OVER WYRE ART SOCIETY

Yes, we made it back! We welcomed several new faces along with many previous members for freestyle painting for our first group meeting early June. A figure painting week followed when we all took turns to pose in various costumes. We only had ten minutes to sketch for each one so this needed quick assessment and observation. Next was watercolour tuition guided by two of our members, Sylvia and Glenda who were very helpful. We concentrated on stormy skies, creating clouds and varying the colours used. This was in preparation for a seascape to be completed the following week. Paintings were submitted for a small competition in memory of a local artist ‘Woody’ who gave us lots of advice in recent years. The winners will be announced next month. We are a friendly group who encourage each other and also try to improve with outside tuition. Please contact me if you are interested in joining us so you can have a trial week.
