Chapter 1: Bats

DID YOU KNOW‌ That bats can eat 10,000 insects in one day. And that they are nocturnal so they sleep in the morning and in the day and at night they are awake.

Physical Description There are two kinds of bats which are Megabats and Microbats. Megabats are a type of bats that are very big. Microbats are another type of bats that are small. Bats have short legs and long fingers. Bats have bright orange fur or striped fur.

Why This Animal Is Endangered Bats are endangered because farmers use pesticides to poison the fruits and to kill the bugs but bats might eat the fruit and get poisoned. If bats eat poisonous bugs they might get poisoned. Some people

pollute the bats’ habitats and the bats get sick or die. People spray harmful chemicals in attics and basements that bats live in and bats get poisoned.

Behaviors The "ger roars loudly to tell another "ger to stay out of its territory. A "ger scratches bark to leave its scent so no predators will come near the tree. The mother "ger ďŹ nds a den to have babies. A baby "ger starts hun"ng at 18 months. They are nocturnal animals.

Habitat The "ger can live in many places. Some places are Asia, China North Korea, and Cambodia. Some other places are Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia. They also can live in swampy areas, hot jungles, and snowy forests.

Chapter 7: Chimpanzees

Chapter 9: Sea Turtles

They have wet scaly bodies to help them swim. All sea turtles have 4 flippers to swim in the sea. Some sea turtles have leathery backs instead of hard backs.

Sea turtles main habitat is the ocean. They also live in beaches to lay their eggs. Also they swim along coral reefs and lagoons. Sea turtles mainly live in cold water climates.

Chapter 9: Komodo Dragons

The komodo dragon is living in it’s environment.

The Komodo Dragon is a very large lizard that has sharp claws and deadly mouths. The komodo dragon does have 60 razor sharp teeth and grow to 9 feet. They have though skin that could be colors gray or brown. HOW CAN WE HELP THIS ANIMAL? Buy saving their environment.

Habitat The komodo dragon lives in Indonesia, Flores, Rintja, Gili, Montang and komodo Islands. The island that they live on is surrounded with water from the Indian ocean. The island is covered by a tropical savanna. They live in the ocean, too.

Manatees are endangered for their meat and because they are easy to hunt. Most of the time, they are hurt on accident. They sometimes run into nets and get injured from them. Also,

they are injured from unhealthy habitats or canal locks. While they are swimming, they get hit by boats, boat propellers, or motors.
