ITINERARY
DAY 1: Arrive Ayers Rock
Get ready for ancient indigenous culture, iconic rock formations, a Grand Canyon, and a landscape like no other. Start your Red Centre adventure with a stroll under the stars while the land around you is ablaze with over 50,000 spindles of light swaying to the rhythm of the desert. This isaptly named “Tili Wiru Tjuta Nyakutjaku” or “looking at lots of beautiful lights” in the local Pitjantjatjara language. The experience is accompanied by a selection of delightful canapes and your choice of sparkling wine or beer.
DAY 2: At Ayers Rock
Rising before the sun, you will make your way into the national park to watch as the first light touches the land and to absorb the enormity and beauty of the outback surroundings. After heading further into the national park, you will join multiple walks including the Kuniya Piti, a sacred site and the Mala Walk, one of the most important habitation areas for the local Aboriginal people over thousands of years. You will also join the Lungkata Walk where the guide will delight you with the Tjukurpa story of the cheeky Blue Tongue Lizard! You will be back at your accommodation around midday where you can sit back and relax after your morning walks, take a swim or join one of the many free activities offered by the resort.
DAY 3: At Ayers Rock
Today you will get a true sense of how remote the Australian outback is when you head to the heart of Watarrka National Park. Kings Canyon is an ancient Australian landscape that is sacred ground for the Ulpanyali and Lilla people and where you will join the once-in-a-lifetime scenic rim walk. Climb a 100-metre cliff face to witness views of sandstone walls, grottos, chasms and cliffs. Or if you feel like something a bit more relaxing, set off on a 2km stroll along the creek
