NOTES FROM THE BOSS

DEAN GIBSON The head coach is delighted with his side’s start to the season but knows how big a test today will be. I think with the start we have had it’s put us in a good place mentally going into the game this weekend. From a defensive point of view I think we have limited the opposition to very little in the opening two fixtures and at the other end of the pitch we have created a lot of chances and managed to convert a decent number of them. Hopefully come the end of the game this weekend we have performed to the same levels. Rangers are a team playing with confidence and energy. They have quality players all through their squad and we know that if we don’t play to our maximum we will get punished. That said I’m sure that is a mutual feeling and if Rangers don’t play to their maximum, we will do the same. That sets us up, hopefully, for an exciting game. We are delighted

“TO THE FANS I’D LIKE TO SAY THANKS FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT. WE WILL DO OUR UPMOST TO KEEP THE THREE POINTS IN EDINBURGH THIS SUNDAY.” with the start to the season we have had. It’s two games we expected to take six points from, but we are more happy in the manner we have done it. We have looked very convincing in both games this season: both from a defensive and attacking point of view. Hopefully we can take that form and confidence into the game this weekend.

gardless of the calendar we have to play. At the end of this run of fixtures we go into an Edinburgh Derby so it doesn’t matter who we play, each game will posses it’s own challenge for different reasons. It’s certainly a positive time for the women’s game.

To the fans I’d like to say thanks for your continued support. We all see the messages and encourWe’re excited about agement they give us the upcoming games on social media and this month. We will do ers want to play in our upmost to keep and thankfully for the the three points in SBS Scottish Women’s Edinburgh this SunPremier League there day. THE CHANGING ROOM

SHANNON LEISHMAN The full-back has cemented her place in the starting line-up this season and is full of confidence after scoring last weekend. Of course Rangers will be the toughest test we will have come across so far this season, there’s no doubt about that. The challenge is going to be tough but I feel as a group we are excited for this test. It’s what our hard work, week in, week out, in training is for - the games on a Sunday. I feel we are all positive coming from winning our first two games but 100% we know how difficult it is going to be and we won’t take Rangers lightly.

a lot more to come

room for error.

In my opinion playing in a tight 2-1 can show a lot from a team mentally as you can’t switch off and can’t afford to make any mistakes so it is tough but proves

It’s obviously natural that each game will have nerves but good nerves for each one. This month we will come up against three different teams who we will have a different perspective on we will take each game as it comes. We have a great group of girls so I have no doubt we will go and put up a great fight in every single game we play this season not just against the current top four. Every game matters and every win is crucial for the season ahead.

“I FEEL AS A GROUP WE ARE EXCITED FOR THIS TEST. IT’S WHAT OUR HARD WORK WEEK IN, WEEK OUT IS FOR - THE GAMES ON A SUNDAY. WE ARE ALL POSITIVE Personally this season has been positive for COMING FROM me. Having a tough WINNING OUR time in previous FIRST TWO.” seasons with game time and keeping as fit as I could coming into this season and Dean trusting me has shown my hard work off the pitch has paid off and receiving the game time. It was also great to get on the score-sheet last weekend so it has been a positive start and hopefully I have

a lot on the mental side. I’d say I learn much more from a close 2-1 but it is also good when it’s an open 6-0 as you can try things you haven’t tried before, feel more relaxed in the situation because a tight 2-1 is always tense and there’s no

We miss the fans being there just as much as they miss watching or coming along. In tough times we appreciate all your support through social media and watching online or on TV. Keep supporting and we hope to see you all back watching us as soon as possible!

MALKY THOMSON’S SIDE HAVE ENJOYED A STRONG START TO THE SEASON, SITTING 3RD IN THE SWPL TABLE.

OPPOSITION FOCUS

RANGERS FC We take a brief look into our oppnents for today, who have also started the season with a 100% record.

R

angers are a new-look side this season after heavy investment and development of their squad. So far that has paid off as the Glasgow side have picked up six points. They’re first victory came against Heart of Midlothian. Malky Thomson’s side ran out 5-1 winners over the newly promoted side. After the international break, the Light Blues travelled through to Edinburgh to take on another capital outfit. Despite dominating the game, Spartans made it a much tougher afternoon and it was only a controversial goal which gave Rangers the three points.

HIBERNIAN WOMEN SQUAD

Our players and staff would like to extend a warm welcome and thank you to all of the sponsors this season. Their support, as ever, goes a long way in helping the team strive for success on and off the pitch.
