“Iʼve heard it said that everything expires. I donʼt know when her relationship with Johnny will expire, but I guess it will be soon.”

PLOT SUMMARY FALLEN ANGLES can be described as an expanded conception of CHUNGKING EXPRESS. Of course, two stories overlap in one film, with Wongʼs own frenetic visuals dominating and incorporating a lot of fragmented, experimental style. Compared to the sweetness of CHUNGKING EXPRESS, FALLEN ANGLES is more like the other side of the coin.

FESTIVAL THEME

FESTIVAL SUMMARY July 17th is Wong Kar Waiʼs birthday and a fitting date to commemorate the classic remake of his classic film “In the Mood for Love”, which Criterion Collection and Janus Films are collaborating on for the 20th anniversary of the release of “In the Mood for Love” in 2020. The Criterion Collection and Janus Films collaborated on the 20th anniversary of the release of In the Mood for Love in 2020. On Wong Kar Waiʼs birthday, they decided to collaborate again and organize a film festival as a way to recall this classic. The festivalʼs name is “Poetry of Indulgence”, which depicts a man living in a noisy city tries to be close to people but feels helplessly alone. He was always carried away by alcohol and neon lights; he walks alone in the streets drowned in loneliness and an unrestrained indulgence in yearning. These feelings of loneliness are divided into different chapters, making us realize that we all have the same experience.

Wong Kar Wai

Festival Theme

“Feel the most real loneliness behind the lens and touch the indulgence under the neon lights.”
