Welcome to the third edition of ArtAspen Let this informative catalog serve as your guide to the third annual ArtAspen. This three day international fine art fair is the most significant art buying event of the year in Aspen. We are pleased to showcase today’s most vibrant art sector– post-war and contemporary art, while paying homage to Aspen’s well-earned reputation as an important fine art marketplace. Casting a global net, we have assembled 25 respected galleries from around the world, showing nearly $100 million in important mid 20th and 21st century art. In 2000, Isabella Brancolini opened one of the first contemporary art galleries in Florence. The gallery showed a very contemporary program of photography, painting, installation, and video, exhibiting internationally at art fairs including Fiac, Arco, and Artissima. In 2005 Camilla Grimaldi joined the gallery, which became Brancolini Grimaldi Arte Contemporanea. To further broaden its reach the gallery opened a second space in the heart of Rome. The gallery’s program became more focused, specializing in photography and video, and truly seeking out contemporary artists who use photography as a means to an end, often pushing the medium past its typical preconceptions.
