Fireworks Fireworks were made in China. They were created by accident by a Chinese cook working in a field kitchen. It was invented in ancient China. Fireworks are used on Chinese New Year, births of babies, deaths, and birthdays. Fireworks are also used to scare away “Evil Spirits.” We hope you learned something about Chinese Fireworks!

Gunpowder was invented in 200 AD. The military used explosives in the 900’s.The first use of rockets was in in the 1232. In the 700’s inns offered horses and food to travelers. In 994 AD the Chinese use fire arrows for ba9les. Tzu Tung was a9acked by an army of 100k men.

Paper money is a Currency. It is used in many countries. Did you know it was invented in the 9th century by the Tang Dynasty? It beneďŹ ts China because it is lighter than coins. They made paper with block prin@ng.


In 2200 BC Egyp@ans discovered paper could be formed. People took thin pieces of paper and soaked them in the water and they mixed it with a special formula. Chai Lun was the person who invented paper. He made rope pieces, fishing nets, rags , bamboo fibers, and tree bark. He made his paper by boiling up all the raw material, wood ash, or lime for up to 35 days.

Paper is used to make many things. There are a few of them, such as drawing paper, prin@ng pictures from the computer, wri@ng stories or synopsis, maps to tell us where to go, newspaper to tell us informa@on for our town, paper plates to eat off, paper bags for groceries, towels to clean things, paper cups to drink out off, envelopes to send things in, wrapping papers to wrap presents, posters to tell us informa@on and folders to put stuff in.


Porcelain is used for teacups, teapots, vases and other uses. Porcelain is expensive but beau@ful and rare. Porcelain is transparent. Porcelain was invented by Tao Yu.

Prin@ng is the second great inven@on and it was made in 206 BC. 1000 years later, The printer was invented by Jonathan Gutenburg. It helped the Chinese communicate long-distance by sending le9ers.

Now we can write to each other from long distances And we don't have to write on blocks.

Silk… May it always be with you...

Where the silk comes from…

Our precious silk comes from a bug called “Silkworm Silkworm’ Silkworm or the scary ‘Spider”. Spider”.

To know how Silk came to be, you have to go back into the past of China, to around 3,630 BC, into the famous and very Cultural Ancient China. Around that time, the oldest piece of silk was found, it’s now at least 5-or 6,000 years old, (That’s some pretty old fabric.)

Did you ever wonder who gave the Yellow Emperor the silk? The Goddess Xi Ling-Shi gave the Yellow Emperor Silk. Silk in used in knitting, ribbons, and ties including kimonos used in traditional ceremonies’, and back in ancient China, were used


The spinning wheel was made in China in 1035. It was in the Mongol Dynasty .It was brought into Europe in the 14th century. It was made by Chinese people. It was made because spinners needed a method to deal with long tough silk threads .

The spinning wheel has impacted the lives of all people because it is easily operated by one person. The spinning wheel also helped people make silk faster. The inven@on was used for stretching align ďŹ bers.

The abacus was A simple invention used by merchants. The abacus has a bamboo frame and bamboo sticks that divide the beads in different places. It’ s used to solve equations like division, subtraction, addition and multiplication. Originally it was made by orient and string. Today it has a bamboo frame. It’ s also called a counting frame. Its still used by merchants today. that’ s all about the abacus.
