CRY Screening Sat 13th & Sun 14th Nov
All the best to everyone who has appointments for screening at Garstang Community Academy. Please don’t forget to bring any relevant paperwork and adhere to the booking requirements. If you are unable to make it to your appointment please be sure to let CRY know in good time as an appointment not kept is a vital screening lost.

Donations
The members of Garstang & District Lions have agreed to provide a sum of £200 sponsorship in response to a request for support for a runner in the Manchester half marathon with the proceeds going to a charity for the homeless. Our usual generous sum has now been transferred to the Lions Club International Fund to allow them to provide help and support to both current and future world wide emergencies. Fylde Women’s Aid have a continued need for new clothing items (babies, small children or ladies), new toys, new cosmetic or new toiletries and this appeal is ongoing with our collection point being the Resources Centre (old Liberal Club on Bridge Street).
We have just completed another delivery but are planning one more soon. The Covid pandemic has created an increase in the overall numbers being supported both nationally and locally and this does include more male recipients too.
Events & Activities
Members of the Lions managed to park well over 3,000 cars in two very busy days at the recently held Lancashire Game and Country Festival in Scorton. Our next big event is the annual Community Bonfire and Fireworks display on Sat 6th Nov. The bonfire will be lit at 7:00pm and the spectacular firework display will begin at 7:30pm. Admission to the High Street car park will be from 6:30pm onwards. Prices have been held at very low levels at £4 for adults (over 16) and £1 for school-age children up to 16 years and with pre - school being free. Cash payments only.
