SICKLE CELL CAUSE Dates for your Diary 2016 Dear SC Cause Members & Supporters, When one belongs to a Support Group being aware, informed and involved with what’s going on in our community is of fundamental importance; not only is having the facts of how systems that affect us is placed within the community important, it is also better for our health in many ways to have as healthy a social life as possible. Each of us needs all of us; we need each other during the good times as well as when we face personal challenges. Being a member of SC Cause comes with some responsibility, hence the tittle, ‘Support Group’. When individually things are going good it is nice to share that time with others to help uplift spirits as equally when we ourselves are feeling the lows we can accept the support offered to us knowing that we would do the same for our fellow members. Giving and receiving are both gifts, both being of equal importance. Our Support group receives many invitations to attend and support other health group meetings and social events and you will have noticed over the last few months that other groups have been attending and supporting our initiatives and meetings. We are unable and unwilling to curb our popularity and growth!!! Sickle Cell Cause intends to continue with the meaningful relationships we have built up individually and collectively and as stated in our Aims & Objectives; we will support other community groups that share the same values and high standards as ourselves. Obviously we cannot each attend each and every community event; but we should try our hardest to have a healthy diary, not just filled with hospital appointments and blank pages; If you have received an Award Certificate from SC Cause you will have noticed that our group motto is:
“We empathise before we analyse; for when we give, we truly receive” As well as our own Support Group meetings, Workshops and Initiatives the committee of SC Cause looks forward to seeing our members more often than not at the community events we are all invited to attend. Remembering; Each of us needs all of us’, please see some dates for your diaries below. Our Children’s and ‘End of Year’ events for 2016 will be discussed and confirmed by our members at our next Open House meeting on Saturday 10th September; Come and have your say!!!
