My concept for a library in New York City was a modern, interactive and community-centered space that offers both traditional library resources and innovative technologybased resources. The library has an open design that invites people to come in and explore. There is plenty of natural light, comfortable seats, and spaces for events near the apmihtheatre for community gatherings.
The library has designated areas for reading, studying, and group collaboration, with comfortable seating and tables for work and study. The amphitheatre helps strengthen the connection between the library and the local community.
To foster a sense of community, the library also offers various programs and events, such as author talks, book clubs, language classes, and cultural events.
Total site built-up, pushing the mass towards the centre.
Pushing the mass down to create an open air amphi-theatre where people can gather and socialize, with plenty of seating.
Dividing the building into two part with the help of an atrium. Atrium helps create a sense of openness and transparency, allowing visitors to see and engage with the library’s various activities.
Creating spaces that accomodates people of all abilities, and spaces that allow community gatherings.
