ITINERARY

DAY 1: Arrive Adelaide*

Welcome to the city of Adelaide, home of the Adelaide Oval, heritage buildings and gateway to some of Australia’s most notable vineyards. Once in town take a walk around the historic city streets and discover hidden gems like St Peters Cathedral or the Adelaide Parklands. Be sure to stop by the famous Haigh’s Chocolates visitor centre.

DAY 2: At Adelaide

Today is free to explore the town or region. You might like to head out to the McLaren Vale and visit the 5 level ‘Rubiks Cube’ known at the d’Arenberg Cube. Perhaps you would like to venture down to Kangaroo Island to discover over 250 species of bird life, wild koalas, and kangaroos.

DAY 3: Adelaide to Murray River

Enjoy a relaxing morning before you join your fellow cruise passengers aboard the PS Murray Princess. Departing from the historic town of Mannum, birthplace of Murray River trade and communication, set off downriver while you enjoy a Welcome Dinner. As you cruise under floodlight to the overnight mooring at Mundurra you may see nocturnal wildlife on the riverbank. Watch for kangaroos, hairy-nosed wombats, tortoises, egrets, and many other species. The on-board entertainer provides music for the night owls.

6 DAY DOWN THE MURRAY

DAY 4: At Murray River

After a hearty breakfast you will have a choice to join a guided tour of the towns historic landmarks and local attractions or go on a wildlife tour at Monarto Safari Park (additional cost). Those who choose to experience Monarto Safari Park will arrive back on board the PS Murray Princess in time for lunch. Meet at the Sturt Dining Room for a special presentation on the bounty of food and wine produced in the Riverland. In the afternoon, the cruise will continue the journey upriver then moor at Salt Bush Flat. After dinner, enjoy being entertained by the talented crew.

DAY 5: At Murray River

Join a guided nature walk this morning where your guide will share the secrets of the local flora and fauna. Near Fromm’s Landing, the cruise will turn and head downriver to River View Lodge (near Piggy Flat/Coolcha) where your discovery vessel waits to embark on a wildlife tour. Travelling in small, personalised groups, you explore the maze of the river and the amazing birdlife. Watch for darters, herons and egrets feeding along the river’s muddy edges. The afternoon offers a choice of bocce or fishing challenges before a delicious final night dinner in the Sturt Dining Room.

DAY 6: Murray River to Adelaide

As the PS Murray Princess heads back to Mannum you will enjoy your last scenic breakfast before disembarking and heading back into Adelaide.
