Whatever the reason be, studies have found that drinking filtered coffee can effectively impose beneficial impacts in helping improve the condition of Type-2 diabetes. A new study conducted by the researchers of the Chalmers University of Technology found that drinking filtered coffee has amazing benefits in helping reduce the risks associated with type 2 diabetes in no time at all. The research does suggest that the way the coffee is prepared does have beneficial impacts on the overall range of cure. There have been a number of prior conducted studies which have highlighted the benefits of drinking coffee for reduced risks of type 2 diabetes. Rikard Landberg, Professor in Food Science at Chalmers, and Affiliated Professor at the Department of Public Health and Clinical Medicine at Umeå University who is also the senior author of the study suggested saying that they have found a number of “biomarkers” in the blood of 29
the participants depending on the types of coffee that they drank.
These biomarkers were then taken to further find its impacts on the condition of Type2 diabetes. With the results, the researchers did find that the filter does have positive impacts in preventing the development of the diabetes which the normal boiled coffee doesn’t have. From the biomarkers, the researchers were successful in finding that the individuals who consumed filtered coffee had a 60% reduction in their risks of type 2 diabetes. For the individuals who consumed the regular boiled coffee, there were no impacts on their condition of type2 diabetes. The primary author of the study, Landberg believes that people around tend to have the misconception that coffee is only bad for one’s health, when that is actually not the case. The main reason behind this is because prior studies have consistently painted the coffee and caffeine as bad for one’s overall health. the researchers used a new technique known as the metabolomics along with a number of classic questionnaires involved. The metabolic play a crucial role in understanding the blood concentration of a number of molecules in a given food or drink. This also doesn’t rely on the self suggested reports which further assure accurate results in the end. Lin Shi, who is the lead author of the study finally suggested saying, “Metabolomics is a fantastic tool, not just for capturing the intake of specific foods and drinks, but also for studying the effects that that intake has on people’s metabolism. We can derive important information on the mechanisms behind how certain foods influence disease risk”
