PROLOGUE
Once upon a me there was a leprechaun named Paddy O’Shamrock. Paddy was in charge of an enormous pot of gold. He kept his gold just underneath the end of a long rainbow. Paddy’s job was to guard the gold un l St. Patrick’s Day, and that was just a week away. One bright March morning Paddy awoke – and the gold was gone! This isn’t the way this is supposed to happen! He ran into the forest shou ng, “The gold is gone. The gold is gone!” Bridget, a brightly colored bird blew over him and chirped down, “Paddy, I see your pot of gold. Ustes, the useless unicorn, is galloping north, carrying a pot of shiny gold on his back.” Paddy just had to get that gold!
Chapter 1: The Help By: Bre3 and Sophia
Paddy was stuck trying to think of a way to track Ustes, when along came Seamus the seagull. “Paddy what’s wrong?” “Ustes took the gold!” “Then I’ll go get some help!” Three minutes later, Seamus came back with griffon named Tuesday and a lama with a rainbow afro whose name was a secret. The four friends hatched a plan to catch Ustes . Seamus started the plan to fly ahead. He saw Rumpels ltskin and Mr. P on his back. Mr. P spo3ed Seamus and started to shoot pringles. What ustes and his friends were not aware of was the griffon, then lama and Paddy were se8ng up a net right ahead of them. Mr. P saw the net first and jumped off Ustes. He exploded into mini pringle chips. Then Rumpels llskin spo3ed the net, too, and jumped off. Ustes ran like the wind away from Seamus but got caught in the net. The gold flew up in the air like a bird. Tuesday caught it and gave it to Paddy. Then Tuesday got a phone call and had to leave. The lama put Paddy on his back with the shimmering gold. They ran into a chicken coop. The smaller chickens threw eggs at them. They were about to leave when they realized that there were 3 huge chickens blocking the exit. The lama kicked the 3 chickens. “Hiyah!” The lama and Paddy ran to a cave. Then the lama gave Paddy a Mountain Dew and le= because he was bored. Soon Paddy fell asleep. He woke up to the sound of screaming. Then he realized that an Indian was drinking his Mountain Dew. The Mountain Dew was screaming, ”Don’t drink me! I’m Paddy’s!” Paddy took his pot of gold and ran. Then he sat down and thought, “Yeah!” Paddy had his gold for good, this me. He thought so, anyway.
Chapter 2: The Trolls By: Bella Kamykowski and Lija Vigants
Paddy hoped to return to his rainbow with his pot of gold, but before he went far, he slipped! The pot tumbled down the side of the hill and fell, kersplash! into the River Shannon. Now what to do? Paddy leapt out and tried to get the gold. He skidded into the mud and then the river. Paddy whooshed down the river. He couldn’t stop or see with all the water splashing in his face. Out of nowhere, Paddy slipped into a dark cave. He crawled on a rock and started looking for food and water when… an evil troll appeared. “What’s your name?” Paddy asked nervously. Troubleness the Terrible Troll,” he answered grumpily. “What are you doing here?” Troubleness asked. “I got lost,” Paddy cried A second later, Troubleness’s family appeared. His mom yelled “You’re as slick as a burglar!” to Paddy. “I am not,” squealed Paddy. “You’re as messy as a pig,” Paddy answered. Then Troubleness’s father announced that if he didn’t get out he would kick him out. Then out of nowhere Seamus appeared. He scooped up Paddy and flied speedily out of the cave. “You saved my life, Seamus. You’re a super, stupendous seagull,” Paddy answered excitedly. Luckily, Seamus, the seagull, saved Paddy. But where was the pot of gold?
Chapter 3 By Megan Reynolds and Saleem Afif
Bridget the beautiful bird arrived and showed Paddy and Seamus the seagull how to shrink themselves on her back. She flew to the Shannon River and saw the pot of gold floating along. Just then the saw a frog named Fiona taking a drink of the river. And she drank and drank and she drank. She even drank the pot of gold and then she hopped away!! Paddy needed to get that frog, Then Paddy spotted a Barbie do ll wagon. Paddy and Seamus went on it for a ride to find t he frog, but it jumped off a cliff and turned into a water resort . Paddy told Fiona, "See you later, frog!" Cinderella came down with her fairy godmother and her prince. They said, “We are the frog’s god parents.” The god parents put a wand in Paddy’s hand. He explained, “No! Once I find my dad, Dave the wizard, he will take your powers away.” Then with the wand he made ninjas and they fought the godparents. BAM!! POW!!!POOF!! They were in buffalo chicken land. They found a Smokey red flying sports car. The car was as fast as a race car on a race track. The car fell into an ice cream machine. They got out and off they were to Frog Island. “Where are we?” they asked. “I don’t know,” exclaimed Paddy.
Chapter 4: Fiona gets stung By: Brooklyn Cooper and Danny Friel
Paddy and Seamus, Paddy’s friendly seagull, knew they had to find Fiona the frog. She swallowed the pot of gold and hopped away to Frog Island. As they were thinking, a fishing captain named Connor came by in his rowboat, singing “Row, row, row your boat.” “Hi, Conner,” shouted Paddy, “Can you take us to frog island?” “Sure,” stated Conner. “Hop on the boat.” Then on the boat there was a huge box. The lid popped open. “Hello, everybody. My name is Monopoly Man. Happy St. Patrick’s Day.” “It’s not St. Patrick’s Day yet,” Paddy commented. Then Monopoly man le=. “Okay. That was weird,” stated Connor. “Now let’s go to Frog Island.” When they arrived Connor yelled, “I’m going to go with you! Fiona is a fussy frog.” “Okay,” answered Paddy. Then they saw the hugest bumble bee ever. He had a thick, black mustache and s nger. He stung the ground at first then he stung Fiona the frog on the tongue. She screamed so loud you could hear her scream from here to Florida. Then she spit out the pot of gold. Paddy grabbed the gold. Paddy and his gold were gone!
Chapter 5: Fiona and the Gold By: Deena Musa and Gia Pelegrino Fiona the frog had the gold and Paddy had disappeared. St. Patrick’s Day was coming up. Paddy would be ashamed to show his face to the other leprechauns if he did not have the gold to share. Seamus had a great idea about how to catch the unicorn. The gold is gone. Seamus had a great idea. Seamus’s idea was to go up on top of the mountain. Seamus went up the mountain and tried to find Fiona. Seamus didn’t find Fiona so he went farther and farther and still didn’t find Fiona. Then Seamus went behind the mountain and someone tapped him. It was Fiona. “Fiona where is the gold?” Seamus questioned. “I’m not telling you” Fiona yelled. Seamus came up with a plan. He had to find his friend Slam bam, the elf hunter. “Slam bam lives in the elf kingdom that is three miles away,” Seamus explained. When Seamus got to the elf kingdom he asked, “Where is Slam Bam?” Slam Bam shouted, “Here, But my only advice is to catch Fiona on horseback ride.” Seamus and Fiona tried it. It didn’t work, so now they needed another plan. Slam Bam left. Now Seamus is going to the woods to look for Seamus. Seamus had another idea. He went in the woods. Seamus flew up the tall tree. He spotted Fiona and he flew towards Fiona. Fiona saw Seamus. Fiona hopped away like a kangaroo. Seamus flew towards Fiona but Seamus fell. Crash! Boom! When Seamus got up there, there was so much fog so he stopped and his idea did not work. Well, it’s a shame Seamus’ idea didn’t work. Now Ustes had the gold and he was even further away on top of Wicklow Mountains.

He and Seamus, the seagull hadn’t gone far when Dagda, the giant, appeared. “Give me the gold,” he bellowed. A magical midget named Jamarkus howled, “Stop asking him. He’s not going to give you the gold!” So the giant pushed Jamarkus, the midget off the cliff. Bam! Bang! Ouch!
“That hurt!”
said Jamarkus. Then paddy tried escaping, but the giant grabbed him and stole his gold. Good thing he let paddy go. Instead the giant stole Seamus, the seagull. The bulky, bully giant took Seamus, the seagull away and laughed. “I’m going to eat you like it’s my favorite dinner.” Another magical unicorn named Fredrick tried to save Seamus, the seagull, but he couldnot re ach him. Then a tree came through and stepped on Fredrick. He was unlikely to survive. Paddy went to the giants house to try to save Seamu s. The giant found Paddy and tied Paddy up but good th ing Paddy had a pocket knife! He cut the rope open. Th e giant had an enormous devil mouse. Chapter8: Trouble ahead By: Ellen Conway and Chloe Slack
Seamus the seagull was gone and Dagda the giant had taken the gold. Paddy was worried about Seamus, but he was even more worried because it was almost St. Patrick’s Day and he had his pot of gold. As he worried, the horse chieftain named Epona happened by and Paddy O’Shamrock was wondering why Epona came by. “Why did you come by?“ Paddy asked. “I came by for the pot of gold,” Epona answered. “Okay but you’ll never get it,“ answered Seamus. Seamus was lost. Epona never liked Paddy but on the bright side, Dagda was on Paddy’s side and Epona was on the naughty side. Just then, Epona snatched the pot of gold out of Dagda’s hand. Dagda started hollering to give her back the gold. A few miles away by the pond was Seamus counting the gold. Then Epona ran back to her lair while she was counting her gold. She saw that the gold was plastic with gold paint chipping. Epona almost went past Seamus when Seamus stared running away because he saw Epona stare at him. Epona started chasing after him when Paddy stopped to take a break. He saw Seamus being chased after Epona. He started yelling because he saw Epona running after Seamus. Seamus lost Epona but then Dagda jumped up and pulled the gold before Epona got it. Then out of the ordinary, there was a magical, funny fairy flapping foolishly. Epona was on Paddy’s side after all and Epona wanted to keep the gold safe all that time! Paddy asked if Epona, Dagda, and Seamus wanted to go for ice cream, but chieftain Epona and the other horses were gathered on one side of the peat bog. Ustes and the other unicorns were on the other side. There was trouble ahead.
Chapter 9 By: Aa sh Kothadia and Anthony Wise
Paddy was so happy Epona and the other horses offered to help take the gold back from Ustes. But, now Ustes had all his unicorn tribe lined up. They didn’t want to give the gold back. The horses didn’t want to fight, but they wanted to help their friend Paddy. Paddy and the other horses were figuring out a plan to get the pot of gold back and suddenly a horse named Charlie had an idea and shouted, ”Hey y’all! Paddy, I got an idea. How about we dig under Ustes’s barn and take the pot of gold at night?” Then Paddy said,” We’ll have to be sneaky like ninjas.” But, when they were digging, Charlie stepped on something shiny and that was a unicorn wand. Charlie brought it to Paddy and then Epona said “Paddy, it’s a unicorn wand with power in it.” But, Paddy didn’t know how to use it. Epona said “You probably have to say a simile to use it.” All they needed was to figure out a simile to get the pot of gold back. Paddy tested the wand on Charlie and yelled, “Turn Charlie as fast as a cheetah!” And swoosh! Charlie went. But suddenly Ustes came to Paddy and mu3ered, “I’ll give you back your pot of gold if you give me that wand,” and paddy agreed. Before Epona and the other horses le= he said to Epona, “Thank you.” So Paddy got back his pot of gold back and the other horses went back to where they belonged and the magic wand disappeared but Ustes didn’t seem to mind. Thank heavens they figured out how to get the gold without a fight! It’s a shame that Ustes had thought the leprechauns didn’t want him around.
Chapter 10: The switch By: Bella Holtrop and Jarin Gor
Now that Paddy had the pot of gold he was pretty happy. Ustes and he could be friends now, too. Ustes offered to give Paddy a ride back to the rainbow. Except…. They didn’t know which direction anymore! “Where should we go?” Ustes asked Paddy. “Why are you asking me? I don’t know either.” Then suddenly Ustes gasped. They found a rock. Not an ordinary rock, a purple rock. Ustes and Paddy took the rock. They fought over it and they both fell over. They soon figured out that they had switched bodies. They both yelled at once “ARE WE DEAD! “ But they weren’t, they got up. According to the legend they had 240 minutes or 4 hours until they were stuck in each other’s’ bodies forever. But right now they had to focus on the weather. It was as hot as the surface of the sun! It was 12:00 in the afternoon, so when it was 4:00, they were stuck in each other’s bodies for eternity. After walking an hour with no luck they found a red path and a blue path then PLOP! The red rock fell on the blue path and the blue rock fell on the red path. “Holy sizzle seawater saltfish!” shouted Ustes. “It’s 2:00!” So they split up on each road, Paddy on the red road and Ustes went on the blue road. After an hour they got the red rock but it was 3:59. “Let’s go!” screamed Ustes. Then they switched back. Up ahead, Ustes and Paddy saw the many colors. “We’re almost home!” Paddy shouted.
Chapter 11
By: Veronica and Lilly
Paddy and his pot of gold rode with Ustes, now the most useful unicorn. They galloped across the fields –it was St. Patrick’s Day! Would they get back in time to share the gold with the others? They thought they could make it, BUT there was one problem….. First, Paddy got stuck in a cave by seeing something shiny. He also ran swiftly to the quicksand puddle and got stuck in it. Paddy looked like he was tired and full of sand. Then, Paddy stated pulling and pushing quickly and quietly so he can get out of the sand puddle. Paddy saw an evil troll robber then Paddy galloped, and the evil troll robber stole his horse but he didn’t give up. He ran for his horse but he went on the evil troll’s horse. Paddy secretly and quietly grabbed the pot of gold from the evil troll robber. Then Paddy hopped excitedly to his back door but Ustes was there. So he went to the front door but Ustes still followed him. Paddy jogged quickly to a tree like a cheetah. That is where his secret hiding spot is, another way to get into the house. He talked like he was British. Paddy’s name was Paddy Pie Pam. “Does anyone want any more cookies and milk?” “Yes, I would like some, Paddy,” said Fiona the frog. Well the gold arrived in time and Paddy was relived. Seamus the seagull, Bridget the beautiful bird, Fionna the frog, chieftain Epona and the horses, Ustas and his unicorns, Danu and the fairies all celebrated with the leprechaun.
EPILOGUE
There were leprechauns, and giants, good fairies and seagulls, po ons and magic, gold and Banshees. The story of Paddy and his pot of gold would make an exci ng movie, don’t you think? But, Paddy is not really interested in becoming a movie star. Making movies could never be as exci ng as living in your imagina on, trying to dream about how a leprechaun could protect a pot of gold! And anyway, Paddy said that NEXT year he is going to Hawaii for St. Patrick’s Day.
The End.
