INTRODUCTION A Word from the President…
Greetings, Key Clubbers! It's been a fabulous month serving all of you guys as I saw great progress and hard work put in by each and every one of you. For example, I saw great dedication and work at Kiwanis Duck Splash, where we had such a fantastic number of people coming out to help the community. I received great feedback from the adults in Kiwanis about the work you put in and it was amazing to hear how much difference we could make by simply showing up and giving others a hand. Even walking those 6.2 miles the very next day at AIDs Walk wasn't easy, but we got through it with determination and fiery passion to support the a good cause. Although we may seem like normal high school students, we can take a single step outside and create such a difference in the world. As the month comes to a closure, I want to remind you to keep the service going and always be proud to be a key clubber. Best regards,
Cherryn Parque
Hello dearest Key Clubbers! I would like to start off by stating how amazing it was seeing you all active this past month and I hope for you guys to keep up the great work! This month was sure full of service events (let alone fright fests) along with our funds for Fall Rally. This brings me to ask… Are you guys ready for Fall Rally South 2013?! This is one event you sure don’t want to miss! (More information about Fall Rally is to be told along with your events for this month in this newsletter) To bring closure to my message, I must ask: Do you have any pictures, or anything to say of your favorite event? Email me at d03s.hhkc.bulletined@gmail.com so that I may possibly use your photos and articles for the next newsletter! See you all at Fall Rally South and happy reading! Your Bulletin Editor,

DUCK SPLASH 2013
From set up time to the end of the day, we anticipated to raise funds for our club by running the “Chicken Chuck booth. Majority of the members that signed up came that day (more help than needed) and because one of the other clubs in our division were in need of help, we were able to have some of our members come to their rescue! It was surely one successful event thanks to our awesome wolves!

AIDS WALK LOS ANGELES 2013 6.2 miles and we’re closer than ever. From the starting line ‘til we’ve made around to the finish line, we’ve kept close and gotten to know one another. The (exhausting) event and its great clutter of people didn’t have us lose anyone – even when we came about stoplights and were divided into smaller groups; we always seemed to find our way into regrouping. I’ll always remember though that AIDS Walk wasn’t just an event for the goodness of our club in making lone wolves an actual part of the wolf pack, but for us to help out the good people of America, and learn that this is exactly why we’re involved with Key Club.
SMALL SERVICE EVENTS THAI TEA BOBA SALE – October 25th
During lunch, few officers and members sold Thai tea boba for $3 that would contribute to our funds for this year’s Fall Rally South.
HALLOWEEN HOOPLA – October 25th
Occurring on the same day as our Thai Tea Boba Sale, few of our Key Clubbers went to Thomas Edison Elementary to help out with their Halloween Hoopla event (4-6pm).
UCLA KEY TO COLLEGE – October 27th
On Sunday, October 27th, UCLA CKI hosted their annual “Key to College” event. Sign in started at 9am, with the actual event beginning at 10am and ending at 5pm in Royce Hall. Because of the many Key Clubbers from different divisions, the event had split the attendees into 2 groups – the 1st group would tour the campus while the 2nd group attended workshops and after lunch they would switch their schedules.
RECOGNITIONS MEMBER OF THE MONTH: Jeong A Cha ♼
Although this is her first year as a member of Hoover's key club, she is already known for being one of the most devoted ones. In every event, she does her work diligently, and is always around to help whenever somebody simply asks her. You will never see her complain about any of her duties as a member, and she is always happy to serve her community. She is also known for always being there for her peers. During AIDS Walk, she was able to support both Hoover's volleyball team and key club in the 6 mile walk. Jeong A has grown to be a strong and happy individual in our key club, and she is still dedicated to learn in the next three years in high school. Keep up the good work Jeong A!
OFFICER OF THE MONTH: Eileen Wisco Eileen is clearly one of our most important officers for this term. Without her, Hoover's key club would not have thrived as much as it did today. As our current bulletin editor, she always adds stunning visuals and clear photos that can catch anyone's eye. Being an active member, she also goes out to almost every event to take pictures in order to perfect the monthly newsletter. She enjoys making new friends, so do not be shy to approach her! At school, Eileen is constantly going to her cross country practices making it difficult for her to put key club into her schedule. However, she still prevails to make the club her first priority. She was able to go to every event in the month of October, even though she was sick with the flu! She is also known for being really organized when it comes to fixing a problem, which is why many of our meetings are always so neat and orderly. Eileen is definitely a warm face to see at an event, and we are so blessed to have her.
NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS FRIDAY, NOV. 1 – Dorris Place Elementary Fall Festival Two shifts - 3:30 to 6:30 pm & 6:30 to 9:30 pm

ARE YOU READY FOR IMPORTANT: Remember to bring your $9 for spirit gear and $7-$8 for the bus ON THE DAY OF FALL RALLY
FALL RALLY SOUTH?! Due to the District's massive size, two Fall Rallies are held each year; one in Northern California at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, one in Southern California at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Thousands of members gather at each of the two theme parks on their selected day, one in October, one in November. At Fall Rally North and South, LTGs and Executive officers are "auctioned" off to Divisions; the winning Division is able to then spend a designated period of time with the "purchased" officer. Auction funds and a portion of the ticket sales for both events go towards the Pediatric Trauma Program. – CNH District Website
More info to be told at our Monday meeting (Nov. 4) at lunch in Rm. 11220 along with review of cheers.
