劇團背景 ‧ 香港話劇團建團於1977年,於2001年公司化,

香港高中教育新學制進行改革:「通識教育科」兩年後 列為高中課程的核心科目,而中國語文科亦增加戲劇學習的比 重。對學生而言,我們期望課程改革能夠提升他們對藝術的興 趣,培育文化素養。就藝術工作者來說,希望來自藝術教育的 需求,讓他們獲得更多就業的選擇和機會。 我們作為一個職業劇團,首要任務是專注做好製作演好 戲,透過演出培養新觀眾。戲劇教育雖然也是發展戲劇藝術的 一部分,也是我們的「社會責任」,但我們的資源投放應該到 甚麼程度、讓我們在履行各項使命之間取得平衡? 一直以來,香港話劇團在戲劇教育和培養新觀眾方面從未 懈怠。就以2006財政年度來說,我們有兩位同事全職,連同其 他同事兼職,進行了109次特別為學校/社區而設的演出或外展 活動。另外,正場劇目演出,也設有13次特價學生場,為總場 數的11%。整年內我們在這方面的直接支出,扣除了演出/活動 費收入後,是總支出的2%,但並未包括間接的付出。目前,為 履行社會責任,配合新學制改革,我們正策劃與出版社結盟, 為2009年推行的新高中中國語文科設計「戲劇工作坊」課程。 民政事務局給予話劇團的經費,來自公帑,用以推動戲 劇教育、服務市民,完全穩當。不過我總覺得提升戲劇藝術是 香港話劇團的首要任務,而戲劇推廣可透過其他各劇團分工完 成。雖說怎樣平衡劇團自身工作的主次先後,我們可以自主, 我更希望民政事務局與教育局加強協調與溝通,後者投放更多 資源,全面和有效地落實藝術教育新政策,培養新觀眾,自然 水到渠成。

雖然香港話劇團公司化後已經六年,我們不但沒有放緩步 伐,反而在轉變中的大環境內繼續加速前行。怎樣在保持話劇 團的優良傳統之餘作出適當的嘗試和探討新的路向,從而拓展 話劇團更大的創作能量,正是我們努力的目標。 在2006/2007年度的劇季中,我們繼續製作優質的經典中 西劇目和有文化內涵、具普及性的舞台作品,同時亦上演值得 探索和嘗試的新劇種。戲劇有別於音樂和舞蹈,最特別的地方 就是其固有的形式和風格未必是藝術價值的保證。即使是同一 齣戲,無論它是屬於哪種類型的戲,每次演出都需要通過觀眾 的即時反應來確立它的生命。然而,有時過份遷就觀眾的口味 亦會造成演出傾向普及化,甚至商業化。那麼,話劇團又應該 怎樣釐定它的藝術取向呢? 話劇團固然是肩負著一份藝術的使命感,但是亦必須在 藝術與市場二者之間取得平衡。我們希望建立的是一種「雅俗 共賞」的多元化藝術風格,這亦是話劇團長遠發展所追求的目 標。例如,在本年度的主劇場劇目中,我特別重視話劇團這幾 年來在不斷創作和探索中所積累下來的藝術成果。從《新傾城 之戀》— 06傾城再遇的重演、美加巡迴和參加北京國際藝術節 的演出,到全新製作的「戲寶重溫」劇目《德齡與慈禧》 (國 /粵語版);從廣受歡迎的驚慄喜劇《長髮幽靈》,到瘋魔全球 的現代經典翻譯劇《藝術》;從改編自諾貝爾獎文學獎得獎作 家名著的激情政治劇《盲流感》,到參演「第六屆華文戲劇 節」、集探索和樹立獨特劇場風格於一身的原創劇《我自在江 湖》,均可以清楚地看到話劇團無論在藝術上、趣味上,以及

話劇團理事會 2006年香港話劇團踏入第六年公司化營運。第六屆理事會 於9月20日的周年大會上選出。周永成先生、鍾樹根先生及陳 鈞潤先生三位分別獲選連任主席、副主席及司庫。共10名成員 的理事會中,包括政府委任任期兩年至2008年的陸潤棠博士、 蒙德揚先生及蔡加敏小姐。 理事會全年舉行過5次會議,審視演出計劃、製作報告、 市務推廣計劃,財政收支,撥款申請和「場地伙伴計劃意向 書」,檢討演員及舞台人員的聘用方式等。行政委員會及藝術 委員會則分別就藝術方向、節目構思、市場策略、員工的招聘 及薪酬福利政策等方面開會討論。由楊顯中理事領導的市務推 廣小組,於2006年11月開始策劃劇團30周年團慶的宣傳活動。

演出視像檔案數碼化 為支持戲劇教育和研究,話劇團參予香港中文 大學胡忠多媒體圖書館「香港戲劇錄像檔案館」的 數碼化計劃。年中分批把本團自1980年起用不同制 式攝影保存下來的舞台劇錄像帶或鐳射影碟送贈該 圖書館集中保存收藏並作戲劇研究用途。

Accordingly, the sixth Council was elected at an Annual General Meeting held on 20 September, with Messrs Vincent Chow, Chris Chung and Rupert Chan retaining their positions as Chairman, Vice Chairman and Treasurer, respectively. The Council kept its Members at 10, of whom 3 – namely, Dr Thomas Luk, Mr David Mong and Miss Carmen Choi – were appointed by the Government for a term of two years ending 2008. The Council met five times during the year, with agendas including the Company’s programme proposals, production reports, marketing plans, financial statements, funding applications, venue p a r t n e r s h i p a n d s t a ff p o l i c i e s . T h e E x e c u t i v e Committee and the Artistic Committee also met in between Council meetings on issues regarding artistic direction, choice of programmes, marketing strategy and recruitment of, as well as remunerations for, suitable staff. To promote the Company’s 30th anniversary, the Marketing Working Group, under the chairmanship of Dr John Yeung, initiated its work in November 2006.

Staff Profile and Movement The Company maintained a force of 51 personnel, comprising 26 artistic staff, 12 stage management persons and 13 administrative officers. Veteran artists Lee Tze-tsim and Chan Lai-hing retired in March 2007. Three other younger artists, namely Kwok Tsz-wan, Kwok Chi-wai and Hung Yinghei, also left at the end of their respective contracts to pursue other interests. They were subsequently replaced by new recruits Rosa Maria Velasco, Wong Kin-tung and Huang Xianguang. Moreover, the Technical Department had the opportunity to take on a Trainee to strengthen its Wardrobe workforce.

Main Stage Productions and Rep 2 Attempts The Company mounted 3 new productions on its main stage during the year: Blindness, an allegorical play adapted from a novel originally written in Portuguese; Dust and Dawn, an original, swordsmen play; and Art, a French comedy. The Company also revived 3 reserved plays: the musical drama, Love in a Fallen City; the black comedy, Haunted Haunted Little Star; and the historical drama, De Ling and

playwrights, directors, actors and designers were invited to work together in some of these main stage productions. The Putonghua rendition of De Ling and Empress Dowager Ci Xi was a fortuitous match with the “Putonghua Festival 2006”, presented by the Education and Manpower Bureau’s Standing Committee on Language Education and Research (SCOLAR) for the purpose of promoting Putonghua among Hong Kong students. Providing a platform for new works developed in-house or externally, the Company staged 3 Rep 2 productions at the Black Box Theatre: The Chaochow Groom, The Lost and Found Trilogy and this happy VALLEY is VERY happy. The HKRep also lent its support to Theatre Space for a Black Box performance commemorating the 100th anniversary of the death of the contemporary theatre master Henrik Ibsen. Altogether 54,723 persons, comprising students as well as the general public, attended the Company’s 119 shows (88 main stage performances and 31 Rep 2 shows) this year, accounting for an average attendance rate of 90%. These statistics demonstrate the Company not only met the audience targets stipulated by its chief benefactor, the HKSAR Government, but also far exceeded its 2005/06 audience size (45,272) and attendance rate (85%). Total income from box office receipts, advertising and sponsorship deals reached HK$7.40M, against a total expenditure of HK$11.00M for production, promotion, venue and ticketing costs. We were therefore able to maintain a comparatively low production subsidy level of 33% (on average) this year.

Local Awards The Company’s 2006 productions received 12 nominations and 4 citations at the 16th Hong Kong Drama Awards. Wong Wai-chi was named Best Actress in a Tragedy/Drama for her performance in De Ling and Empress Dowager Ci Xi, while Blindness

Educational Outreach Activities To develop young audiences and to cultivate their interest in drama at the secondary and tertiary school levels, the Company continued to offer concessionary tickets and organised special weekday matinee shows for students, coupled with topical discussions prior to or after selected performances. Side by side, as “Artist-in-Residence 2006/07” at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, we adopted various approaches to promoting theatre among undergraduates. We also delivered our shows to schools and the communities. A typical example was the ‘moral education theatre project’: following a tour of 50 secondary schools, the production Elderly Not Stupid was supplemented with two post-show creative workshops and an essay-writing competition among the abovementioned schools. We likewise conducted a number of summer drama camps on acting and playwriting for students; contributed to the Tsuen Wan District Council Variety Show with a oneact play, Rose and Ham; and arranged two special performances of our Rep 2 productions for the Central and Western District Council. A d d i t i o n a l l y, t h e C o m p a n y e x t e n d e d i t s educational programme to include Macau. Upon the invitation of the Macau Education and Youth Affairs Bureau and hand in hand with actors of the Macau Theatre Farmers, we tailor-made an introduction to theatre, aimed specifically students at secondary school. On the brand reinforcement side, we contributed Love in a Fallen City to the Pok Oi Hospital’s fundraising programme and gained the honour of a Caring Organisation 2006/07 title, awarded by the Hong Kong Council for Social Service. Other community credits came from our supporting the “Basic Law Drama Competition” jointly organised by the Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education and the Home Affairs Bureau. Over 200 media interviews with the Company’s Artistic Director and the artists were arranged to raise the HKRep’s market profile. On the production packaging and marketing side, beyond employing conventional advertising and public relations tactics, we also devised various selling initiatives and strategies including pre-show seminars by scholars and specialists and the issuance of stop press for special events in conjunction with local newspapers, to maximise coverage of the Company’s offerings and boost our target audience’s awareness of the same. There was a positive response on the community support side as well. We succeeded in gaining sponsorships, in cash and in kind, from both individuals and corporations, for enhancement of our productions and for mounting our promotional exhibitions.

Digitisation of Video Recordings As its way of supporting local theatre studies and research, the Company joined the “Hong Kong Theatre Recording Archive” project initiated and funded by the Chinese University of Hong Kong. In tangible terms, we authorised the University Library to collect and preserve our stage production videos recorded since 1980, and to produce digitised copies of these for archival and academic research purposes.

The 6th Chinese Drama Festival The HKRep played an active and pivotal role in the “6th Chinese Drama Festival” hosted by Hong Kong in January 2007 to coincide with the celebration of the Centennial of Chinese Drama. Significant contributions included the provision of materials and administrative support for the Festival’s exhibition, “Play: Hong Kong Theatre – Romance with China”; the presentation of an original play, Dust and Dawn, as the Festival’s concluding highlight; and the lending of our Black Box Theatre venue in support of one of the Festival’s featured productions.

Financial Position The Company’s overall operational expenditure for 2006/07 was HK$34.67M. Although we had generated a favourable total income of HK$8.13M from box office receipts, advertising, novelty sales, equipment rental and commercial sponsorship, among other sources, the Company still needed a subvention of HK$26.64M to balance its budget in

在40年代初的上海,白流蘇離婚後一直住在娘家,由於 家人的冷嘲熱諷,令她恨不得盡快離開這個是非地。 在媒人徐太太的安排下,白流蘇遇上從海外回流正要和她 的七妹相親的范柳原。范相中陪客的白,後來更委託徐太 太請白到香港相聚,而白亦一口應允。 香港的淺水灣酒店成了范與白的拉鋸情場:范對白是忽冷 忽熱,而且還不獨對她好,同時也對另外的女子一視同 仁,令白難以適應。 在這時候,把自己押下去賭一鋪的白孤注一擲,以退為 進,一個人回到上海。范等不了多久就急電白,不但請她 回到香港,還給了她一個「家」。只是白仍然沒有個「名 份」。 1941年12月初香港淪陷前,范白二人當時是分隔兩地。 當范氣急敗壞地跑回家中,尋得嚇壞了的白,兩人方發覺 對方在自己生命中的重要性,范終於提出一待戰爭結束就 與白正式結婚。 很多年以後,在上海白家 …… In the early 40s in Shanghai, Bai Liusu, a divorcee, is staying with her own family. Yet it is a place of gossip and she is desperate to escape. Mrs. Xu, the matchmaker, arranges for Bai’s sister to have a blind date with Fan Liuyuan, a playboy just back from overseas. Bai accompanies her sister to meet Fan but it turns out that Fan falls for Bai. After their first encounter, Fan asks Mrs. Xu to invite Bai to come to Hong Kong to meet him. Bai agrees right away, ignoring all the gossip about her. The Repulse Bay Hotel becomes a place for tug-of-war between Fan and Bai. They get along well one day but then are at odds on another. He is being kind not only to her but also other women. Bai knows that if this tug-of-war lingers on, she may lose the battle completely. She decides to return to Shanghai. Not long after, Fan waits for Bai to arrive at the pier in Hong Kong. He gives her a “home” but she still does not get the “status” of being married. When the Japanese troops are bombing the Hong Kong Island, Bai and Fan are separated. When Fan rushes back to the house and finds Bai waiting for him there, they then know that they treasure each other so much. Fan then proposes to Bai and they plan to get married right after the War is over. Many years later, at the Bai’s house in Shanghai......

陳大妹為了一睹偶像鳳娜風采,到華氏片場當場記,專職拍板, 看盡片場的光怪陸離 --- 鳳娜擔心自己韶華老去,美貌不再,寧可 自殘肢體,整容隆胸;與鳳娜爭男友、爭戲份、爭排名、爭妍鬥 麗的女星菁菁在銀幕上活潑美麗,私底下潑辣刁鑽、刻薄自私。 男星冼偉演技欠奉,卻樂於周旋於二女之間,左右逢源。雖然片 場盛傳鬧鬼,但也無損片場鬧哄哄的氣氛。 大妹被導演余海發現原來是一名標緻小美人後,立即在新片《萬 花吐豔》任第二女主角。婷婷在片場任職的老父發覺大妹與死去 的女兒非常相似,一老一少遂成莫逆。婷婷感激大妹代為照顧老 父,把渾身功力盡注大妹身上。大妹一片成名,搖身一變為銀河 新一代彗星,從此星途燦爛。

Although the studio is said to be haunted, the ghost does not seem to steal attention away from the studio’s daily commotion. Yu Hai, the director, discovers Dai-mei’s beauty and makes her the supporting female lead in the new blockbuster Glorious Blossoms. When observing the uncanny likeness between Dai-mei and his late daughter Ting Ting, a young movie star who committed suicide, the old props master at the studio and Dai-mei become fast companion. Ting Ting is thankful of Dai-mei’s caring of her father and repays her with profuse assistance. Overnight, Dai-mei becomes a star of the silver screen, well on her way to a promising career.

To get a glimpse of her idol, Feng Nuo, Chen Dai-mei seeks employment at the Hua Studio as a clapperboard operator and bears witness to all the strange and bizarre events in a movie studio: Feng Nuo’s obsession with youth and beauty gives way to unnecessary self-mutilation through plastic surgery. The up-andcoming, younger star Jing Jing battles incessantly with Feng Nuo for men, roles, billing, and exposure. Her youth and beauty on the silver screen, however, hides her wicked, spoiled and selfish interior. Nevertheless, the artistically unskilled leading man Xian Wei is happily caught in between the two women.

An ophthalmologist tries to diagnose his distinctive white blindness, but is infected before he can read the textbooks. It becomes a contagion, spreading through the unnamed city. Trying to stem the epidemic, the authorities herd the blind into a mental asylum. The wards are terrorized by blind thugs. And when fire demolishes the asylum, the inmates burst forth and the last links with a supposedly civilized society are snapped.

Pictorial History. The Company contributed photos and information about its productions for the book. To support the development of drama education and research, as well as to preserve audio-visual records of its history, the Company transferred videotapes of its past productions, some dating as far back as 1980, to the United College Wu Chung Multimedia Library of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. The new custodians of the tapes will subsequently convert these to digital format. In the final quarter of the financial year, a working group was formed in preparation for the Cao Yu symposium, an academic event which eventually took place in May 2007. The objective of the symposium was to have scholars and directors from the Mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong revisit the great dramatist Cao Yu’s oeuvre.

外展巡迴演出及延伸活動 本地傑出年輕劇作家黃詠詩小姐應邀編寫了一個關 於長者晚年生活的巡迴短劇《老人不笨》,再配合繞圍 主題而專門設計的延伸活動:「為身邊人發聲」故事創 作工作坊及「你最重視的人」攝影徵文比賽,為全港2 萬7千多名中學生提供多元化,且別具教育意義的德育 劇場活動。

港教育圖書公司合辦 了不同類型的講座, 包括中國語文科支援 活動「小說賞析與戲 劇表演藝術」講座及 「怎樣通過戲劇提升 普通話的教與學」講 座,為推廣戲劇開拓 了多元化的渠道和空 間。

截至二○○七年三月三十一日止年度 FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2007 一 一般資料 香港話劇團有限公司(本公司)為一間無股本的擔保有限 責任公司。按照公司組織章程,倘在本公司清算時,每 位會員對於本公司債務之償還均需承擔,但每位承擔數 目,以不超過港幣一百元為限。 本公司的註冊地址為香港皇后大道中345 號上環市政大 廈4 樓。 本公司之業務為推動及發展戲劇文化,培養及提升大眾 對戲劇及其他藝術的興趣和品味。

二 編製基準 編製本公司財務報表乃按照香港會計師公會頒佈的香港 財務報告準則,包括香港會計準則及銓釋,香港公認會 計原則以及香港公司法例。本公司所採納之主要會計政 策概要列載於附註三。 編製符合香港財務報告準則的財務報表須採用若干主要 會計估計,管理層也須在應用本公司的會計政策時作出 判斷。惟無範圍須要更高程度的判斷或複雜性,或對財 務報表而言須要重大的假設和估計。 香港會計師公會已頒佈若干於本會計期間首度生效之新 訂及經修訂香港財務報告準則。經採納該等與本公司當 前及過往會計期間相關之準則後之會計政策改變已列載 於附註四。

( 甲 ) 編製基準 本財務報表是以歷史成本作為編制基準。

( 乙 ) 裝置、廠房及設備 裝置、廠房及設備乃按初始成本減累計折舊及累計 減值虧損入賬 (附註3(戊))。 裝置、廠房及設備的折舊採用估計可使用年期將成 本按直線法分攤至剩餘價值(如有)於其估計可使 用年期計算,主要之折舊年率如下:

1 General information Hong Kong Repertory Theatre Limited (the “Company”) is limited by guarantee, such that under the provisions of the Company’s memorandum of association, every member shall, in the event of the Company being wound up, contribution such amount may be required to meet the liabilities of the Company but not exceeding HK$100 per member. The address of its registered office and principal place of business are 4/F., Sheung Wan Municipal Services Building, 345 Queen’s Road Central, Hong Kong. Its principal activities continued to engage in promotion, maintenance, improvements and advancement of the interest of the public in Hong Kong and elsewhere in drama and various related art forms.

2 Statement of compliance with Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standard The Company’s financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards (“HKFRS”) which also include Hong Kong Accounting Standards (“HKAS”) and Interpretations ( “Int”) issued by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“HKICPA”), accounting principles generally accepted in Hong Kong and the requirements of the Hong Kong Companies Ordinance. A summary of significant accounting policies adopted by the Company is set out in note 3. The preparation of financial statements in conformity with HKFRS requires the use of certain critical accounting estimates. It also requires management to exercise its judgement in the process of applying the Company’s accounting policies. However, there are no areas involving a higher degree of judgement or complexity, or where assumptions and estimates are significant to the financial statements. The HKICPA has issued certain new and revised HKFRS that are first effective for the current accounting period of the Company. Note 4 provides information on the changes in accounting policies resulting from initial application of these developments to the extent that they are relevant to the Company for the current and prior accounting periods reflected in these financial statements.

3 Summary of significant accounting policies (a) Basis of preparation of the financial statements The measurement basis used in preparing the financial statements is historical cost.

(b) Property, plant and equipment Property, plant and equipment are stated in the balance sheet at cost less accumulated depreciation and any impairment losses (see note 3e). ( 辛 ) 撥備 就環境復修、重建費用及法律索償作出撥備,當 本公司因已發生之事件而產生現有之法律或推定責 任;較可能需要有資源流出以償付責任;及金額已 經可靠估計。重建撥備包括租賃終止罰款及僱員離 職付款。不就未來營運虧損確認撥備。 倘有多項類似責任,其需要在償付中流出資源之可 能性,根據責任之類別整體考慮。即使在同一責任 類別所包含之任何一個項目相關之資源流出之可能 性極低,仍須確認撥備。

(f) Trade and other payables

( 壬 ) 收入確認

Trade and other payables are initially measured at fair value and, after initial recognition, at amortised cost, except for short-term payables with no stated interest rate and the effect of discounting being immaterial, that are measured at their original invoiced amount.

(i) 政府資助收入乃根據合約之條款按權責法 計入。 (ii) 票房收入、外展及演出活動收入及工作坊 收入乃於演出後確認。 (iii) 捐款及贊助收入乃於收取捐款及贊助時確 認。 (iv) 利息收入採用實際利息法按時間比例基準 確認。倘一項應收款項出現減值、本公司 會將帳面減值至,按工具之原定實際利率, 將估計未來現金流入折現。而設定之可收 回金額,並繼續解除貼現作為利息收入。 減值貸款之利息收入於收取現金或收回成 本基準情況時予以確認。

( 癸 ) 僱員福利 (i) 有薪假期結轉

The Company is a non-profit-making charitable organisation and the charge for taxation is exempted. The surplus, if any, is not distributable to its members, therefore, it is inappropriate to account for deferred taxation in the financial statements.

(h) Provisions Provisions for environment restoration, restructuring costs and legal claims are recognised when: the Company has a present legal or constructive obligation as a result of past events; it is more likely than not that an outflow of resources will be required to settle the obligation; and the amount has been reliably estimated. Restructuring provisions comprise lease termination penalties and employee termination payments. Provisions are not recognised for future operating losses.

(g) Income tax

Where there are a number of similar obligations, the likelihood that an outflow will be required in settlement is determined by considering the class of obligations as a whole. A provision is recognised even if the likelihood of an outflow with respect to any one item included in the same class of obligations may be small.

amortisation are reviewed for impairment whenever events or changes in circumstances indicate that the carrying amount may not be recoverable. An impairment loss is recognised for the amount by which the asset’s carrying amount exceeds its recoverable amount. The recoverable amount is the higher of an asset’s fair value less costs to sell and value in use. For the purposes of assessing impairment, assets are grouped at the lowest levels for which there are separately identifiable cash flows (cash-generating units).

本公司遵照強制性公積金條例為合資格參與強 制性公積金退休福利計劃( 「強積金計劃」 )之 僱員在香港實施定額供款強積金計劃。供款乃 以僱員基本薪金之某百份率作出,及根據強積 金計劃之規則須予支付時於收益表中扣除。本 公司之僱主供款於向強積金計劃作出供款後, 悉數屬僱員所有。

(i)

Government subvention is recognised under the term of agreement on accrual basis.

(ii) Box office income, outreach and touring a c t i v i t i e s f e e s a n d w o r k s h o p f e e s a re recognised when the performance presented. (iii) Donations and sponsorship received are recognised on cash receipt basis. (iv) Interest income is recognised on a timeproportion basis using the effective interest method. When a receivable is impaired, the Company reduces the carrying amount to


its recoverable amount, being the estimated future cash flow discounted at original effective interest rate of the instrument, and continues unwinding the discount as interest income. Interest income on impaired loans is recognised either as cash is collected or on a cost-recovery basis as conditions warrant.

(子) 經營租約 本公司為承租人其應付租金以直線法按各自之租約 年期於收益賬扣除。 或然租金在其產生的會計期間於收益賬中扣除。

(i) 該方直接或間接透過一名或多名中介人: (1) 控制本公司、受本公司控制或與本公 司共同控制; (2) 擁有對本公司有重大影響之本公司權 益;或 (3) 對本公司有共同控制權: (ii) 該方為本公司之共同控制企業; (iii) 該方為聯繫人士; (iv) 該方為本公司之主要管理人員之成員; (v) 該方為 (i) 或 (iv) 所指任何個別人士之親 密家庭成員; (vi) 該方為受另一方控制、共同控制或重大影 響之實體,而該實體之重大投票權直接或 間接由 (iv) 或 (v) 項所述人士擁有;或 (vii) 為本公司僱員利益而參與僱用後福利計劃 之一方,或為本公司關連方之任何實體。 (寅) 發展基金 發展基金乃用於透過康樂及文化事務署署長所獲取 政府資助範圍以外之計劃,並且配合因捐助活動而 產生之經常性和非經常性之財務承諾。該基金之收 入表是與透過康樂及文化事務署署長所獲取政府資 助項目之帳目分別記錄。

(i) Paid leave carried forward The Company provides paid annual leave to its employees under their employment contracts on a financial year basis. Under certain circumstances, such leave which remains untaken as at the balance sheet date is permitted to be carried forward and utilised by the respective employees in the following year. An accrual is made at the balance sheet date for the expected future cost of such paid leave earned during the year by the employees and carried forward. (ii) Retirement benefit costs The Company operates a defined contribution Mandatory Provident Fund retirement benefits scheme in Hong Kong (the “MPF Scheme”) under the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance, for those employees who are eligible to participate in the MPF Scheme. Contributions a re m a d e b a s e d o n a p e rc e n t a g e o f t h e employees’ basic salaries and are charged to the income statement as they become payable in accordance with the rules of the MPF Scheme. The Company’s employer contributions vest fully with the employees when contributed into the MPF Scheme.

(k) Operating leases Where the Company is the lessee, lease payments under an operating lease are recognised as an expense on a straight-line basis over the lease term. Contingent rents are charged as an expense in the periods in which they are incurred.

(l) Related parties A party is related to the Company if: (i)

directly, or indirectly through one or more intermediaries, the party: (1) controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with, the Company; (2) has an interest in the Company that gives its significant influence over the Company; or (3) has joint control over the Company;

(ii) the party is a jointly-controlled entity;

(iii) the party is an associate; (iv) the party is a member of the key management personnel of the Company; (v) the party is a close member of the family of any individual referred to in (i) or (iv); (vi) the party is an entity that is controlled, jointlycontrolled or significantly influenced by or for which significant voting power in such entity resides with, directly or indirectly, any individual referred to in (iv) or (v); or (vii) the party is a post-employment benefit plan for the benefit of employees of the Company, or of any entity that is a related party of the Company.

(m) Development fund The development fund is used for non-subvented projects which fall outside the ambit of Government Subvention through the Director of Leisure and Cultural Services. The income statement of the development fund is separated from that for Government Subvention’s through the Director of Leisure and Cultural Services. The fund is to be used for matching any recurrent and non-recurrent financial commitments created by acceptance of donation for specific purpose.

Note 3 summarise the accounting policies of the Company, after the adoption of these developments to the extent that they are relevant to the Company. The application of these new and revised HKFRS had no material effect on the Company’s results and equity for the current or prior accounting periods. The Company has not early applied any new standard, amendment or interpretation that has been issued but is not yet effective (see note 17).
