Farriery Access Level 2

This is a preparatory course in forgework and horse care to give you the required level of skill for entry into the specialist and competitive Apprenticeship in Farriery.

To practise as a farrier you need to be registered with the Worshipful Company of Farriers. To register with them, you will need to successfully complete a recognised Apprenticeship in Farriery and the Worshipful Company of Farriers Diploma. The aim of this course is to provide an entry qualification route so that you can apply for an Apprenticeship in Farriery. Gaining an Apprenticeship in Farriery can be challenging and having basic skills in blacksmithing, welding and equine knowledge can greatly enhance your chances of success.
