Travel & Tourism Level 3

Equivalent to three A Levels, this course is designed to provide you with the opportunity to gain detailed academic knowledge and understanding of the travel and tourism industry and the potential to open doors to higher education.

Your learning experience will be enhanced by a wide range of exciting trips and visits. This includes UK day visits and a European residential trip. Training with Thomas Cook will make up an exciting part of your Cabin Crew training. Our teaching team have strong links within the industry, including with TUI Cruising and British Ironworks which will enable you to gain the experience and knowledge to succeed in this sector. After completion, you may choose to work in a hotel, fly with an airline as cabin crew, or possibly choose a career closer to home in a travel agency. Many students also choose to progress to university-level courses before progressing into the industry.

Qualification Level 3 Extended Diploma in Travel and Tourism (equivalent to 3 A Levels)

Duration Two years

Assessment is continuous and industry related, with assignments, projects and practical work. All full-time students are required to study maths and English at the appropriate level, if not already achieved. Please see page 8 for more details.

Entry Requirements • Four GCSE passes at Level 4 (grade C) or above (including maths or English) • Or a merit or above in a BTEC L2 qualification • Successful interview and initial assessment • You will need to demonstrate an enthusiasm for this subject area
