Stalmine with Staynall Residents’ Assoc

The large pothole opposite the bus stop near McColl’s shop was dealt with immediately after we contacted our LCC Cllr John Shedwick. Thanks go to John again for his support and speedy action. We have received several complaints that some dog walkers are letting their pets chase the wildlife down at the Heads. Please help to keep our wildlife safe by making sure that it’s not your pooch that is guilty. Thanks. Our vice-chairman, Peter Swarbrick has analysed the amended application for the proposed two care homes next to Linley Grange on the A588 (160 beds and 50+ more houses). Peter again found the plans sadly lacking and has put forward our original objections plus many more additional concerns. Peter has also asked Cllr Shedwick to look

into the possibility of having the access road to Stalmine Park in front of the Seven Stars resurfaced when LCC are resurfacing the A588 stretch of road by the shop. Watch this space. Yet again, we have very recently seen several more accidents on the A588 through our village. We have notified Ben Wallace, MP and Cllr Shedwick. Road safety and poor driving are both a serious concern not just in Stalmine but Over Wyre in general. Chris Hyde, our SSRA Chairman, is offering to set up a joint group of local representatives to act as one stronger voice on this issue and to share ideas for more immediate action to be taken by the authorities. Leppert-Williams, governor at Stalmine School for her work on this matter. Amy and friends have distributed large bin stickers, supplied by our PCSO, to all residents along the A588. The stickers can be posted on our waste bins and be in plain view for all to see at collection times. The dates of the next two meetings of Stalmine with Staynall Residents’ Association are still unknown at this point but will be as soon as allowed.
