INTRODUCTION A WORD FROM THE PRESIDENT Hey there, key clubbers! Our first month together has gone by and still there's so much more exciting things coming up. I was thrilled to see all of your new faces at the first meeting and get to know a lot of you guys. Even better, you can't imagine my joy when I saw such a great number come out to Salvation Army! I can't believe how much you guys inspire me to become a better person as I see all the miraculous things you do as key clubbers. As president, I hope to get to know each and every one of you. Never be afraid to ask questions or offer suggestions as members - I am here to serve you guys! Let's keep up the good work, always proud of y'all!

A WORD FROM THE EDITOR Hello dearest key clubbers! I hope you are all doing well with school. Might I say that seeing all returning and new members come out to the events this month has really marked a great start to what will be one GOLDEN year of service! Hope to see more of your faces next month especially! And with these upcoming events, I must ask: Do you have any pictures, or anything to say of your favorite event? Email me at d03s.hhkc.bulletined@gmail.com so that I may possibly use your photos and articles for the next newsletter! HHS Bulletin Editor Eileen Wisco at Region 7 Training Conference

SEPTEMBER 9: FIRST MEETING OF THE YEAR! SEPTEMBER 12: BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT THAI TEA BOBA FUNDRAISER SEPTEMBER 14: Child S.H.A.R.E Gala SEPTEMBER 21: SALVATION ARMY RICE & BEANS FOOD DRIVE SEPTEMBER 28: REGION 7 TRAINING CONFERENCE

ARTICLES

BACK-TO-SCHOOL NIGHT THAI TEA BOBA FUNDRAISER Herbert Hoover High’s Back-To-School Night was held on September 12 from 5:30pm to 8:20pm. Before entering the classrooms, parents are of course able to grab a few refreshments sold by numerous clubs. Our key clubbers participated that night in selling Thai tea boba for a cost of $3. This fundraiser was a great way for our members to start out after having our first meeting of the year just a couple days beforehand! It’s surely one event our members are willing to partake in and greatly contributes to our club!

SALVATION ARMY RICE & BEANS FOOD DRIVE On Saturday, September 21st, Herbert Hoover High key clubbers worked alongside with Glendale Community College Circle K and a couple other schools (whom were under different organizations) to help pack rice and beans for Salvation Army. Our members took much of the space at the service event with 40 signing up and 33 showing up. Even though 7 of our members weren’t able to make it, it sure was one packed simple event that had us finish real early! Kudos to the many key clubbers that had partaken during that one hour of service!

RECOGNITIONS MEMBER OF THE MONTH: Annika Arambulo As a new addition of key club, Annika has already joined a vast amount of events in the past month, giving her twice as many service hours many of the current members had. During every event, she has contributed herself with great enthusiasm, and is always willing to do the heavy lifting, regardless of her small stature. She has a bubbly personality and is willing to make a long lasting conversation with every person she meets. In school, she is currently part of Hoover's choir and journalism staff, and is maintaining good grades in all of her classes. As a member and student, she is known to be responsible by all her peers. Thus, Annika herself is the epitome of a great member and is always a great face to see at events.

OFFICER OF THE MONTH: Eileen Wisco Eileen is clearly one of our most important officers for this term. Without her, Hoover's key club would not have thrived as much as it did today. As our current bulletin editor, she always adds stunning visuals and clear photos that can catch anyone's eye. She also goes out to almost every event to take pictures in order to perfect the monthly newsletter. She enjoys making new friends, so do not be shy to approach her! At school, Eileen is constantly going to her cross country practices making it difficult for her to put key club into her schedule. However, she still prevails to make the club her first priority. She is also known for being really organized when it comes to fixing a problem, which is why many of our meetings are always so neat and orderly. Eileen is definitely a warm face to see at an event, and we are so glad to have her.
