Spa Therapy Level 3

This course will give you the skills you need for a career in the spa and beauty therapy industry.

This course is designed to develop your practical beauty therapy skills in the College’s training/commercial salons. Previous students have progressed to a range of exciting careers including running their own successful salons and providing treatments on cruise ships across the globe. You will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety, client care and communication.

You will need to be motivated, professional and able to work and communicate with others. All assessments take place on fee paying clients, so you will need to organise your own clients to complete beauty therapy assessments. To add breadth to your learning, additional qualifications will be included within a full-time programme.

Entry Requirements • Successful completion of Level 2 qualification in Beauty Therapy or equivalent.

Duration One year

Course Content The course consists of the following units: • Body Massage • Aromatherapy with Pre-blended Oils • Indian Head Massage • Health, Safety & Security • Stone Therapy Treatments • Monitor Spa Facilities • Provide Body Wrapping Treatments • Provide Flotation Tank

Assessment is continuous and industry related, with assignments, tests, projects and practical work. All full-time students are required to study maths and English at the appropriate level. Please see page 8 for more details.

Aged 16 –18 years There are no tuition or examination fees

Material Fees There is a £145 material fee cost for this course.
