WYRE FLOOD ACTION GROUP

I joined other flood forum members in June for the quarterly meeting (held remotely) and took part in discussions on familiar topics with paid officers from the Environment Agency, Lancashire County Council, Wyre Council and Natural England and members of the local flood forums from river towns and villages. There are issues concerning Churchtown, St Michaels, Great and Little Eccleston, Out Rawcliffe, Hambleton, Preesall and Thornton Cleveleys which officers are studying and finding solutions for. Cleaning and maintenance of the natural and built drainage system is at the heart of much of the debate. The list of issues and actions produced for each meeting demonstrates the revolving nature of drainage and flood prevention.
