Dear Customer, Looking back at 2019, we had high hopes for the continuation of success in 2020. The bookings started strong in July and a positive momentum carried us through Christmas into January. My last event was the MANTS show in Baltimore in early January, and there was a sense from the show that our industry was in good shape. Then things began to change, and the world began facing a new challenge in COVID-19. Michell’s had to adapt, as many companies did, to a new remote model of operating. On March 13th, following a managers' meeting, we set a plan in motion and by the following week, guided by our IT team, we began to work from home.

I am very proud of our team and how they handled the new business challenges they faced on top of the concern for COVID-19. Our customer service group did a great job not missing a beat and our product teams worked in partnership with our vendors to meet the critical needs of our customers. As time went on, we began to hear that consumer demand was strengthening. First in the South with record retail sales, then moving northward as spring reached its peak. By April, we saw orders picking up, making May and June very strong months. We have often heard how important our product is to our human existence. Now we have seen it! I have often said, “There is no Super Bowl commercial you will ever see that has more of an impact on the human psyche than SPRING!”. We have a fabulous advertising campaign every year that was seen and maybe even appreciated more than ever this past season. AMEN! We see a stronger demand for our products continuing well into the future. I even think we got the attention from that ever popular and important group of Millennials we talk so fondly about. We have many new products in this catalog that will excite our audiences for years to come. Multi-colored rosettes grow similar in form to a bush. The rosette center is pale yellow and the larger leaves become progressively greener as they work from the center out, culminating in a brilliant red edge. Kiwi produces yellow flowers in the summer, is drought tolerant, prefers bright sun and is cold hardy to about 25-30 degrees. Water thoroughly but allow the soil to dry out.

ECHEVERIA BLACK PRINCE

Deep purple, almost black rosettes, start out greenish but darken with age. Black Prince produces orange-red flowers in the late fall to early winter. Full sun produces the best color, cold hardy to 25 degrees. This variety needs well drained soil with only occasional waterings.

TOPSY TURVY

With its origins in Mexico, this fast-growing runyonii succulent has silver-gray leaves which curve out and up. The leaf tips point back to the center of the plant, earning its nickname ‘Topsy Turvy’. It produces orange/apricot-colored flowers on tall, arching stems in late summer/early fall. It is cold hardy and drought tolerant. Water at regular intervals. Keep in a well-drained soil.

KALANCHOE (thyrsiflora) FLAPJACK

This variety has a host of nicknames, including Flapjack, Paddle Plant, Dog Tongue, Desert Cabbage, and Ice Sculpture. The fleshy, paddle-like gray green leaves develop a red tinge with full sun. Torch Minty Ice has flowers of the palest blue, a good complement to it’s sister variety Torch Blue. These Lavandula multifidas are perennial, but not quite as hardy as other Lavenders, reliable from USDA Zone 7–11. They will take warmer summers than most other Lavandula species. FREIGHT Shipping charges are invoiced for all below minimum orders. All seed orders under $200.00 will be shipped by US. Mail. FedEx Ground shipping will be no charge to the customers who are pricing volume P1 through P5 on orders exceeding $300.00. Customers who have pricing volume P6 or P7 will not be charge Fedex Ground on orders exceeding $400.00. Customers who have a pricing volume of P8 will not be charged Fedex ground on orders exceeding $600.00. Freight charges are also imposed whenever overnight, next day or second day delivery is requested, or when the package weight exceeds 5 pounds. Items drop shipped from original orders are subject to shipping charges from the vendors. All Michell’s shipments require a signature from a person’s 18 years or older to receive the package. PACKAGING Seed is available in the following package sizes: 0.5M, 1M, 5M, 10M, 25M or BULK (where M = 1,000 seed). Michell’s reserves the right to fulfill seed orders using whatever packages are on hand. Requests for multiple packages incur a fee of $1.00 per package. For example, a seed order for 5M in 1M packages would be charged and extra $4.00 (one dollar for each extra package). SEED FORM Many seed varieties are sold in more than one form. Most seed is sold in its natural (RAW) state. Other forms include: coated (CTD), de-tailed (DET), multi-pellet (MPL), pelletized (PEL), precision multi-pellet (PMPL), and primed (PRI).
