Fashion Week to Street

he beginning of the fall season is always an exciting time. Most people find it refreshing to put away the shorts and sandals and break out the sweaters and boots. Fashionista’s on the other hand get extra excited for a whole new reason, two words: Fashion Week. Fashion week is an event that takes place all over the world at various times in the fall and spring and every A-list celebrity can be spotted sitting front row at a fashion show rocking the latest trends. While Fashion Week is enthralling, it

leaves us making one big sigh and feeling disappointed we were not there and also that we are unable to attain these new fashion pieces off the runway. Fashion Week doesn’t have to be something we vicariously live through via the computer or TV screen. Making fashion week into street wear is easier than you think and you too can feel like the latest “it” girl in the fashion world by knowing how to rock the latest fashion trends and where you can find them at an affordable price. Whether you were at fashion week or you

were chilling in your dorm room, not to worry, here are ways you can work the campus by strutting around your new fashion pieces. Fall Fashion Week 2013 provided us with some trends that are wearable

were featured in many runway shows such as 3.1 Phillip Lim and Ralph Lauren and while it may seem there may be no duplicate to these trendy boots, brands such as Stuart Weitzman, Jeffrey Campbell, and Dolce Vita are just a few that make overthe-knee boots that are close matches to the real deal spotted on the runway. Converting Fashion Week into street wear is all about knowing the trends and where to hunt for these pieces at an affordable price leaving people to think you just got out of the hottest fashion show.

for everyday life, such as oversized coats, over-the-knee boots, knit beanies, slouchy pants, and colors such as winter white and shades of green. Retailers such as H&M, Zara, and Topshop provide access to these trends at a much more affordable price and gives every girl the chance to look fresh off the runway. Over-the-knee boots

has those lazy Get the Look: Everyone days where you just want to roll out of bed and go to Easy Hairstyles class, not having to spend

over an hour on your hair. There are plenty of quick and easy hairstyles that take only minutes but look like you took time to put yourself together. Ponytails, braids, and buns are some go-to hairstyles for those days when all you want to do is keep hitting the snooze button.

Slicked Back Sock Bun Perfect for class or an elegant night out

ASOS Small Hair Donut $9

Sock buns are another quick way to get a put-together look. You can make a sock

bun by cutting the bottom off of an old, tall sock and rolling it into a donut-like shape. You put your hair in a ponytail, either high or low depending on where you want the bun to be. Then you put your ponytail through the hole in the middle of the sock and pull it to the tip of the ponytail. You wrap the end of your hair around the sock, and roll it down to the base of your ponytail. This is an easy hairstyle that can pull your look together in a matter of minutes. You can also add in some fun braids before you create the bun, depending on how much time you have.

Boho Braided Updo Always young and fun!

Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturizing Cream $6

Braids are always a classic look, and only take a few minutes to

do. Also, it doesn’t matter if your hair is a disaster zone; it requires no prepping prior to braiding other than a quick brush. There are the classic french braids, or messy side braids, however this particular up do involving braids is quick and easy but looks fabulous. You part your hair down the middle, then do two small braids in the front sections and two thicker braids in the back. You twist the bottom braids across your head one at a time and bobby pin them in place, then do the same with the smaller front braids, stacking them on top of each other. It takes about ten to twenty minutes, and the finished product looks amazing. All you need are some hair-ties and bobby pins. And if you’re feeling particularly adventurous, you can even throw a headband on top to class it up a bit.

The Classic Pony

New twists on an oldie but a goodie

Ponytails are officially back, and you can make bed head look amazing in just

minutes! You can throw a cute headband on top of a messy ponytail for a chic look, or you could do a small braid across the top to jazz it up a bit. Ponytails can look cool with curls, straight hair, and everything in between. A messy high ponytail with a cute outfit can have an awesome urban look, or a low side ponytail can create a boho-vibe instantly. No matter what look you are going for, a ponytail has the ability to bring it all together.

So, for those days where you cannot bring yourself to spend more than a few min-

utes on your hair, know that there are options! These fun looks only take a matter of minutes and end up looking amazing.
