Chapter 1: Bats

Well, this animal is endangered because of poisoned chemicals from around their habitat and they think

it’s a treat. Also because of poisoned insects, if bats eat them they will slowly die a1er ea/ng it.


Chapter 2: Chimpanzees

Habitat Chimps live in Africa with other chimps. They live in large trees and plants. They also build themselves nests. Some chimps live in zoos others live in wood lands, grasslands, and Africa rainforest. They also live in preserves. Some chimps are losing there homes. They lose there homes from humans and habitat destruc/on.

Chimpanzees are hunted by poachers and sold to restaurants. Once they are found dead they are eaten by loggers. They are dying and

Ebola virus. They are also dying from bush meat hunters, habitat destruction, and human hands.


Chapter 3: Elephants

Why This Animal Is Endangered Elephants are losing their habitats and are killed during wars. Another reason they are endangered is because they are hunted, traded for their tusks, and there is not enough food.


Chapter 4: Frogs

Frogs have different sized bodies. Some are large , some are small, and some are medium. Their skin is also very

moist and some have mucus on them. Most frogs have webbed feet. They also have very strong legs for catching their prey. Most tree frogs have s/cky pads on their feet for climbing on trees.

Diet

Some frogs eat a lot of different foods, like snails, spiders,

and ants. Some frogs even eat small fish. They also

Behaviors As you all know all frogs jump and some swim in water. Frogs lay thousands of eggs. Now that’s a lot of eggs. Did you know frogs store water? To catch its food they ick its tongue quickly to catch its prey. Some frogs even kill!

Habitat Frogs live in every con/nent except for Antarc/ca. Most frogs live in rain forests, grass lands and deserts. Frogs always live near water, marshes or swamps. For winter frogs dig underground to stay warm.

Frogs are endangered because they absorb chemicals. Also people drain rivers, streams, and lakes and people also get rid of trees. That is why frogs are endangered.


Chapter 6: Leopards

Diet Leopards eat many foods including monkeys , warthogs, birds, goats ,antelope,

snakes, dogs, sheep, porcupines, fish, crabs, and humans. Did you know leopards hang their food

Behaviors Leopards can jump very far and high. Also leopards are very aggressive and protect their territory by doing circles around it. They don’t let anything get even close to it.

Habitat Many leopards live in forests, deserts, and mountains. Leopards like warm climates but some prefer cold climates. Some/mes they even live in reserved areas.

Chapter 7: Manatees Physical Description DID YOU KNOW… KNOW

Manatees use their blubber to keep warm. Manatees have small round eyes, and large lips for ea/ng plants. They have /ny pieces of hair on their thick gray skin. Manatee also have two flippers to steer

their bodies in the ocean. They use their sharp front teeth for bi/ng and chewing their food. Their fluke tail is important because it helps the manatee to move faster up and down in the water. Finally, the manatee use their nostrils to breath under the water.

HOW CAN WE HELP THIS ANIMAL? We can help the manatee by making it illegal to hunt them.

Diet Manatees eat sea grass, algae, and shore plants. Because they only eat plants they

are herbivores.


Behavior

Manatees are very good swimmers even though they swim slow. They live alone but if it it gets cold they will group together in a warm spot. They will migrate if water gets cold.

Habitat Manatees live in warm climates like Florida, West India, West Africa and the Amazon. They are born under water and live year around in warm shallow water. They live in rivers, canals, lagoons and coastal water which can be either fresh or salt water.

Manatees are very good swimmers.

Manatees are endangered because they are hunted by people. The hunters kill them and sell the meat to make money. They also get stuck in the nets of

Chapter 9: Pandas

Chapter 10: Rhinoceros

DID YOU KNOW…

Physical Description

Diet Rhinos eat lots of plants, bamboo and fruits like mangos. A lot of them also like to feed at night.

Some of them find mineral biscuts and shrubs.


Behaviors All of them love to be alone and if you bother them they will get aggressive Some of them will charge at you or other animals. If other animals sleep with him he or her ďŹ nd a new home.

Habitat All rhinos need to be close to water and needs to live near tall weeds. Some of them live on mountains and also forest areas.

Chapter 12: Wolves
