INTRODUCTION PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE Happy Back-To-School, Key Clubbers! Summer sure went quick this year, but I hope that through hard work and service, you guys had a memorable time this past few months. Now that school's started, it's time for us to get into action! We have recruited over 100 new members over the two days we were at club rush and gotten people to know a hint of what Key Club is about. Isn't that exciting? Also, take note that our first key club meeting will be on Monday, the 9th of September,

Herbert Hoover Key Club President Cherryn Parque (top)

at Ms. Emmett's Class! I'm confident that we will get off to a great start and we will grow over the year as a key club family. I look forward to seeing you guys at the meetings and let's make a memorable year out of it!

A WORD FROM THE EDITOR Hello dearest wolves! How was your last week of summer? Or shall I ask how your first 3 weeks of school was? Thank you all for spreading the word and helping us reach out to more than a 100 people during club rush! I hope to see every one of you at our first meeting in Room 11220! Now here is your last newsletter for this summer! Though there weren’t many events, I wish you a happy reading!

AUGUST 27 & 29: CLUB RUSH AUGUST 31: 626 NIGHT MARKET

ARTICLES

626 NIGHT MARKET Being the largest Asian market in the nation, this event surely needed volunteers which our Division has signed up for. Volunteering at this event has opened my eye to new food and restaurants and bakeries. Our key clubbers had helped out vendors prepare for the night’s festivities and were given a special card to try some of their food. This is surely one event I’ll be looking forward to next year! - Eileen Wisco HHS Bulletin Editor

JOIN KEY CLUB!

RECOGNITIONS MEMBER OF THE MONTH: CHRIS CHUNG Being one of the newest additions to Hoover’s key club, Chris Chung has got to be one of the most devoted of them all. It all started when our president invited him to March of Dimes, and ever since, he’s been going to all of the events we establish in the past two months. He keeps everyone lively and spirited, and will volunteer for help whenever it is needed. Outside of key club, however, he is and oboe in Hoover’s marching band, and is currently in various clubs form STEM to Food. All in all, Chris has definitely been the ideal member anyone can follow. Great job, Chris!

OFFICER OF THE MONTH: CHERRYN PARQUE Last year as an officer, she aided Jeannie with many of the club’s finances, and was later known as a distinguished treasurer of 2012. Now as a key club president, Cherryn has brought her absolute best onto every event she has assigned. Regardless of being part of many clubs at Hoover, she is still devoted to put key club first, even being absent for an ACSY meeting. During the club rush, because of her, we were able to recruit over 100 people to join the club, and encouraged our officers to participate in a lot more events, raising our numbers through spirit. Thanks to Cherryn, we have been the most successful this year for 2013. Awesome job, Cherryn!
