The HCG Story... The story of HCG began in the Fifties when, after having done research on weight loss for 40 years and research on HCG specifically for twenty years, Dr. Simeons reported that patients taking small amounts of HCG, in conjunction with a very low calorie diet, could lose weight safely and quickly, without exercise, hunger, irritability, muscle injury or weakness. But all HCG is not created equal. Unfortunately, there has been a lot of confusion created by products being sold without guidance that call themselves “HCG” but do not contain any in their ingredient list. HCG is one of 67 hormones naturally produced in the human body, so if a product states that it is hormone free; it is not HCG. Dr. Simeons’ diet protocol ought not to be followed without real HCG. The Pounds and Inches Away program starts with pharmaceutical HCG. HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) is not a growth or sex hormone; it does not feminize men or masculinize women. It is not an appetite suppressant, stimulant or vitamin supplement. Nor does HCG produce weight loss by itself. However, in concert with a very specific balanced diet, and our help in avoiding unexpected environmental or behavioral deviations, HCG will allow the body to naturally pull the nutrients and calories needed from stored fat reserves into the blood stream at the rate of 1500 to 4000 calories per day. We are sure that those who follow our protocol WILL lose 20-30 pounds in 40 days. These fantastic results ARE typical with our full service packages. The Pounds and Inches Away program is not your run of the mill “eat less and exercise more” diet for a slow loss of 1 to 2 pounds a week that seems to take the rest of your life. Our protocol tricks Mother Nature a little, maybe, however only natural processes are
at work. Per Dr. Simeons, it is safe and so very effective. At Pounds and Inches Away, we are also excited to be able to offer Whole Kathryn Azhar, Owner Body Vibration and her staff technology by Advanced Healthworks to help people reach their goals. Ten minutes on our “Jiggy” machine produces benefits comparable to those gained in a onehour workout without the sweat and effort of traditional exercise. More than 700 medical studies have been published about the health benefits of Whole Body Vibration. These benefits include improved circulation, increased muscle strength and flexibility, better core conditioning, improved range of motion, enhanced metabolism, increased bone density, and more. The Whole Body Vibration technology has also been used to improve problems with osteoporosis, diabetic neuropathy, fibromyalgia, incontinence, arthritis, Parkinson’s’ disease and other conditions. We encourage the use of these machines for their wonderful skin tightening effects. To get slim and stay that way, call our office at (317) 849-THIN today. How much do you LOVE yourself? As I continue my series to bring you my thoughts and suggestions on how to create more of what you are looking for, this month’s focus is on Love. After all aren’t there more weddings in June than any other month? If you are looking for more love in your life, I agree with motivational author, Louise Hay – “If we really love ourselves, everything in our life works.” So do you love you? That is where it starts. Do you love your life? Do you love what you are doing in your life? Do you love your values, your work, your relationships and your hobbies? Do you love life? If not, focus on you and learn how to love you first. Louise also says, ““When we expand our thinking and beliefs, our love flows freely. When we contract, we shut ourselves off.” So to have more love in your life, embrace yourself and open your heart and mind so love flows through you in everything you do. So what does all this have to do with Women Changing Lives? We want to help you get the things you are wanting more in life. We 8

SPOTLIGHT CaringSmiles 4u is devoted to comprehensive
and preventive dental care for children, teens, and young adults in a caring, fun and gentle manner. Our office has a lovely fun-filled, beach theme atmosphere. At CaringSmiles 4u, Dr. Taylor and her staff are concerned about your child’s total health care. We seek to instill good oral hygiene in children as well as to teach them that the dentist is not just there for when you hurt. Establishing CaringSmiles 4u as your child’s “Dental Home,” provides us the opportunity to implement preventive dental health habits that keep a child free from dental/oral disease. We focus on prevention, early detection and treatment of dental diseases, and keep current on the latest advances in dentistry for children. This will enable your child to maintain a beautiful smile for a lifetime. Pleasant visits to the dental office promote trust and confidence in your child that will last a lifetime. Our goal is to help all children feel good about visiting
the dentist and to teach them how to care for their teeth. From our fun beach office design, to our happy communication style, our main concern is what is best for your child. They can come to the dentist for preventive care as well. Along with establishing a good oral Juanita Taylor, DDS hygiene routine, Dr. Taylor also understands the importance of a healthy smile in developing self-esteem. This is especially true in childhood and teenage years when children begin socialization and interacting with other children. “Your smile is one of the first things that is seen when you meet someone, and it is important to maintain a healthy and beautiful smile,” notes Dr. Taylor.

Train Your Brain to Believe In You! When you create positive self esteem you train yourself to look at what is working in your life and you learn to minimize the things that may not be working for you. You train the brain to believe in yourself and if there are things that have not been put in your life you either believe that it will show up for you at a later date or better things are going to occur to replace that singular thought that you had for your life. This takes a lot of emotional maturity because it’s easy to focus on what is not occurring as posed to what is present in your life today.
deserve it, and you look for ways to make your life happen.
If you suffer from low self-esteem, I would like you to ask yourself the following: Is my negative thinking and pessimism contributing to my low self-esteem, or is my low self-esteem causing my negative and pessimistic attitude?
As you assess where you are in your own emotional maturity ask yourself the following 5 questions that contribute to good self esteem.
Regardless, it's absolutely critical that someone with low self-esteem retrain their faulty thinking. Let me give you some examples of two very different types of mentalities when dealing with self-esteem. • Women with low self-esteem believe the world is not working for them. Positive thinkers look at life's circumstances as opportunities to grow and learn. • Low self-esteemers look at life with a negative slant. They look at life as a struggle. Good selfesteemers look at life as a challenge and believe they can accomplish goals to get the desired results. If you suffer from low self-esteem you will tend to see yourself as a victim. You believe that life has done you wrong. You let the devastation be the primary feeling. You use self-talk like, "This will ruin me." "This is because I'm not good enough." "I hate myself." When bad things happen to people with healthy self-esteem they immediately look for ways to combat the situation. They use phrases like, "I'll get around this." "I can do it." "This is just a stumbling block." You see, women with low self-esteem limit their own expectations. They don't believe in themselves so they don't believe great things can happen. When you like yourself, you believe you can achieve. You know you
Your attitude is the number one contributor to your self-view. If you downplay your character, your abilities, and your talents, you will never fully actualize as Carol Juergensen Sheets a person. When you have good self-esteem you recognize that you're human, so you know your own limitations and as a result you work with them.
• Do I engage in life and believe that the universe is providing me everything I need to become stronger? • Do I focus on what is working on my life and feel empowered by it? • Do I believe that I can affect my own life and that I can design my life to support my endeavors? • Do I see myself as strong and focus on positive self talk to get me through the day? • Do I surround myself with supportive people who remind me of my strengths? When you follow these guidelines you are more likely to have gratitude for what is going right and you will enjoy life more. You will see yourself as actively engaged in life and you will be more empowered to know your strength! Carol Juergensen Sheets LCSW PCC is a psychotherapist and personal life coach. Get to the DOING of It! How many web sites have you visited this week? How many seminars have you been to this year? How many webinars have you sat in on? How many “pick your brains” coffees have you had? Chances are, plenty. You’re on information overload. You keep thinking that the next post or the next teaching is going to give you the one “secret” that’s going to tip you over the edge and make you a wildly successful marketer. It’s not that easy. You know what’ll make you a successful marketer? Marketing. Sitting down and finally doing all that stuff you’ve learned about, whether that’s getting your web site updated or firing up those social media accounts. Knowledge is power, but only if you put it to ACTION! Don’t let paralysis by analysis become an excuse not to get started and to keep waiting, waiting, waiting. Eventually, all that good stuff you learned stops doing you any good because it’s become obsolete. Get to it already! Here’s how you can make the most of those fabulous seminars & webinars you attend: from every event, get one takeaway. Maybe that’s to create a blogging editorial calendar, create a Pinterest account or figure out what your brand voice is. It doesn’t matter what, simply that it’s a single actionable goal. Now, promise yourself not to go to any more seminars, attend any more webinars or spend any other significant time researching anything that doesn’t support your goal to implement one strategy. Keep the promise to yourself until your
goal is completed. You’ll be surprised how much more results you will achieve with just one take away from each teaching. Instead of winding up with reams of notes you know you’ll never use, you’ll have a laser-focused vision of what needs to be done and how to go about doing it.You could spend the rest of your life going to conferences and absorbing information like a sponge. If you’re anything like me, you’ll even enjoy every minute of it. But remember: the goal of marketing is not to become a marketing expert. The goal of marketing is to be awesome at selling your products or services - YOU and YOUR company. Put your knowledge into action! If you’re keeping all that information filed away or stored on a notepad, what’s the point? Stop burying yourself in information and start acting. Go back to your notes from your last conference or your last blog binge and find the one thing that’s going to make your business better right now. And from the wisdom of one of the greatest marketers of all time, Nike Just Do It! Shelly Aristizabal is the author of This Is Your Year to Design & Live the Life of Your Dreams, a leader in the Community Commerce Industry, Motivational Speaker and the New President of Business Women Connect. Business Women Connect is an organization that provides resources, education and connections to help women DO business! Visit www. WHAT WOULD WE HEAR IF WE LISTENED? -- PART ONE What is in nature? Does it speak to us? If so, it may be difficult to hear it because of all our beeps, bells and digital sounds. Time alone in nature can work wonders for the soul. (This would necessarily mean without iPhone or iPad.) Most artists of note extol the virtue of spending time alone in nature. Claude Monet, the famous 19th Century Impressionist, is known to say, “The richness I achieve comes from Nature, the source of my inspiration.” Monet’s works are featured at The Art Institute of Chicago. In the early 1980’s, I was fortunate enough to attend a special expanded exhibit of Monet’s works at The Art Institute. I remember this experience well. Monet’s art spoke to my heart, and I felt myself brought into the peacefulness of the scenes in nature he painted.
Lisa Adler
My father also loved nature. He knew the names of almost all trees and birds. He would walk in our big backyard and
carefully tend to all the various flowers he had planted. (I am reminded that he lovingly cared for those flowers the same way he cared for our family.) He was content to Marti Starkey sit and watch almost any scene in nature, and he would notice the tiniest detail of a sunset or a bird’s nest. (If a particular sunset was of note, we would call each other to say "sky alert" - this went on for years.) My dad had an unusual peacefulness to himself, and I often wondered if it was, in part, because he was so in tune with nature. He would not have even considered bringing a cell phone to interrupt the space. Why not try it? Turn off the digital machines, and be still, knowing there is more out there than we can even imagine. by Marti Starkey

The Inner Ecosystem – A Microcosm of the World’s Ecosystem?
O
Nancy Spahr, Founder
ur current growing awareness of the state of the world’s ecology appears to be coinciding with a reawakening of our understanding of the body’s “inner” ecology. On-going research continues to find that the 3-4 lbs of friendly live bacteria (microflora) residing in our 25 feet of intestines appear to directly act with our immune system.
When the inner ecosystem of the intestinal tract is well-established with healthy microflora, one will experience better digestion, proper elimination, improved assimilation of nutrients, and slow the aging process while decreasing the rate of some degenerative diseases. However, toxic overload and poor waste removal promotes stress and symptoms such as bloating, gas, depression, headaches, skin rashes, irritability, and joint and muscle pain.
In a healthy environment the microflora can thrive and repopulate – keeping our immune system strong. Unfortunately, the standard American diet (SAD), with an emphasis on high animal protein, acidic beverages such as coffee, sports drinks and sodas, processed sugar and wheat products, prescription drugs and overuse of antibiotics lead to an inner ecology composed mostly of pathogenic bacteria, yeast and systemic fungal infections – the hidden invaders. One well-known yeast organism, candida albicans, has been around for thousands of years, but only in modern times has it overtaken and compromised our immunity. A quick quiz can determine if candidiasis is troubling you. Many natural health practitioners are advocating the use of traditional foods and beverages. These include cultured vegetables (similar to sauerkraut), young coconut water kefir, milk kefir, kombucha, and miso. These “superfoods” added to a diet consisting of fruits, vegetables, and ionized water creates the alkaline environment to rebalance and repopulate the levels of good bacteria for optimal health.
