EDITOR’S LETTER
Happy June
D
efinitely my favorite month of the year. Not just because I was born in June, but because it is the moment that marks the arrival of summer. Finally the cold weather end and the prospect of beaches, sea, sun creams and sandals makes everything more positive. Watching inside the issue you will find lots of beauty tips to get to the sea with modeling hair and skin, the latest accessory trends to stay on top and the art shows we found interesting to report this month. We also show you the new 2019 collection of the wedding dresses brand Gemy Maalouf, to become dreamy fairies of haute couture.

TOP FASHION
illustrators
No doubt this is one of the most artistic and creative sides of fashion, the world of illustrators makes the fashionista public dream and can fully satisfy the designers needing to be told by something truly unique. Watercolor, pastels, pantone, colored pencils, collage, there are a thousand techniques and they are often combined together. Some even insert digital parts but the best illustrations remain those where the hands have worked on a sheet. Clean or crude lines, very stylized figures or women reminiscent of the great cartoonists and pop culture; each artist tells us a piece of himself and his way of seeing fashion through his works.
ALINA GRINPAUKA She studied industrial design at the Art academy in Riga, Latvia and in New York. Recently Alina has collaborated on the illustration of a Cosmopolitan Latvia issue. Inspired by high fashion and everyday life moments, her portrayed women have a decisive and elegant look and the texture is important and magnetic; hand painted with charcoal, watercolor and acrylic. The fashion illustration is for her a synthesis of style, story, emotion and moment. A human story, personal but shared that can be

JESSICA DURRANT Based in Atlanta, Georgia. Her work is inspired by her travels around the globe, music, film, fashion, architecture, vintage illustration, and Scandinavian design. Her large client area include big names like Sephora, Jimmy Choo, Lancôme Paris, Kérastase, L’Oreal Paris, NYX Cosmetics just to name a few. Her work has been featured in many big magazines too; Harper’s Bazaar named her a fashion illustrator to follow on Instagram in both 2014 and 2015. With this highly respected curriculum - not mentioned everything - it is clear that the future of this American girl is already written.
JEANETTE GETROST Nominated by Vogue as one of the most in demand and influential illustrators of the industry. Based in Los Angeles, California but she prclaimed herself as Francophila. The peculiarity of her works has quickly attracted the attention of high fashion brands and magazines including - to name a few - Dior, Louboutin, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada and Estee Lauder. Her easily recognizable style - which is fundamental in this work - gives to drawings a timeless mood with a touch of humor, sketches appear elegant but decisive. Having

READY FOR SUMMER?? We all know what to do in summer; don’t put yourself in the sun with little protection, especially in the beginning, drink a lot, consume a lot of vitamin C, workout outdoor in the open air, take betacarotene supplement, etc. To prepare the skin for the sun it is necessary to nourish and protect it in the city before, using appropriate cosmetics and creams, depending on your skin type but also depending on where you live. In cities with humid climates it is good not to overdo the fat moisturizers but to prefer the serum, while increasing the hydration when we are at sea or in dry and ventilated climates will be essential. The hair, in the same way of the skin, are put to the test in the winter with the sudden changes in climate and in the summer they will end up weakening if we have not protected them in advance. So let’s see some “must have” to get to the sea in the best possible way, and continue to have radiant skin and shiny hair even in summer.
LATEST Beauty PROTECTIVE HAIR TREATMENT
The first alarm bell for the hair when we are at the sea is the loss of brightness, but the situation can get worse if we did not take care of our hair in winter. The ideal would be some restorative treatment in your salon before holidays, and then continuing the protection from the sun with very moisturizing oils if you have already badly damaged hair, such as Kérastase Soleil CC Cream. Even after the sea it is important to use protective adjuvants such as aloe gel, an excellent natural moisturizing ingredient that can be applied before shampooing.
SCRUB AWAY Exfoliation of the skin, that’s what we talk about. Indispensable ally all year round but above all to prepare us for summer. In fact, during the winter in the cities smog, polluting particles and impurities are blocked in the superficial layer of our skin. Thanks to the scrub we can eliminate all this in a mechanical way, massaging the product that has micro-granules able to eliminate the dead cells. The skin returns to have a healthy, soft and luminous appearance and is ready for the long-awaited holidays. We recommend that you do not use it more than one -two times a week. LONDON Fashioned from Nature
V&A On now- 27.01.2019
With sustainability on everybody’s mind, the fashion exhibition which explores in depth connection between nature and costume is not one to miss. Innovative fabrics and dyeing processes on display encourage the visitors to question materiality and the resource of their own attire. Exhibition highlights include Emma Watson’s red carpet Calvin Klein gown and Stella McCartney design along with a unique historical collection of 18th century until now. Celebrated for her blunt representation of historical narratives towards African-American culture, Walker’s attitude challenges cultural beliefs and breaks the stigmatised notion of race. She is recognised for piercing storytelling through silhouetted wall works, drawings and videos.
