ow many times have you wished you could just fix something? Or wish you could just make it better? And yet when we try to fix it or make it better, I find in my case, I just make it worse than it was before. I remember when we lived on a farm. We had 25 acres and quite a few animals such as horses, chickens, cows, dogs and cats; it was a fun time growing up on a farm. In the fall, we would get the fields all ready for winter, fertilizing and preparing it for the winter to come so that in the summer and fall it would be ready to harvest. There was a lot of work to get the land ready...from plowing, cultivating and finally

planting the seeds for the crops. We live in our own homes and take care of the land that we own, whether it is a farm or a lot in a town or city, by fertilizing the grounds. If we don't, then the land will suffer and crops and grass will not grow properly. There was another time when the world had to do a lot of healing; that was after World War II. When the second world war ended, as many as 60 million people had died, cities had been leveled to the ground, families had been ripped apart. When World War I ended, people and soldiers thought of going back to their lives, business as usual, and for the most part they could do that. Some towns in Europe were devastated and destroyed, but not to the extent it was in 1945. The destruction was more intense than before, as pretty much all of Europe and Asia was affected and destroyed. Of the 60 million that had died

September 2021

Our Repentence! as a result of the war, 25 million of them were from the Soviet Union and another 6 million were a result of genocide of the Jewish people by the Nazis. When the war was raging, millions of people had to leave their homes or they would be put into camps and forced to work in Germany or Japan. The allies did all that they could to help and feed the refugees and to help reunite families that had been separated from one another during war time, and that task to find them all was overwhelming. Many of the ports had been damaged or destroyed in Europe and Asia, bridges and locomotives had been bombed and destroyed. Big cities had been bombed and reduced to rubble and burning ash piles or heavily damaged, such as Berlin, Tokyo, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Kiev and London. Factories, businesses and many workshops were destroyed or

had heavy damage. Alot of forests and vineyards in Europe were destroyed from artillery shells and tanks. There were many people in Europe who were hungry. Some were eating Tulip Bulbs in the Netherlands. Canada and the United States, other than Pearl Harbour, were pretty much spared destruction from war. Great Britain didn't have much to spare, as Great Britain was bankrupt at that time from fighting the war. It was a difficult time. Many people were traumatized from war; many soldiers were trying to get back to a somewhat normal life, but they suffered so much. Where do you start the healing process? There was so much pain, hatred and destruction in the five years that World War II raged. In 1948, the Marshall Plan was an American Initiative plan package passed to help Europe rebuild. It was 15 billion

His Grace Magazine!

From the Pulpit... September 2021

dollars, which is the equivalent of 114 billion dollars today. This would help Europe rebuild and hopefully heal, all at the same time. A lot of people, civilians and soldiers, started drinking to drown their pain. Others just simply tried to forget the horrors of war and all they had to endure. Healing is a hard thing to do, especially for us who have been hurt. It's hard to move on with our lives. Many people may say, "How does someone just forget all that they have seen and done? How do you stop hating the enemy that you fought? How do you tell someone about Jesus Christ when they say there is no God? For if there was a God, then things would be better; there would be no death or wars." We really need to forgive those who have hurt us, as hard as that may be sometimes. Forgiveness is not just for those who hurt us, but it's also for us; it helps us to heal inside

Page 5

Our Repentence!

when we forgive. By forgiving others, God will also forgive us of our sins. Matthew 6:14-15 says, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." That is a stern warning to us; after all, if you are forgiven by Jesus, and we can't forgive someone else, then you are putting yourself above God and that is a very dangerous direction to walk. Totally forgive and you will feel a huge difference in your life and in your heart toward others. Healing comes through knowing Jesus Christ and having a relationship with Him. Whether it's healing of our soul or our land, it all comes through Jesus. Let's explore that now. When we really think about it, a lot of us are creatures of habit. I know I am, and when I change that, it throws me off

kilter. I like to keep things simple; it helps get me through the day. But sometimes, something will come up and I get myself all bent out of shape; it's not pretty. We all have good and bad days...we have the same routes that we like driving, the same way to work or shopping. We like to sit in the same chair while we watch TV, or order the same thing at a restaurant. It truly is hard to change our habits, it's even harder to break our habits. Sin is another one that is hard to break once we go down that slippery slope. Whether it's our sin or the sin of countries, we need to repent and move forward. If we don't repent God will only take it for so long, for about a season, and then He will punish those who have not repented. When we look at scripture, 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked

ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." This sermon had been preached by many Christians and pastors for a long time. One thing we can pick up from this scripture is to be "Humble." We can all relate to being humble, we also know that opposite of being humble is the attitude of pride or arrogance. We know how much God hates pride, arrogance and evil. Proverbs 8:13 says, "The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate." Another is Proverbs 11:2: "When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom." And Proverbs 16:5 says, "Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord; Though they join forces, none will go unpunished." But when we show respect to others and also put others ahead of ourselves, then we show our

Page 6

From the Pulpit...

love for God by helping others. When we go to God while being humble on our knees, our spirits are saying to God that we know He is in control, and we are not. When we are humble before God, it takes away our power, our will and our want to be selfsufficient. When we apply humility to the prayers for healing for all the disorder and conflict that is all around us, it is saying that all this can't be fixed with money, or harsher laws. It will take so much more than laws or money to heal our land, we need Jesus Christ Himself. The second thought from this scripture is "Hearing." We do have expectations of God when we pray to Him. We find ourselves listening because we want to hear from Him. We should listen and be quiet, because only then will you hear Him. Psalm 46:10 says, "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be

His Grace Magazine!

exalted in the earth!" But sometimes, we do tend to want God to agree with us and for Him to answer us quickly. I have heard some people say to me, "I have prayed, so where is He? Why isn't God answering me?" For one thing, we are to pray to Him without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:1617 says, "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing." God also moves in His time, not ours, so whatever you pray for may happen the next day, next week, next month or longer, but never stop praying. I remember reading a story about a woman who prayed that her dad would come to the Lord. She prayed that every day and night for over 50 years and one night he gave his life to Jesus just before he passed away, so never give up. This scripture says that God wants more from us than just words. We are to humble ourselves and approach God. We are to acknowledge that He is the only one who

September 2021

Our Repentence! can give us answers. As much as we want to have control over every situation and also be the one to fix the problem, we truly need to relax and rely on God. We are to go forward and seek God's face. Seeking God's face means more than just a quick talk, more than a quick prayer when we are troubled or afraid; it has to be a meaningful prayer, from the bottom of our hearts, with lamentations and tears. God also wants us to turn from our wicked ways in our lives. The Bible says that our ways are sinful; our hearts are lustful. We can look at it and describe it as habits or addictions, but the truth of it is that some choices that we make are sinful, because it's what we want. But what about what God wants for us? What God wants for us is so much better, as long as we wait on Him and not go out and do our own thing. That's where we get oursleves into all kinds of trouble. We just simply need

to stop sinning. Don't stay covered in sin; instead, let's be covered in the blood of Jesus Christ, because He will take your sins away forever. The third thought from this scripture is "Healing." Most of the time, we don't really think of healing with land, we think along the lines of physical healing instead...like when we cut ourselves, that will heal in due time; when we get a test result back from the doctor about a disease, and find out that we are completely healed. We might even think of our relationships with people that we know and love as healing...strife that may have been there. The healing of our land can't happen until God heals the wounds in our hearts. We can't be thinking that, 'I'm okay, but they are the ones that need healing.' We all do. When we have an open wound, we put ointment on a bandage, then a scab begins to form on the skin, and not too long

From the Pulpit... September 2021

after, it's healed with a stronger piece of skin. Have you let God begin that process of healing in your life? Jesus told us the story to show us the point in the parable of the Good Samaritan. A man is robbed, beaten and left to die on the side of the road. Two people of faith walked on the road and both passed by on the far side of the road. Then the good Samaritan saw him and helped the man. Luke 10:3035 says, "Then Jesus answered and said: "A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was and

His Grace Magazine!

Our Repentence!

when he saw him, he had compassion. So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, 'Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.'" A lot of people have thought this way: 'If I don't look, I don't need to do anything about it. If I don't look or think about it, the problem will just go away.' The truth is, it doesn't just go away; it festers. Sin has overtaken this world; it's gone rampant and it's getting worse. Where does it end? When does it stop? Some people have said to me, 'I'm waiting on God heal our land, to help us and then I will go to Him.' But in reality, God doesn't work that way. We must go to Him, so God is waiting on

everyone out there to repent of their sins and then turn from their wicked ways; it's the only way; this is how God works. It has to stop with us; we need to do a reality check. We need to humble ourselves before God; we need to stop our wicked ways and call upon God and ask Him to forgive us. My prayer is that everyone will listen and repent of their sins and give themselves to Jesus before it's too late. Come to Him before death and you will be saved. John 14:6 says, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes

Page 7

to the Father except through Me." So to answer a question asked earlier on page one, 'Is God real?' I say to everyone out there, He is more real than we are. If there was no God, then there is no way that Jesus would have let the Romans nail Him to a cross to take away our sins. There is no way that He would have preached about our Heavenly Father to all the people or to the Pharisees and Scribes. Jesus did all that for us because God is real...He would know, because Jesus is God in the flesh.

Jesus

The God Who Knows Your Name!

Book by: Max Lucado Written by: Lynne Wood

T

he title of this book is just one word: Jesus; oh, but what a powerful word it is! This book was written by Max Lucado. He is a teaching minister of Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, Texas. He is also one of America's best selling inspirational authors. Jesus is a very good book written by a great storyteller; he puts a different light on the life of Jesus. It doesn't matter if you're a believer or taking your first steps to becoming a Christian; you will enjoy reading this, as I have. As a believer, you need to have a relationship with Jesus and this book will start you on that journey. He shows you the person Jesus was on earth and how you can have that relationship with Him. The book is divided into six sections: Immanuel, Friend, Teacher, Miracle Worker and Lamb of God. Each chapter is a wonderful story for you to really get to know Jesus, the man from the Greatest Story Ever Told.

For thirty three years that Jesus was on the earth, He went through everything that we encounter in our lives today and so much more. Don't think for a single moment Jesus couldn't possibly know what you're going through,

because He does and He cares. And no matter what it is, Jesus will be with you every step of the way. In the pages of Max Lucado's book, he takes you there when Gabriel told Mary she would conceive a child and

His name would be Immanuel. You're in the stable where Jesus was born and through His ministry when He healed the sick and performed many miracles, when He was crucified and nailed to a cross for our sins. Finally, the greatest day was when the risen Christ defeated death for our salvation. Then Jesus was received into Heaven so all who truly believe are saved, as Jesus is the only way to Heaven. Jesus is knocking at the door of your heart. All you have to do is open it and invite Him in; you will be forever changed. Max Lucado's hope as you read the pages of his book: "May the Hero of all history talk to you personally, and may you find in Him the answer to your deepest needs." Philippians 4:4 "Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!" John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

Being Disciplined Dear Heavenly Father,,

I pray that we learn to appreciate Your discipline And not become despondent when You deal with us. May we be happy, knowing that You will never forget us nor leave us. Jesus’ wounds are proof that You love us. May we abide in Your love forever. In Jesus’ name we pray,

saiah 49:13: “Sing, O heavens! Be joyful, O earth! And break out in singing, O mountains! For the Lord has comforted His people, And will have mercy on His afflicted.” The prophet Isaiah lived about 2,700 years ago. Around that time, the Assyrians invaded the northern part of Israel and forced many people into exile. More than a hundred years later, the Babylonians conquered the southern part of Israel, destroying Jerusalem and the Temple, and forcing people into exile once again. Before the Babylonian takeover, many prophets had warned of this happening, but God’s people paid no attention and refused to amend their ways. Many people were also killed at that time, but the Lord never forgot them; nor will He forget us. Sometimes we feel, though, that God has forgotten us, especially when we are afflicted with troubles. They cause us to waver in

Sing, oh Mountains! such a way that we don’t rest on the promises of God. We become weak and stumble, and fall. But Isaiah 49:15 tells us,

And because of their unfaithfulness to Him, He faithfully disciplined them because He will not and cannot let

“Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you.” The Lord’s affection for His people is greater than the devotion a woman has for her nursing child. How could He, who chose you in Christ to save you before the foundation of the world, ever forget you? Yet, God’s people complained that their God had forgotten them.

them walk in the error of their ways. When God disciplines us, we murmur and complain. We become depressed and despondent. But God tests us in order to prove what is in our hearts, desiring that this will humble us and teach us to rely on Him. The goal of God’s discipline is to always bring His people back to Him. Isaiah 54:7-8 says, “’For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion

I will bring you back. In a surge of anger I hid My face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you,’ says the Lord your Redeemer.” Unfortunately, as long as we are filled with fear and anxiety, we doubt God. God reminds the doubting Jewish nation that He will protect and free His people and return them to their land. Despite their hardships, the Lord never forgot the children of Israel, whether they were exiled in Babylon or scattered all over the earth. God’s purposes are to be fulfilled there. Those who try to ruin that will be defeated and the land will become well populated and prosperous again. Isaiah 49:22-23 says, “Behold, I will lift up My hand in an oath to the nations, and set up My standard for the peoples; they shall bring your sons in their arms, and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders; kings shall be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers;

Page 11

Sing, oh Mountains! they shall bow down to you with their faces to the earth, and lick up the dust of your feet. Then you will know that I am the Lord, for they shall not be ashamed who wait for Me.” God is saying, “I’ll fight with those that fight with you.” Any nation that opposes the Jews is contending with the eternal God of heaven. We need confirmation and convincing that we have a cause to rejoice and be happy. We need to remember that whenever the Lord promises anything, we ought to be thankful and hopeful in the power of a God who has dominion over all the heavens and the earth and everything in it. When He lifts His hands, the heavens and earth are moved. Jesus’ nail-scarred hands prove how much He loves us… He has engraved us on the palms of His hands! This engraving is a present and permanent

memorial by which He remembers us. We have been cut into God’s flesh. How can we think that God could ever forget us? Isaiah 53:5 says, “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” God disciplines us with His fatherly love that we may become godly. His ultimate purpose is to conform us to the image of the Lord Jesus. We should consider it a privilege and blessing to receive His discipline, for without holiness, no one can see God or have fellowship with Him. These truths remind us that, even amid challenges or discipline, we should praise the Lord in all things and be glad because of the blessings of grace, peace, pardon, righteousness and salvation. In prayer, enter the

presence of His sanctuary and listen to what He speaks to you in your heart. Read your Bible and look to the cross. Then you will know the truth: “Yet I am always with You, You hold me by my right hand” (Psalm 73:23). When all human love fails, God’s love will see you through. We may wander and sin; God will discipline us when we do. But He will never leave us or forsake us. He will restore us, heal us, and comfort us. He will not treat us as illegitimate children, who nobody cares for. We are children of God; God will rebuke us and correct us when we stray. We all have tough days, and they can be hard. On such days, we need to recognize that every day we are breathing is a gift from God. Jesus is the very reason every Christian has hope and peace amid the battles and storms of

"Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts."

(Colossians 3:16)

life. Through our trials, we can know God’s faithfulness and can rest in His love in such a way that we can face any challenge. Before my feet hit the floor every morning, my heart is singing Psalm 118:24: "This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Our God is an allpowerful God; nothing in all creation can withstand His power. Kings and rulers will rise up and worship Him; true religion will reach the four quarters of the globe. We are to be glad because we have been delivered from sin and from the effects of the Fall. Even heaven and earth are asked to join in this great celebration. So let us rejoice in that hope and in the glory of God with the presence of the Holy Spirit abiding in us, guiding us through our lives, every step of the way.

US Citizens being Rescued

Retired Special Forces are rescuing US and Afghans that were left behind in Afghanistan

I

n August, the United States pulled their Forces out of Afghanistan after they went through the largest airlift in their history. Where thousands of people were evacuated, President Biden had left a number of Americans behind. After the US pull out, the efforts of rescuing Americans isn't over as Afghans are facing arrests, abductions and executions by the Taliban. A former Force Recon Marine and Afghanistan veteran, Chad Robichaux, is working hard to rescue all those who were left behind. He said, "I believe the level of desperation is even worse now without the US troops there, without any exit. People are hiding and on the run. The Taliban is actually going door to door doing executions. We have videos where they're going and grabbing people, stuffing them in trunks

of cars and driving them off to execution sites. I can imagine that the ground panic there is even worse than it was during those evacuation days." Just after the US announced its pullout, Robichaux decided to join other retired special forces soldiers to assemble their group called "Save Our Allies." He said they have gone in and rescued more than 12,000 US citizens and Afghan allies throughout the chaotic weeks before the US military's pull out. "The good news is that we're still being successful in evacuations, not in the big numbers that we were. We're still getting

100-200 people out per day." The rescue operation that is going on in Afghanistan is nothing new to Dave Eubank of the Free Burma Rangers. He said, "We're trying to help people get out any way we can. And I'm really grateful to the Tajik government that right now has a very humanitarian look of how can we help people." The White House and State Department is saying that there were only 100 US citizens left behind, but Chad says that it just doesn't add up. He said, "The truth is, it's not a few hundred. I would say it's a few thousand. My guess is

at least 5,000. And people were saying that's overestimating, but if you go back and listen to the Senate hearing, those numbers are about what the Senate hearing had concluded, over 5,000." It doesn't matter what the real number is; what matters is that the US citizens and the Afghan Christians and those who want to get out are in danger. Dave Eubank said, "The Taliban are hunting down people right now, trying to get all the names of anyone they perceive as an enemy." Chad Robichaux said, "A lot of them are hiding from the Taliban; they're scared. They don't know what to do. And they feel abandoned by our country that has a responsibility to help them." One thing that he fears is that President Biden and the media are starting to move on from the news in Afghanistan.

Jameis Winston, Saints QB

Page 13

I'm doing it for God! Jameis Winston scores 5 touchdowns in the Saints opener

ast week the NFL kicked off the 2021 season and everyone is watching a standout player who has replaced Drew Brees as the starting quarterback of the New Orleans Saints. New Orleans Saints quarterback Jameis Winston actually threw a total of 5 touchdowns on opening day, as he lead the Saints to a big 38-3 win against the Green Bay Packers. This game was to be played in New Orleans at the Superdome, but the game had to be moved to Jacksonville, Florida, because of hurricane Ida that hit Louisiana. This game was the Saints' first game without their long time starting quarterback, Drew Brees, who retired back in March of this year. Jameis said that Drew Brees taught him on

"being efficient" at playing the game of football. Jameis, who is 27 years old, said that he is thankful for God teaching him to be humble. Back in 2019, he was interviewed by Sports Spectrum, where Jameis said that he isn't rooted into sports, but he is rooted in Jesus Christ, who has taught him patience and perseverance on how to overcome. Jameis said, "I've been through ups and downs, but one thing about me is I always knew that

my identity wasn't in football, that it wasn't in baseball. I know that my identity always has been in Christ." He said, "All the glitz and glamour and that, it didn't really matter because I'm not doing this for me; I'm doing it for God. I'm doing it for God's pleasure. I'm not doing it for man's pleasure or for my own fame. So I had to understand that, and once I made that commitment in November 2014, I knew that was just the beginning." Jameis Winston

played for Florida State University football before signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2015. He played for them until 2020 when he started playing for the New Orleans Saints. Jameis won the Heisman Trophy in 2013 in Florida State, the ACC Athlete of the Year. He also won the Anthony J. McKevlin Award in 2014 and the Pepsi Next Rookie of the Year Award in 2016. Jameis recently shared on Instagram the Bible verse from Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." We will have to see where all this takes Jameis Winston this year with the New Orleans Saints and his football career. Jameis said that he is filled with God's grace. "He loves us no matter what. He is forgiving of us. His grace is so sufficient."

former American Football player, Jon Kolb played with the Pittsburgh Steelers for 13 seasons as a 6 ft 2 in, 262 lb. offensive linesman. Jon was born August 30, 1947 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. He is considered to be one of the best offensive linesman to ever wear a Pittsburgh Steelers' jersey. Jon had played from 1969 to 1981, where he won four Super Bowl Championships, all with the Pittsburgh Steelers (IX, X, XIII, XIV). Jon's ranking among some of the all time great football players was further established 13 years ago, as he was one of 33 former Steeler greats to have been named to the

Pittsburgh Steelers' All Time Team as part of the 75th Anniversary celebrations. While All Time Team selection Joe Green was Pittsburgh Steelers'

Hall of Fame head coach's Chuck Noll's first round pick, a young Jon Kolb that season out of Oklahoma State was his third round pick. Jon Kolb never was voted on to the Pro Bowl teams, but he was considered to be one of the strongest players in the NFL in his day. In 1978 and 1979, Jon decided to compete in the World's Strongest Man Competition, where he would finish in fourth place both years. When Jon retired from playing football in the NFL in 1981, Jon played a total of 177 games and he was a starter in 138 games all with the Steelers. After his retirement, he decided to take the job of Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers for 10 years. Jon also was the defensive coordinator with the Grove City College for six seasons. Jon now has his own business: a training facility and is an expert in health and fitness. Jon Kolb is possibly is in better shape today than he was when he was playing football with the Pittsburgh Steelers and was seen as the strongest player to play in the NFL. Jon Kolb presently lives in Hermitage, Pennsylvania with his wife Deborah. They have three sons. Jon is still teaching part time in the Human Performance and Exercise Science department at Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio as well as at BC3 in New Castle, Pennsylvania.

ave you ever thought about how great God's love is for us? People were strangers to God. We were sinners and His enemies because we chose to be. He created humans, gave them the perfect life in paradise, only to have them rebel and sin against Him. Prophets were sent by God, who were mocked, ridiculed, beaten and killed. Miracles were performed, saving the people of Israel time and time again only to have them rebel against Him and worship false gods. Finally, He sent His own Son. Jesus performed miracles, healed the sick, brought the dead back to life, fed the multitudes, taught people how to live and encouraged them to turn back to their loving Father. But He was crucified. Yet He forgave the very people who killed Him on the cross. Jesus demonstrated His profound love when He forgave the very people who killed Him. Still, God offers His enemies the opportunity to be adopted as

part of His family. Becoming a child of God is a great sign of God's amazing love for us. It is the love of God that caused the Father to give His only begotten Son as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world. It is the love of God that caused Jesus to take the sins of the world upon Himself on the cross of Calvary. It is the love of God that sent the Holy Spirit to abide in us to

become God's children. John 1:12 says, "But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God." In other words, those who both receive Jesus as Lord and believe in His name as the risen Messiah are God's children. We can be sure of this because of Romans 8:16: "The Spirit Himself bears witness with our

comfort, guide and teach us. And it is the love of God that has bestowed on all that believe on Christ Jesus to be called God's children. This is what we are ... sinners, saved by the grace of God, through faith in His Son ... and that grace proceeds from the Father. Believers truly do

spirit that we are children of God." When we become children of God, we progressively bear our Father's likeness. Some transformation is immediate, but not everything we will be has been revealed yet. Only when Christ returns will we

see everything He has in store for us. When God appears in glory, how will we be like Him? In eternity, Christians will be morally without sin, intellectually without falsehood or error, physically without weakness or imperfections, and filled continually with the Holy Spirit. Though we bear His name and likeness now while we remain on this earth, we still sin and our bodies age. However, in His appearing, there will finally be an end to our struggles. We will finally be able to enjoy our God as we were intended to. It is important to understand what it means to be a child of God. God's love is expressed to everyone in the giving of Jesus for the sins of the world (John 3:16), but this does not make all of humanity children of God. Because unbelievers do not have a relationship with Christ, they do not connect with His children. The world rejected Jesus and crucified Him. Jesus came unto His own

people as their King and paid the ransom price for the sin of the whole world. But the world did not recognize Him, for it had been blinded to truth by the evil prince of this world system... so He was despised and rejected by the world. Some thought He had a demon (Matthew 11:18, 9:34). Jesus Himself said they didn't know where He came from

or where He was going (John 8:14). And because the Lord Jesus was rejected, we will also be rejected by the world. If the world didn't accept Jesus, even though He performed many miracles and taught love and forgiveness, will the world understand or accept believers? NO. We will be rejected as well. They won't like us because we point out

their sin. John 3:20 says, "For everyone practicing evil hates the light, lest his deeds should be exposed." And they won't understand us because they don't see like we do. John encouraged his readers to be living the right way so that we would not be ashamed when Christ returns. His return is motivation for us to make use of our time and stay far away from

sin. The next time you are facing temptation, remind yourself that Jesus could come back any second. Be ready to meet your Maker! "See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him." (1 John 3:1)

Where we Are

We are destined to take on challenges; Each delivery may be different, Such as a medical emergency, Or a tragic vehicle accident. These trials become our teacher; Each situation becomes an opportunity To recognize what is familiar And see through the eyes of clarity.

As we rest in the steady rhythm Of our heart, let us remember That the One who abides in us Is our loving and eternal Father. He sends His Holy Spirit Who permeates our whole being With gratitude, kindness and joy Bringing waves of divine healing. Our Lord and Savior meets us Exactly where we are, In the clear and in the confused, In the light and in the dark.

(James 1:2-3)

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”

Movie in Review...Show me the Father His Grace Magazine!

“Everyone has a Father story”

T

his entertaining new inspiring documentary movie is about six different people with their emotional, powerful stories about fatherhood. There are a few good twists in the movie that will leave all the viewers surprised with the supernatural strength of God. Show Me The Father is packed with powerful biblical testimonials that shows us that Jesus

Christ is the model and design of what fatherhood should be. Show Me The Father describes to us the story of a football coach about how his own father treated him, as he acted like a father to all of his players that he coached. This documentary focuses on three individual players as their lives are changed forever by the coach's positive and caring

Christian viewpoints. The coach said that he wants to do so much more than just teach them to play the game of football. He wants to change their lives. There are so many story lines in this documentary, such as a man and his wife looking to adopt a daughter; and a man suffering from a heavy depression. Show Me The Father has the people that are in this documentary tell their stories with good visible support and footage that helps move the stories along. The men in the stories also share their encounters with God. This movie has a few clips of Dr. Tony Evens. He is the founder and senior pastor of the Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas. He gives heartfelt biblical answers about God, fatherhood and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Also they added a few inspiring interviews with family members and their comments. They include the three sons in one of the short stories with the inspiring, strong, heartwarming twists that will surprise you in the second half of

the movie, which reveals the power of God, our Father in Heaven, as He transforms lives and turns bad into something good. We go about things on our own and make a mess of things, but God will take that mess and turn it into miracles and blessings for us. Show Me The Father is a movie that has a very powerful and inspiring biblical view. An important part of this movie is that it distinctly tells the gospel of Jesus Christ. This movie shows us and emphasizes that Jesus Christ had become the visible image of God the Father here on earth. Jesus said to His disciples in John 14:7, "If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him." "Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him." (1 John 3:1) This is a fantastic movie to see with the whole family.
