Belgium recovers and rejoices! It is our wish to keep inspiring you with our reports with character. In other words, Dolce 22 is filled to the brim with authentic passions. Chefs Bart De Poorter and Bart Desmidt introduce a new concept by AEG and Geert Van Hecke is leaving his Molteni behind in exchange for a new brasserie. Gallery owner Guy Pieters brings world art to Knokke and Bartel Dewulf takes us along to his passionate suppliers. We are also visiting Pairi Daiza with chef Benoit Bourivain who will be using the Brennwagen barbecue and we are once again admiring a realisation by Frank Tack. The rebellious Cecilia defends Brussels and Frank Fol is showing us the map of vegetables and fruit.
We are making preparations in anticipation of Dolce’s Petanque event for Chefs and in the autumn we will experience the vermouth of all vermouths at Casa Martini. The horrific acts of 22 March will be engraved in our memories forever. A scar that will only

consequences for many of us. Yet, we did not rest on our laurels, and today Brussels can present some hopeful figures.
Even though the impact will resonate for a long time to come we must find the silver lining that events such as on 22 March can bring us. We, as human beings, must reflect on the truly important things in life. I am convinced that we should seek more enjoyment and look for a more authentic way of life. I think this is the university of life. Reflect, enjoy and love each other.

A veritable breath of fresh air In the shadow of the Ardo-site in Ardooie or, in other words, in the middle of Europe’s vegetable garden, you’ll find a completely renovated contemporary farmstead. The inhabitants, self-employed entrepreneurs, were looking for an interior decorator who could give their home the necessary flair.

Guy Pieters. A resounding name that you cannot ignore in art circles. Raised among the artists of the Latem school, together with his wife Linda, he has succeeded in setting up various art galleries during the past 35 years. Sint-Martens-Latem, Knokke, Saint-Paul de Vence and Paris do not escape his nose for creative talent. He does not ignore a single master of contemporary art. His portfolio is, to say the least, unique, he lost his heart to Knokke-Heist. Belgium’s biggest art dealer talks about his beloved town by the sea, fascinating adventures and fine dining.

Art Knokke-Heist Knokke-Heist and Art: the perfect combination! On an area of a 2 square kilometres, our seaside resort has around 70 galleries, one of the highest concentrations of art galleries in the world. But we have more than that: a walking or cycling tour of 34 works of art spread throughout the municipality and over the whole year through all kinds of exhibitions. A visit to our beautiful seaside resort to attend an opening event (vernissage) in one of the many galleries is invariably worth it.
Art Knokke-Heist is the event for the art lover. 45 art galleries coordinate their agendas with each other 3 weekends per year for an opening event (vernissage). This takes place on the first weekend of the summer, autumn and Easter holidays. This seventeenth edition takes place on July 2nd and 3rd.
