The
Whose

Wow, another year!

I always pick one word that I incorporate into my daily practice of living each year. One word is a simple concept that delivers powerful life change! For me, it’s a better way to become my best and live a life of impact. Instead of creating endless goals and resolutions, I have found that one word would be my driving force for the year. No goals. No wish lists. Just one word.

This year it’s HEALTH.

Try it - find a word and let me know how it impacts your life. Here are some words of wisdom…

Patience visited me

And it reminded me

That good things take time to come to fruition

And grow slowly with stability

Peace visited me

And it reminded me

That I may remain calm through the storms of life

Regardless of the chaos surrounding me

Hope visited me

And it reminded me

That better times lay ahead

And it would always be there to guide and uplift me

Humility visited me

And it reminded me

That I may achieve it

Not by trying to shrink myself and make myself less

But by focusing on serving the world and uplifting those around me

Kindness visited me

And it reminded me

To be more gentle, forgiving and compassionate toward myself

And those surrounding me

Confidence visited me

And it reminded me

To not conceal or suppress my gifts and talents

In order to make others feel more comfortable

But to embrace what makes me me

Focus visited me

And it reminded me

That other people’s insecurities and judgements about me

Are not my problem

And I should redirect my attention

From others back to me

Freedom visited me

And it reminded me

That no one has control over my mindset, thoughts and wellbeing

But me

And love visited me

And it reminded me

That I need not search for it in others

As it lies within me.

Live. Laugh. Love. Xo

A Message from the Directors

As we travel the globe lecturing, we are constantly reminded that the world is not quite like it is here on the Hippocrates Wellness Campus. On an ongoing basis, it is shocking when we report case after case of people who have conquered disease and embraced health. It is as if we are making up stories for the average global citizen. This reveals the depth of pessimism and the success the manipulators have on society's imagination. When someone does not believe in themselves, it is hard for them to believe in anything. People struggle with mere survival, which abolishes their ability to pop their heads above water to see clearly. This constant merry-go-round of limitation deflates the spirit, preventing people from dreaming big and reaching their goals.

This issue of Healing Our World frames dozens of stories harvested out of thousands who had broken the mold and created a life worth living. Disease is provocative and can provoke affirmative action. Challenge can be a good thing when you take it on as a challenge. Most people face growth by retreating into the very patterns that create disorder.

We all know Einstein's profound quote, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." Yes, we believe Einstein was correct; most of us are categorically insane at some level. We evaluate sanity as a peaceful, fulfilling existence that not only brings happiness but also spreads it outwards.

Recently, I, Brian, spoke to a group, and one of our alumni stood up and gave their testimony. I watched the audience struggle with the painful parts of how she was feeling drained and then treated allopathically to no avail. It took four doctors to discover that she had cancer throughout her body, and she was eventually told there was nothing more they could do.

A friend suggested she attend the Hippocrates Comprehensive Cancer Program, and when she arrived, she said, "it was like I landed on a different planet." She recognized that our health professionals and doctors were advising her to live completely the opposite of how she did before. She humbled herself and realized there must be some truth in this. Her second revelation was that the only one who could heal her was herself. That guidance, support, professional advice, and care were only the springboard for her to dive into her life in a way she had never previously attempted. As she began to pursue the tremendous responsibility of self-healing, results began to surface. Her conquest was to banish fear, and with the help of our psychotherapist, she did so. Her taste buds had to be retrained, and she visualized the new healthy food instead of the disease-causing types that made her ill, allowing the ingestion of this wellness cuisine. Step by step, she disassembled the self-destructive lifestyle patterns that nearly killed her, eventually landing on her feet and being diagnosed free of cancer in total remission.

There is a recipe that can be universally employed to heal and elevate your life's purpose. It all begins with evaluating on paper what it is in your life that stopped you from LIVING. Once you have weeded the future's field, your growth potential explodes. Acquiring a newfound perspective and abundant ability to employ this accelerated energy to change existence goes from mundane to extraordinary.

You are capable of everything you are willing to manifest via your internal fortitude. Humanity as a whole and you as an individual harbor an endless reserve of affirmative power to flourish, share, and propagate. Each and every person who raises themselves to wellness is the needed light we have in the abundant darkness that prevails in our broken society and misuse of culture. Become yourself by doing what it takes to be that strong and respected individual.

Be well,

Q: Why is it that only a few people stick to their resolutions?

- Randell from Oregon

A: Most people love to dream, but few want to do the work to achieve it. The first step is determining the significant improvements that your resolution will create in your life. Next, commit yourself to YOU and don’t waiver.

Q: Why are green plants so important?

- Daphne From Greece

A: As we all have learned, raw green plants contain chlorophyll, the highest amount of plant medicine, and a wide range of nutrients, including amino acids that both heal and build.

Q: I have heard you state that exercise is as important as a raw plant diet; why?

- Rotan From Norway

A: The body, throughout history, has been active in building muscles, circulating blood, and enhancing joints and bones. It is only in recent generations that we have unanimously become sedentary. As a result, the body has now become a trap and a burden rather than a vehicle for health and progress. Nutrition fuels the body to move and strengthen.

Q: Years ago, I read that menstruation the way we now experience it is abnormal; why?

- Kendra from Liverpool, England

A: Female bodies have the ability every month to release debris and toxins along with the biology that could fertilize them, creating a child. Unlike men, the woman’s body uses the same pathways to release chemicals, heavy metals, plastics, etc., causing a much greater flow for 12 months than our ancestors who experienced it lightly, only twice a year from Spring to Autumn - more of a perfuse excretion.

Q: Why is it that many so-called experts teach that we still require animal-based foods?

- Joe from New York, New York

A: Since 1970, I have been pondering this and finally came to what I believe is the answer: These women and men struggle to let go of the death and dying cuisine that not only destroys their health but that of the planet earth. We are at different places when it comes to embracing a healthy lifestyle. They often have just begun, which is where they are in their evolution. As a young man, I decided to look for an organization with the greatest experience and proven success. That is what led me to the now 7-decade-old Hippocrates Wellness program in the mid seventies.

Q: We have kids in school - how do we keep them healthy? Are there supplements for children?

- Anonymous

A: When consuming proper living plantbased supplements, your child can take exactly what you do in smaller amounts. Vitamin C, vitamin D, zinc, and multiple minerals are the fundamentals to keep their immune system strong. Still, we must remember it's their diet, emotional state, and consistent exercise that are most important.

Q: What are your recommendations for important foods that everyone should consume?

- Anonymous

A: Green leafy sprouts, sunflower tea, green buckwheat, and clover radish onion. Germinated raw nuts, such as almonds, filberts, walnuts, pecans, and pistachios. Seeds such as sunflower, pumpkin, sesame, flax, and poppy.

Low-sugar root vegetables such as jicama, rutabaga, radish, turnip, and parsnip. Sprouted grains such as quinoa, millet, teff, amaranth, and buckwheat.

Fresh and saltwater algae such as blue-green phytoplankton, kelp, dulse, arame, and wakame. All of these foods are primal and filled with all the nutrition that we know as essential. There are so many elements locked into their chemistry that are medicinal and youth-preserving that we will only learn more about as time unfolds.

Fresh Expert Insights

At Hippocrates Wellness we are on a journey to expand the minds and fill the hearts of our alumni, setting them on a course for positive change in mind, body and spirit.

This year we have Dr. Corbin Pominville PT, DPT, CSCS joining our Hippocrates Family. Dr. Corbin is a leading chronic pain physiotherapist, published course instructor, and weekly lecturer at Hippocrates Wellness. He is known as the “last chance PT” who specializes in helping people who have been let down in the past find a permanent solution to their pain through connective tissue bodywork and retraining the brain and body in proper posture.

We also have Genevieve Allard from Montreal joining us as our brand new fitness management consultant at Hippocrates Wellness. Genevieve moved to Florida in 2021 after spending six weeks at Hippocrates as a guest. She says:

"I wish I had known about Hippocrates 30 years ago. They would have saved me decades of debilitating pain, multiple surgeries, medication, and many dollars on alternative health care. Hippocrates Wellness transformed my life forever! I'm beyond grateful to give back and work with this amazing team!"

Gym Upgrades

Our gym has a range of new equipment that promotes functional fitness which leads to health, wellness and longevity. We don't stop exercising because we grow old, we grow old because we stop exercising. This is the main tenet our trainers are promoting here at Hippocrates. New equipment includes:

- A squat rack with barbells - to teach people how to properly use their core while lifting, which lessens the risk of injury.

- A curved manual treadmill - mimics road running more so than a motorized treadmill and teaches everyone a proper gait pattern.

- An air bike - great conditioning tool, utilizes your arms and legs during use, full-body workout.

- A stair master - full-body workout, that gives guests another form of cardio rather than having too many ellipticals.

Setting Boundaries

End of people pleasing and entering your "villain" era. The simple search "villain era" on TikTok brings up thousands of videos that showcase people putting an end to people pleasing and embracing their so-called villain era.

But while boundary setting and putting an end to people pleasing are both valuable for your mental health, there is something wrong with this being phrased as villainous behavior; I say BOUNDARIES.

#02

Healing your Inner Child

There is a trend where people openly acknowledge challenging childhood moments and work on coming to terms with those experiences.

2023
Talking about trauma more openly and really talking about inner child work, I think, has prompted a lot of conversations that I don't think have happened as openly and as in-depth at other points in time. 43 | hippocrateswellness.org

Rest as Resistance

Rest is the perfect trend, and I want to encourage people to lean further into the trend of resting - so literally sleeping, napping, doing things that fill you up - as a form of resistance against oppression, against patriarchy, against all sorts of things.

Walking Meetings

The trend encourages people to disconnect from technology, which is a bonus as many people (unfairly) deal with an expectation to be constantly connected to their email and phone. This also helps people get outside in nature, which adds to its importance this year.

Bio-technology for Beauty

Biotech is laying the groundwork for a more sustainable beauty future. In the year ahead, we'll expand our view on what is "natural"—and stop fearing all lab-derived ingredients.

Metabolic Health

Next year, there will be a huge movement to take personalized steps toward optimized metabolic health. After all, your metabolism isn't your fate; metabolic efficiency and optimization are possible.

Easier Access to Hot and Cold Therapy

Brace yourself: Sauna blankets and cold plunges are going to be our recovery tools of choice in the new year. The industry for hot and cold therapy is just heating up, and everyone's going to want to dive in.

Inactivity - A Vital Health Metric

In 2023, we'll care less about hitting 10,000 steps than we do about minimizing time sitting still. Expect people to prioritize regular movement— even while seated—during their everyday lives in the new year.

...of the “Forever Chemical” That Threatens Our Water Supply...

For a complimentary consultation:

Call: 800-444-3563, Ext.1

Email: drspeiser@cwrenviro.com

Visit: www.cwrenviro.com

What do fast-food wrappers, pizza boxes, nail polish, and waterrepellent clothing have in common? These and many other commonly used products contain highly toxic manufactured chemicals that have seeped into our environment - including our municipal water supply - and threaten public health.

Dubbed the “forever chemical,” perand polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) have been widely used since the 1950s. Because they aren’t degradable, they accumulate in our environment - and bodies - over time. Most Americans are completely unsuspecting of their prevalence and the damage these stubborn chemicals can do.

Where Do They Come From?

PFAS are found in the foams used by firefighters and in not-so-obvious items such as household cleaning products, stain-resistant furniture, carpeting, fast food wrappers, and non-stick chemical coatings in our cookware (think Teflon).

What Are the Harmful Effects of PFAS?

Remember that these “forever chemicals” don’t readily degrade. Occasional exposure to these chemicals may not seem like much, but it’s the cumulative effect of the ingestion of PFAS that has landed these chemicals on my “high-alert” list. In other words, these chemicals build up over time as we are exposed again and again to them.

Nearly all of us here in the U.S. have PFAS in our blood. In fact, these chemicals are found in the umbilical cord blood of babies as well as the breast milk provided for them! The most vulnerable of our population is starting out at a distinct disadvantage.

Over time, these chemicals can do a lot of damage to our bodies:

• PFAS are endocrine-disrupting chemicals and can wreak havoc with our hormones.

• PFAS contributes to kidney and testicular cancer.

• PFAS also contributes to liver and thyroid problems.

• PFAS have been linked to an increased risk of birth defects and other reproductive problems, including the timing of puberty in our children.

Bottom line? It’s HIGHLY advisable to avoid the over-accumulation of PFAS for yourself and your family. But how do you do that?

Making Your Water Safe to Drink

Gone are the days when you could assume that the drinking water from your tap – or even the bottled water you pay for – is safe to consume.

It takes special types of water filtration materials and technology, such as the CWR MetalgonTM Filter included in our Crown Water Filter Series, that removes different kinds of toxic substances, including PFAS chemicals. CWR’s sink and whole house filtration systems are custom designed to remove a wide range of chemicals, fluoride, heavy metals, and other toxic substances detected in your water supply.

Our main goal at CWR Environmental is to provide filtration equipment solutions to protect your health, improve the quality of your life, and ensure your water is as clean as nature intended. Please contact us so that we may assist you in selecting the best water filtration system to purify your home drinking and bathing water.

Can laughter really keep us fit and healthy?

Now let’s talk about, not just joy or happiness, but specifically about laughing.

Norman Cousins, in his classic book, The Anatomy of an Illness According to the Patient, recounts how he came to discover laughter as a positive influence in healing. Just by watching and laughing at a Laurel and Hardy movie on TV, while in the hospital, his autoimmune markers significantly dropped. Here’s some of my favorite Norman Cousin quotes:

“Laughter is a form of internal jogging. It moves your internal organs around. It enhances respiration. It is an igniter of great expectations.”

“An adequate share of humor and laughter represents an essential part of the diet of the healthy person.”

“Of all the gifts bestowed by nature on human beings, hearty laughter must be close to the top.”

“Laughter serves as a blocking agent. Like a bullet-proof vest, it may help protect you against the ravages of negative emotions that can assault you in disease.”

“Laughter may or may not activate the endorphins or enhance respiration, as some medical researchers contend. What seems clear, however, is that laughter is an antidote to apprehension and panic.”

I love his human and practical approach, from the physical (internal jogging) to the sublime.

• Laughter carries physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and personal power.

• Yes, laughter can be like internal jogging, or internal rebounding.

• We generally laugh more and harder when we’re with others. We bond together with those with whom we share giggles.

• Laughing triggers a cascade of endorphins, and resets our mood in a positive direction

In order to get the “surprise twist” in most jokes, we get elevated into a realm of the absurd where opposites meet. This creates new neural pathways, opens us to have an “aha” moment of new perception, and gives us a transcendent perspective.

Making people laugh carries an innate status upgrade, and inter-personal rewards.

It can be a positive expression of personal power. It can influence you to make light of seriousness, and snap you out of a rigid mindset. That’s powerful!

Laughter lightens us up. More than a reprieve from the seriousness or responsible side of life, it helps us discover our roots in play. Play is universal for humans, and for many other species on the planet.

50 | hippocrateswellness.org
"Making people laugh carries an innate status upgrade, and inter-personal rewards..."

Have you seen the YouTube video of the crow that carries a jar lid onto a metal roof so it can slide down it, over and over again? Or the video of the dogs that get to swim in the pool, who go down the slide, and jump in over and over again? Or the otters who juggle stones (no kidding!). Or the cow that plays with a giant inflated ball? Or the dolphins who blow and play with bubbles under water? Or the dogs that jump with their humans on a huge trampoline? Or the pitbull who rolls down the grassy hillside, over and over again? Or the squirrels that chase each other?

I knew a pitbull named Smiling Jack, because when he wagged his tail, he…..smiled! And how about when Koko the signing gorilla met Robin Williams, and invited him to tickle her, as she tickled him!?

It’s in us, and we can feel it and express it. The sheer joy of embodiment, and dare I say it: existence!

Proverbs 17:22 – “A merry heart doeth good [like] a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones”.

Psalms 126:2 – “Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said

they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.”

I’ve noticed that when people get sick, or stop feeling good, they stop laughing. Laughter isn’t only a sign of feeling good, it becomes a path towards feeling good when we are not well.

A difficult medical diagnosis, or grappling with an illness, often rob us of a carefree existence. Sickness is serious. Even in the ICU, we nurses found dark humor to help us face or deal with the seriousness of suffering we encountered daily. Sometimes we shared that with our patients, and we laughed together. (see my silly hospital stories for examples). Care-free, as a form of detached play, is still available to us, even in the midst of tragedy. That brilliant movie, Life is Beautiful, about a father and a son as inmates in a Nazi concentration camp, is a great example of that. Who would have thought it possible to make a comedy about the Holocaust, but Italian writer and actor, Roberto Benigni, pulled it off!

In therapy groups, we laugh a lot. The more we can laugh at our human foibles as we confess them, the better the chances are of doing deep integrative work.

I laugh at you the way your loving brother laughs at you, and that means I’m not “polite” about it, or politically correct, or even overly careful with you: I treat you as a silly person, whether you know you are silly or not. I don’t laugh at your suffering, but I celebrate your innately absurd and fun-loving nature, even as I help you deal with your pain.

I often say in groups, “You can’t pay for entertainment like this,” and I’m referring to the poignant, absurd moments of raw humanness that emerge when we encounter each other with some openness.

I’m talking about how inner congruence helps people make a leap into wellness, and an elderly gentle woman politely asks, “what about the congruence of murdering someone we don’t like?” I couldn’t stop laughing for a solid twenty minutes! We referred to her as the evil witch, and by the end of the group time, even she made silly references to getting a tattoo and telling people to fuck off. The sheer folly of this sweet little woman showing up as such a rowdy person! We all laughed and laughed! She gave us permission to color outside the lines. “You can’t say ‘fuck’ in the healing circle,” I said, and we all hooted. “I appreciate your negativity,” I said. “In fact, I’m holding a negativity training weekend this

weekend. And I don’t care if you sign up.” We hooted some more! What a relief to just be silly, to say things we just wouldn’t ordinarily say. Permission to live! Welcome aboard!

Or when comedian, Collin Quinn, at his graduation, said about Hippocrates’ owner Brian Clement: “Where does he get his suitsSoprano yard sales?” I almost peed in my pants!

Laughter is most potent when it shines the light of truth, when it shows up as a feature of our authenticity. Unlike the story of a mere joke, deep laughter reflects our transcendent nature, our ability to see joy beneath the mask of sorrow.

When I’m truly laughing, I’m enjoying my self, my ability to enjoy, and you as part of all that. Authentic laughter includes and connects, and is never at anyone’s expense. Even when I’m laughing at you, I’m laughing with you, and when the spirit is right, you’ll get that, and we’ll draw closer.

People say I have the power to make people cry in therapy sessions, but I think my real super power is that I can make you laugh, even when you’re crying.

This is an excerpt from Andy’s latest book, Get Real, Get Well: The Power of Authenticity to Heal, available on Amazon and the Hippocrates store.

This question could help reduce stress...

It may sound too simplistic if we hear someone suggest that an effective way to deal with stress is to ask, "Whose business is it?" As simple as it sounds, this question has helped people reduce stress. There are three types of businesses, as Dr. Bernie Siegel mentioned in his book, No Endings Only Beginnings. The first is "God's business": how bad is the weather today? I cannot control it; it is not my business.

The second is "others' business": how my boss thinks about the employees is not my business; I cannot control it.

The third is "my own business": how I deal with my children, my spouse or my parents is my choice. I can control my approach and modify them to make the

relationship less stressful. Understanding "my business" is already downsizing my stress. There is a saying, "Do not absolutely, positively be responsible for everything which happens around you. It is my job. (Signed by) God." This approach can weed out some unwanted stress in our lives. When people complain about the weather, politics, or the condition of the world we are in, they waste their time and energy. Avoiding such complaints can reduce the stressful energy around us.

Those who tend to "other's business" are often stressed at the cost of their own health. Once, the American Cancer Society tried to find out if there is really a cancer-prone personality.

57 | hippocrateswellness.org

Anthony Chatham Fitness article
You may not absolutely, positively be responsible for everything which happens around you. That is my job.

Even though there is no conclusive answer to the question, many studies have indicated that there are some traits that can be associated with cancer: those prone to anger, resentment, or hostility to others; those who repress positive and negative emotions; those who take on themselves extra duties and responsibilities, even at their own risk; who are negative and pessimistic; people who are easily depressed or hopeless; people who often worry excessively about others; people who feel the need for approval and to please others, and the like. (Andrew Goliszek, Mind-Body Health, and Healing). We may be able to weed out a lot of stress in our lives if we can mind "my own business."

We need to deal with "our business."

Anyone who receives a major diagnosis feels stressed. Anyone who loses a relationship to death or divorce feels stressed. Anyone who loses a job unfairly feels stressed. Anyone who is overcome with the aftereffects of a trauma feels stressed. Anyone who is overwhelmed with toxic emotions like anger, fear, guilt, or shame feels stressed. Anyone who finds their life to be meaningless feels stressed. Can we ignore stress because it seems to be an integral part of life?

It is "our business" to control and manage our stress. If we cannot change our response to the stressors, even if we feel they are to be expected, we will find ourselves in a continual fight-orflight reaction. This situation can cause serious health consequences, including high blood pressure, digestive disorders, or bacterial or viral infections.

Mind and body are closely connected. Some people deal with it by blaming themselves for their

stress; some people ignore them because they feel helpless. However, numerous studies have suggested many effective stress management methods: eliciting a relaxation response through meditation, music, or yoga, introducing positive thinking, utilizing the benefits of the "placebo effect," employing social support, supporting health with spirituality, meditation, prayer, and so on.

Reframe Stress.

Dealing with stress effectively is "our business." Therefore, another strategy that can be employed is reframing stress. Stress is not what is coming to us from the outside but is our reaction to what is happening outside around us. The stress really is not the overbearing boss; it is not the ill-behaved children, it is not the intrusive aging parents, it is not the betraying spouse, it is not the loss of money; it is one's interpretation of what is happening around us that creates stress. If we consider stress to be the outside stressors, then we become victims. And victims are helpless. On the other hand, if it is our reaction to the situation, we have more control over it. If we change our interpretation from "my boss wants to hurt me," or "my children will never give me peace," or "my parents will never leave me alone," or "my spouse does not really love me," into something like, "I can either change the attitude of my boss or find a new job," "I know that my children will someday realize my unconditional love for them," "I love my parents but am not going budge to their controlling behavior," or "I will still try to improve my relationship with my spouse," our stress experience also will change accordingly.

Here we are at the time of renewal and change, which always seems easier than it turns out to be. Most people suffer from the memory of perpetual failure in reaching their goals. In the past, we would chalk this up to individual weakness or the social pressures that appear to call for conformity. Now, in the third decade of the 21st century, neuron science has reported its findings on why resolutions and progress are burdensome.

Seventy percent of waking hours, we live habitually. When recalling how robotic it is to brush your teeth and drive to work, you can see the ease of repeating habits. Here at Hippocrates Wellness, thirty-five years ago, we expanded the two-week program to three weeks since we saw it was difficult, at best, for people to embrace a new lifestyle in fourteen days but much easier in twenty-one.

Psychology has propagated the threeweek hypothesis for generations, and it has almost become a known truth. Today’s researchers tell us that the majority of unfortunate patterns can be resolved in this window of time. Yet, others may take up to two-hundred and sixty-four days. All of this is measured from neuron functions and pathways in the brain, and

when monitoring the electrical activity that accompanies thought, we can see how we can etch a constant loop like a needle stuck in the groove of an LP. Even when we sincerely intend to release these counterproductive actions without the correct tools, it will not occur.

One area that scientists have unveiled is a procedure to manifest Episodic Recall Events. These are either the roadblock to normality or the highway to hell. What has not changed in the biology of habits is that we develop eighty-five percent of our personality between conception and six years old. This is seemingly a shocking untenable fact for people that endure turmoil at that tender age. Truthfully, it is a watermark for the need they have to work their way out of the fear, discord, and self-doubt which may have been imprinted on them. Before any significant act, take just a moment by using a mental exercise, asking the question, “What am I likely to do in this upcoming situation?” Finally, an opportunity opens for you to see where you may make improvements in your actions and response. This should not be laborious but become second nature so that it does not slow you down but, in fact, offers you the opportunity to be concise and enriched in every pursuit.

62 | hippocratesinst.org
"You possess all knowledge and wisdom with the “strength to produce” any and all that you dream of..."

Task Bracketing is another term used to enable you to choose whether you want to do something or not. Is this task something that brings you fulfillment and will it result in progress? Inversely will you endure pain in your pursuit resulting in a sense of failure? This clearly removes the wheat from the chaff. This simple process creates neural imprints categorically positioning brackets of importance. As you filter both negative reactions/actions and unfulfilling events, you liberate extensive time to become the happy soul you really are.

When you think of an event and what happens before and after, the brain erects normality of function. This will further dissolute the wasteful events that bog you down and block happiness. By doing this, there is absolute change in neuronal function. This exercise, with the others mentioned, literally re-sculpt the brain’s highways leaving the winding old country roads behind, favoring high speed superhighways to success.

Surfing The Urge is the term used for the link between stress and giving in. Our three-layer brain began in other creatures half a billion years ago with the reptile foundation. This is where automated breathing, “fight or flight,” and the urge to procreate come from. We have observed that most people reside in this virtually dark cave of reactivity. When stress comes, you tend to want to give in. Ultimately, this

pumps cortisol into your bloodstream, which systematically derogates your biological and psychological person. Researchers tell us that they have established a nearly foolproof process of shifting from a fear-based homo sapien to a positive, productive human.

Step one, you must develop acute awareness by sensing your deepest clear emotions when you have just acted in a way that is not positive, enriching, or appropriate. Step two, you must immediately follow the discorded event with an affirmative productive one. There should not be a lag time so that the synapse places this event in one file and does not separate it. This instantaneously begins to refashion your patterns removing the consistent needle stuck in the groove of an LP and connects the bad move to a good move pushing the needle and continuing life’s music. Who would have thought such a simple procedure could profoundly affect your outlook, personality, and future?

As I have observed during my professional life, at the root of all change are simple yet spectacular acts. Life begets life in the Anish for food. Equally obvious in the emotional realm is “Positive action creates success.” The ultimate that connects you to universal truth is that you possess all knowledge and wisdom with the “strength to produce” anything you dream of.

Introducing...

MD. Ph.D.

Recognized World Authority in PsychoNeuroImmunology and Cancer, at Hippocrates Wellness

I was introduced to Dr. Brian Clement, and Dr. Anna Maria Clement by our mutual friend, colleague, and a long-term Board Member of Hippocrates Wellness, Julia Loggins, in 2005.

Julia called me and asked if my husband, Michael Galitzer, M.D., and I would help her and Hippocrates Wellness to develop a West Coast site and program.

We looked at many possible acreages, and retreat center site's over a couple of years as we proceeded with this quest.

During that time, we all became thrilled with

knowing each other and the possibilities of combining our background knowledge and expertise in developing programs together. Brian and I came up with the name "Comprehensive Cancer Wellness Program" in 2013 before launching the first official program in the fall of 2014.

I introduced Brian and Anna Maria, to O. Carl Simonton, M.D., on one of their trips to the Los Angeles area, in 2007. Brian and Anna Maria were very familiar with Dr. Simonton's pioneering work in PsychoNeuroImmunology

75 | hippocrateswellness.org

and Cancer. It was a thrilling time for us all to be united, explore possible ideas, and work together.

Dr. Simonton founded the Simonton Cancer Center and was the Medical Director for over 30 years. His New York Times Best-Selling Book, "Getting Well Again, "was a significant contribution to the field of medicine by bringing the awareness that "Stress, and psychological factors, are key factors, not only in the development of cancer but in altering the course of disease.

During that time in Los Angeles, I also introduced Brian and Anna Maria to a legendary pioneer in the area of BioEnergy Field Medicine, Dr. Valerie Hunt, U.C.L.A. Professor Emeritus. Dr. Hunt's best-selling book, "The Infinite Mind, "brought an understanding to the role of consciousness in influencing the health of an individual's unique organized BioEnergy Field Pattern, and that this was in micro voltage but could be measured.

Dr. Simonton's best friend, Ed Gilbert, M.D., helped us to develop the C.C.W.P. in 2013 - two weeks before we launched the first Program. Sadly, in October 2014, Dr. Gilbert was killed in a tragic bicycle touring accident.

Dr. Gilbert had been in touch with Jim Poole, C.E.O., Solace Lifesciences, and manufacturer of NuCalm Technology, to be involved with the Cancer Program we were developing, in alliance, with Hippocrates Wellness. This is the only technology of its kind to interrupt stress physiology at the midbrain level.

Jim called and told me that Ed had been killed in a bicycle accident but that he and his team would be there to help me with that first Program.

Jim has shown up ever since for us and now contributes a 30-Day Access Account to all of the guests in the C.C.W.P. so that they can use the NuCalm Technology daily during their stay at Hippocrates Wellness.

Michael Galitzer, M.D., Medical Director of The American Health Institute, Inc., has been an essential part of the C.C.W.P. development and has contributed many interpretations of the diagnostics we used. Such as BioImpedance and Heart Rate Variability and the specific OndaMed Programs, as well as numerous informative presentations to the guests to help them understand Integrative Regenerative Medicine.

Research in the field of PsychoNeuroImmunology and Cancer has consistently shown, over the last 30 years:

• Doubling of median survival times

• More long-term survivors

• Less pain medication needed

• Fewer hospitalization days

• People fare better

• A higher quality of life

• A higher quality of death

• Fewer side effects from medication

• Speedier recovery times

• Less fatigue, higher energy

76 | hippocrateswellness.org
"Addressing cancer as a metabolic disease is the current thinking from the leading-edge scientific research community..."

If you combine the Medicinal Cuisine and Regenerative Lifestyle Medicine of the Hippocrates Wellness Program with what we do in BioEnergy Field Medicine, these research results above only get stronger, more amplified, and more impressive!

We have many people who come from all over the world because they want to use a Natural Medicine Approach for healing and incorporate it with their Medical Oncology treatments.

Most people begin to feel better within the first week. As their inflammation begins to decrease systematically, their:

• G.I. Health improves

• Their toxicity levels come down

• Their blood glucose levels begin to normalize.

Oxygen and nutrients are then carried more easily to the tissues, and people start to feel stronger, have more energy, a better color, and have a more confident and hopeful spirit, again, about life, as their certainty improves, for their ability to get better and get well.

The Autonomic Nervous System gets regulated as Stress Physiology is interrupted and shifted, and the Parasympathetic System gets stronger. Deep restorative sleep is often restored, which is responsible for regeneration to occur within the cellular mitochondria.

In 2018 I met Thomas Rau, past Medical Director of the renowned Paracelsus Clinic and currently the Medical Director of the Sonnenberg Clinic in Switzerland.

Following this, I went to Switzerland to train with him and became certified in his approach of "Swiss Biological Medicine." Dr. Rau is now a part of our C.C.W.P. International Associate Staff and is involved with our Program, regularly visiting W. Palm Beach.

I also extensively trained with Dr. Taibi Kahler and became certified in his "Process Communication Model" as a Trainer. Because of this, we can include his "Kahler

Key to Stress Profile" in the C.C.W.P. for a "Personalized Stress Management Approach" with every participant in the C.C.W.P. NASA has used Dr. Kahler's Personality Pattern Inventory, in the selection of Astronauts, for over 20 years.

It is exciting to watch people come back alive, for their physiology to get stronger, and for their emotional well-being to return to an alive state.

It is such a privilege to watch the transformation happen in front of our eyes. We "Reignite the Spark" and accelerate the potential for boosting the Immune System - mobilizing the potential for "getting well."

Addressing cancer as a metabolic disease is the current thinking from the leading-edge scientific research community.

The following combined offer a powerful approach to restoring health and vitality in 30days:

• The Hippocrates Wellness Living Plantbased Nutritional Protocol

• Holistic Therapies - strengthen the Immune System and overall oxygenation and energy of the body.

• The Simonton Cancer Center's Program"Getting Well Again"

• Dr. Janet Hranicky's Program in PsychoNeuroImmunology - "The Power of Your Mind in Getting Well."

• Omega-3 fatty acids are essential for brain function, heart health, and the regulation of inflammation.

• Symptoms of Omega-3 deficiency aren't always physical but can be mental or emotional and include intensifying symptoms of depression, anxiety, or lack of focus.

• Omega-3s come in three different types: EPA, DHA, and ALA. Both EPA and DHA are found in fish oil and algae, but ALA is mostly found in whole plant foods such as nuts, beans, and other legumes.
