Growing your business from the ground up since 1890

Dear Customer, Our main focus at Michell’s has always been to sell top quality material from top quality plant breeders and producers with a great track record for service. We rely closely on the partnership we have with our leading vendors to service your horticultural needs and it is our intention to rely on them even more in 2018! Like a great painter who skillfully mixes colors on a palette, Suntory Flowers has magically blended some of nature’s finest colors. The Sun Parasol® Apricot Mandevilla is just one example of a stunning work of plant breeding artistry. Suntory adds depth to Bidens Beedance® with the new solid bright yellow and adds pop to Calibrachoa Million Bells® Butter Pop! with its striking cream color and yellow throat. Other Suntory masterpieces now available as a URC are the Grandessa® argyranthemums, Senetti® pericallis, Soiree® catharanthus and Sun Parasol® Mandevillas. From Syngenta we see the new Sunflower SunfinityTM, breaking all the boundaries as the next generation of sunflower that offers nonstop blooming on well branched plants from spring to summer’s end! The Calliope Geraniums are known for their intense colors, don’t miss Medium Crimson Flame. As a group they are best in class for garden performance, combining the best features of both ivy and zonal geraniums. Green Fuse™ Botanicals is leading the way with the official launch of the perennial Lupine Staircase®! This true breakthrough in Lupines will do nothing short of dazzle the consumer. Tissue culture liners result in numerous, massive flowers over full, clean plants with unbelievable retail appeal. First Light® Perennial Compatibles can be grown like annuals and offer growers a truly unique opportunity for their customers. Pan American launches Pentas Lucky StarTM which has been thoroughly trialed and is bound to eclipse the competition in several ways. It is more uniform in timing and habit, and is 4-6 days earlier to bloom. Secondary blooms follow primary blooms more quickly. Time to start counting your Lucky Stars in sales. Our renewed goals for this year include continued personal service and customer communication. We have recently expanded our Customer Service Department to better assist you and meet your needs. In addition, we are re-evaluating many of our processes and procedures company-wide to improve the customer experience. In order to keep you better informed, look for email updates during the year from our Marketing Department for timely reminders on products to rebook, new vendors, and product specials. Thank you for your continued business and partnership. Have a successful year in 2018! Sincerely,

Henry F. Michell 4th President & CEO

Note: Growing medium should be sterile, well-drained, low in fertility and constantly moist. Transplant 15-21 days after sowing. If grown for mature plants to be sold in the fall-a difficult time for violas, shade and misting can keep plants cool. Keeping soil on the dry side and a low phosphorus charge will reduce stretching.
