gain, which is my benefit?
Boring? Yes, at times. But also this is a THOUGHT we watch, going IN. NO willpower is used, the ego-mind WATCHED and our guiding Mystic will tap the crown above our heads, to wake us up when fallen asleep or entangled in the “train of thoughts.” The WATCHER grows deeper and with it the breath slows down and also the thoughts. We experience that breath and thoughts are connected! Breath is the bridge between body and soul. We SEE, that the observer (we) can’t be the observed. This is the physical part of recognition. It follows the psychological part, WATCHING the feelings. We observe, that also those are part of the mind. We first need to UNDERSTAND the mind, to transform it. Watching the breath, moments happen it is so flat, that it feels almost not being there and fear to die rises.
THIS can be only understood with ones own experience. The heavy burden of work is transformed into joyful worship. Now one encounters life with their own intelligence. No knowledge from others or books. What ideas are your own. All is borrowed and may come from hearing and quoting Buddha, but doesn’t make you a Buddha or wise one!
Go on watching and fear of death will be transformed. With the slowing of the breath, thoughts slow down. First there is no thought for second, then for minutes. ALL Awakened Masters say, being without thought for “only” 48 minutes and enlightenment happens.
Meditativeness brings you from the mind into the heart behind the heart, worth to be called human. Its time to de-automize ourselves and take personal responsibility for our sufferings and that of the planet, animal and plant kingdoms. With growing consciousness, we can transform the momental darkness into living light. Playful, joyful, blissful, we can give back meaning to our and others lives, help everyone to freedom, the waters to flow, the air to be full of oxygen, the earth to be fruitful, birds to sing and all other animals to find an undisturbed natural environnent. Meditativeness must become our every breath! COLOR your days in love with love.
In this moment of pure watching one has become the host to welcome the guest (God) to enter. This second you SEE the WATCHER, (YOURSELF). FREED from the slavery of the mind, one has entered Masterhood. No more separation from others or the universe, one has arrived home. “The Drop has fallen into the ocean.” Blissfulness is born and with it friendliness, patience, compassion, forgiveness, humor and creativity. The judgmental mind has died and with it the burning flames of hate and anger. The smoke of desires, which bears greed, possessiveness, jealousy and passion has disappeared and with it all unhappiness. A fragrance of mystery surrounds one, with a natural joy in what IS. Bathing in Suchness IS awakening. “BEFORE enlightenment shopping wood and carrying water. AFTER
