Plumbing Level 2

This qualification is for those wanting to enter the plumbing industry. It gives you the opportunity to pick up some core skills and knowledge and gives you the opportunity to progress onto Level 3 Plumbing.

You will be learning basic skills and knowledge at a higher level than the Level 1 qualification, and will be supervised as you undertake various practical and knowledge based activities. You will need to gain a total of 49 credits overall from a selection of subjects which typically include: Copper Pipework, Plastic Pipework, Ground Maintenance, Installation Repair and Maintenance of Plumbing Systems.

Course Content Units covered include: • Principles & Processes of Plumbing • Central Heating Design & Installation • Hot & Cold Water Supply • Environmental Awareness • Sanitation • Electrical Wiring

Assessment is through written and practical centre marked assessments. All full-time students are required to study maths and English at the appropriate level. Please see page 8 for more details.

Entry Requirements • Entry on to the course will be by interview. • You should have GCSEs at grade 4/3. However, non-achievers will be required to study maths and English alongside the plumbing course to achieve the requirements. • Successful interview and initial assessment • You will need to demonstrate an enthusiasm and commitment for this subject area
