Opens doors to global job opportunities, air cabin crew safety training and specialist industry skills.

You will expand your travel experiences by enjoying and learning through many UK visits as well as having the opportunity to take part in a cabin crew training day at either British Airways or Flybe. This is a great opportunity for you to develop your skills through practical demonstrations and hands-on experiences. This course has been designed to develop the vocational skills which are needed for a career in the travel and tourism sector and you also have the option of an overnight trip. In previous years Dublin has been a popular destination.

Your specialist tutors have strong links within the industry, which will enable you to gain the experience and knowledge you need to progress to the Level 3 Extended Diploma and on to industry or university-level qualifications.

Course Content You will cover a diverse range of topics throughout your course. A selection of unit titles is shown below. • The Cruise Industry • Working as an Overseas Representative • Promotion & Sales • Tourist Destinations

Assessment is continuous throughout the programme through assignments, projects and observations. A minority of examinations have now been included by the awarding body. All full-time students are required to study maths and English at the appropriate level. Please see page 6 for more details. Entry Requirements • Four GCSEs at grade 3 (or grade D) or above (to include maths and English) or the successful completion of a suitable and relevant Level 1 Qualification • Successful interview and initial assessment in literacy and numeracy • Applicants will be expected to demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to the chosen subject area
