This is a rest house planned near the center of the Kyoto Botanical Garden in Kyoto. There is the site beside a pond which has many lotuses, so they bloom flowers in July and August. And also there are many cherry trees and maple trees around the ponds, so we can also feel the seasons in spring and autumn. Utilizing this characteristic, I planned the deck toward the pond in this architecture. By putting a mass volume on the road beside the pond, we have our eyes blocked once. There are functional programs in this volume. Then, the louvered box attached to the volume make us release our eyes slowly and we witness the natural beauty in the end.
京都、京都府立植物園内の中央部付近に計画したレストハウス。 敷地は蓮池の畔であり、7 月∼ 8 月にかけて蓮の花が咲く。また、池の周囲 には桜や紅葉が植生しており、春や秋にも季節を感じることができる。 この特性を生かし、この建築では池に向けてデッキを延ばした。畔を通る道 にマッスなボリュームを配置し、一旦視線を閉ざす。内部には機能的なプロ グラムがある。そして、そのボリュームに付随するルーバーのボックスは徐々 に人々の視線を解放し最後に美しい自然を目の当たりにするのである。
