NOTES FROM THE BOSS DEAN GIBSON
Hibernian's Head Coach gives his thoughts on the draw with City, the return of fans and tonight's game against Celtic.
I was happy with the performance on Sunday, we played very well and looked dangerous at both ends of pitch. It was nice for the players to finally get a reward for their efforts. We have been defensively solid for the majority of the season now. So it wasn’t a surprise for me to see us keep a clean sheet. We defend as a team very well from the striker right down to the goalkeeper. It was brilliant to have the fans back in. Just hearing the noises when a decision went for or against their team made it feel like a real football game again. It definitely gives everyone an extra 10% boost. The Celtic game will be tough, but no tougher than any of the other games. Each team is very different and pose there own threats. It’s up to us to identify that, then up to players to carry out the work on the pitch. I’m confident we can do that against any team. Celtic are a very good side and one we will show our respect to, but I’m confident of winning any game and this is no different. Fans can expect just the same as before. We are such a hard working team. The players play with great pride for themselves, each other and the badge. I’m sure we will get more of them same tonight with hopefully more goals.
THE CHANGING ROOM COLETTE CAVANAGH
The talented winger talks about making 50 appearances for Hibs and welcoming fans back to our final matches. Sunday's 0-0 draw with Glasgow City held some significance for Colette Cavanagh, as she made her 50th appearance for Hibernian Women: "Obviously, I'm delighted to achieve 50 appearances with Hibs. It came as a great surprise, as I never knew I'd hit that milestone!" Colette was her usual self in Sunday's match against City, as she sprinted up and down the pitch, dragging the opposing midfield all over the park. While she was happy with one point, she felt as though Hibs could have secured the win: "It was the most exciting 0-0 draw and I believe we could’ve stolen all three points! The togetherness, desire and work rate of the team really showed through our performance, from the defence right up to the attack." It's another huge match for Hibs, as they cap off a triple header against the top three in the league against Celtic - Colette is feeling confident: "We’re taking the positives from the City game and will apply this to the Celtic game. It will be a tough game but we have shown that we can compete with the top teams and we are ready to get another great result." Sunday's match also saw the return of fans for the first time this season, with Penicuik Park opening its doors to the Hibernian faithful this Wednesday. Colette is ecstatic to have supporters back: "Not having fans has been a big miss for us this year. We have brilliant supporters and we’re excited to see and hear them again. Hopefully we put on a good show for them!"
