NEW CUSTOM-BUILT TECHNOLOGY CHIP From now on all our tools will feature a custom-build chip (BS84C) designed specifically for fast and easy temperature reactions - giving heat-adjustment a whole new dimension. The chip reacts to the slightest touch of your finger on the temperature panel and monitors the temperature several hundred times per second - making temperature-adjustments faster than you can blink. Finally, our Watchdog timer ensures that any tool is turned to sleep mode after 60 minutes - just in case.

NEW ALUMINUM PLATE AND COATING Another updated feature is the coating of our plates that now feature triple powder coating with ceramic, titanium, Teflon, natural oils and tourmaline. The plates are baked between each coating - giving an extra hardness and smoothness to the plates - all to ensure maximum smooth less friction and less damage to the hair, no matter the temperature. Not stopping at that, we’ve also updated the aluminum base, to create as durable a product as possible.

'IONIC BONDING' TECHNOLOGY Our Ionic Bonding Technology is what makes hair drying with a HH Simonsen hairdryer unique. When drying your hair the airstream from the hairdryer carries ions that interact with the surface of your hair. In short, negative ions remove charge and positive ions add it - and it all affects health of your hair. Our Ionic Bonding Technology makes negative and positive ions bind together to create a protective layer over the hair, that neutralizes static electricity leaving the hair healthy, smooth and shiny.

UPDATED HEAT SENSORS All of our electric tools feature our unique HH Simonsen Heat Zone-technology, that constantly measures the temperature of the tools surface. This information is sent to a built-in microcomputer, that automatically fine-tunes the temperature - making sure the temperature is always exactly what it’s set to - to protect your hair from heat damage. GREAT HAIR WITH A GOOD CONSCCIOUSNESS Sustainability and social responsibility are continuously becoming more and more important - in all aspects of our lives. Also, when it comes to the products we wash and style our hair with. At HH Simonsen we believe that you should have beautiful hair - with a good and green consciousness. That’s why sustainability is an integral part of our business. We have a natural responsibility to think and act in sustainable ways and make choices that are socially responsible - both in a local and in an global perspective. In the production of our products we only collaborate with companies that take active responsibility to impact the environment as little as possible. And we of course both expect and check that all our partners around the world respect human rights and offer their workers good working conditions. We strive to think and act as green as possible. For exam-

ple, by reducing the use of materials that are harmful to the environment - which is why all our bags are now sustainable, poison free and biodegradable. One of our latest initiatives has been to remove a layer of varnish and color pigments on the surface of many of our styling tools. Instead they now feature a beautiful, matte finish, which was already part of the existing design. A choice that doesn’t just save the environment in the production of these tools but will also benefit when the tool - many years from now - is sent to recycling. And we’re continuing like this. To develop and work to make our products and our production more and more green. WE’RE STILL HERE

A lot can happen in 18 years. Just imagine what’s happened in your own life since 2003. A lot has changed in the world, in the hairdressing industry and in our little company since HH Simonsen was founded. But luckily there are also things that have roots so deep they stay in place no matter which way the wind blows. HH Simonsen is 100% privately owned and is still run by the three friends who founded the company. “HH Simonsen is our shared dream, and I can’t even imagine that we wouldn’t continue. We’re not even close to being done yet,” tells Claus Nissen, who, together with Lisbet Simonsen and Hans Schmidt founded the company. Since then, the three have added Stig Jensen to the group of owners. According to Claus Nissen the fact that the three founders are still part of the company, also means something in regard to their way of doing business. He believes that there is an even bigger focus on being a responsible and loyal business partner now when the company’s reputation is so closely connected to oneself.

PURE PASSION FOR THE CRAFT

You can’t take the hairdresser out of the hairdresser. At least both Claus Nissen and Lisbet Simonsen are still practicing, and at a level where they are both taking part in shows and educating all over the world. Not only because it’s hard for them to keep their hands off the scissors and curling irons, but also because the ambition has always been to heighten the level in the industry. And the best way to do so is by staying up to date, by being at eye level with colleagues in salons all over the country and by sharing your skills. This also means that teaching and educating is an important part of HH Simonsen’s portfolio. When it comes to educating Claus Nissens primary focus is on cutting hair and on a series of scissors that HH Simonsen has created in collaboration with the established producer Excellent Edges. Lisbet Simonsen has the overall responsibility for styling and for HH Simonsens wide range of electric styling tools.

SIZE DOESN’T MATTER [ XS DRYER ]

A hairdryer isn’t just a hairdryer. It might have been like that once - a machine that simply blew warm air out to get bone-dry hair in seconds. But bone-dry hair is neither beautiful nor healthy. Today the story is completely different, and your hairdryer is the first step to perfect hair, after you’ve stepped out of the shower. “The only tools you need” I’ve been doing hair for 19 years and I have used many scissors, but after switching to Excellent Edges six years ago, I will not work with anything else! When I started using them instead of all- purpose scissors, not only did I see an improvement in my haircuts – the grow out was also much smoother. It’s like my haircuts were lasting longer. Mantaray is one of my favourites because I like blunt cuts, and I love that Fuji Royal Blue gives me a lot of room for maneuver when cutting. FACEMASK The HH Simonsen facemask is specially designed for increased everyday comfort. The mask is shaped for the face with a ”low cut design” which automatically gives more space around eyes, nose and mouth. The rubber straps have a flat design that doesn´t tighten on the ears. Furthermore there´s an extra thick seam across the bridge of the nose so the mask fits tightly but comfortably around the nose. The mask has a double layer of cloth with an extra tight cottonweaving. The tight weaving gives a good and efficient ”mask effect”.

Ergonomics are the pivotal point/the key to a long and healthy life in the hairdressing business. Bad ergomics often begin with a wrong grip on the scissors – and this leads to bent wrists and wrong use of your fingerjoints and muscles. For the first 8-10 days pay attention to adjusting the centerscrew of the scissors as the rubber-ring placed between the centerscrew and the steel is bew and must adjust to the scissors. Apart from that you must cut with a lighter pressure of the thumb than before the service. Don´t cut with the centerscrew too loose in the tightening. If the centerscrew is too loose or if you pressure too hard with your thumb it may cause instant damage to the scissors edge.

We all know the struggles and the challenges of cutting and styling curly hair. Many women have curls, but don’t know how to tame them. And many hairdressers haven’t been properly trained in cutting curls – often working on instinct alone. This workshop will give you insight into the world of curls. You will be walked through the basics of cutting curly hair, different cutting methods and how to properly style it. In short, the workshop will enable you to cut curly hair with great control and ability.

If you wish to completely master the art of cutting curly hair – from soft waves to tight curls – this workshop goes into depth with this craft – going into depth on the importance of using triangle sections when cutting curly hair. The workshop focuses on two specific cuts for curly hair, that you can take directly back to your salon and use on your clients. One of the hairstyles is created to fit both curly and straight hair, to fit any client you may have.

WOMEN'S CUT [ #1 UNDERSTANDING TEXTURE ]

Texture and dry cutting are becoming more and more important methods to master, as customers wish for hair that’s versatile yet easy to style and maintain.

Classical cutting lines have always been an inherent part of hair fashion, and are suitable for women of all ages, types of hair and head shapes. And classical lines aren’t always straight – they can be concave, convex or even diagonal, as seen in pointcutting. The workshop primarily works in three segments: Ergonomic body posture, point cutting and the variation of classical lines and the effect these can have, depending on which scissor is used. Often, we use a scissor design that doesn’t provide the required strength and power needed for cutting classical lines fast and accurate.

In this workshop, we focus on how to understand and meet the customers’ needs, when it comes to adding texture, creating dry cutting segments and giving the hair a personal touch. The workshop will walk you – step-by-step – through the world of texture cutting, and how to use your intuition during the haircut. You will also get an introduction to Excellent Edges, who creates scissors that give you great creative freedom and unmatched quality.

Bob design, graduation, straight fringe and scissor over comb are all methods that will be brought to a new level during this course.

[ #3 U NDERSTANDING HAIR MANIPULATION ] We know that hair doesn’t always move or fall the exact way we want, which can give both you and the customer a hard time styling the hair. The secret to perfectly manipulating hair? Cutting it dry, which allows you to make it move in any direction you want, or to add or remove volume in a finished hairstyle. We also know that cutting straight lines can be a struggle – and how powerful scissors and easy techniques can be combined to create perfectly straight lines in only a few steps. Using excellent edges scissors, that have the cutting power needed to control and manipulate the hair, this workshop teaches you to reach the exact result that your customer is dreaming of.

Short hair has never been more versatile. From a blunt cut to a pixie crop, or simply lifting the hair to lob-length – chopping off some length can be extremely liberating. The face-flattering, lowmaintenance cut is a timeless choice, and we all know the moment when a customer is ready for a drastic change.

Over time, hair trends have come in and out of fashion. From straight lines and graphic cuts to soft waves or a tight curl. As we move into 2020, we’re looking for a cut that’s casual and simple, yet looks effortlessly beautiful – this decade, fashionable hair has a personal touch and a DIY-vibe.

This course will teach you the must-know techniques of creating and shaping short cuts, that are elegant and feminine, and how to make sure the cut fits the face shape of your customer. With a few simple steps, you’ll be well equipped to create a short cut, that feels classic yet modern. .

This workshop will teach you simple but effective techniques that can add movement to a haircut and give it a perfectly messy feeling. We will work with how to challenge your craft, and how to use your scissors in new, creative ways.

During this workshop, you will learn highly structured wet cutting and high-grade precision cutting, as well as how to cut graduation shapes.
