What is the Sign of a Good Decision? ® Provided by Lynn Achinger, a financial representative with WestPoint Financial Group, a MassMutual Agency; courtesy of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company What is the sign of a good decision?® Finding a financial professional who understands you, what you want and how you want to work with them. Specific financial challenges Let’s face it, today’s woman is amazing. You juggle changing and growing roles in the workplace with responsibilities on the home front. On top of this, you may have made deliberate decisions to care for your family that may have sidetracked your career and personal investment potential. And any savings shortfalls due to career and family situations, sometimes beyond your control mean that your assets need to work smarter. Without a solid financial strategy – and the right guidance in the process, you may find yourself –or your family – coming up short. Many women live in the present – focused on today’s pressing responsibilities and feeling divided
in caring for themselves and their families – with financial security perceived as a future need. Yet, now is when to consider future needs. Unfortunately, relatively few women do. However, women are not in the dark about their financial vulnerability. A sound financial strategy It’s easy to displace planning on your list of competing priorities, convincing yourself that illnesses or injuries, leading to financial shortfalls, are remote, when in fact, they can be all too real. A trusted professional Work with a trusted financial professional who listens and helps you with an effective approach who understands you. © 2011 Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, Springfield, MA Insurance products issued by Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual), Springfield, MA 01111, C.M. Living Your Potential Have you asked yourself the questions – “What on earth am I here for?” “What is my purpose in life?” Of all the great pursuits of life, to me this is the most important!! I believe every virtue, treasure and reward in life is obtained through the quest to live your Potential. Potential is what you can become, the Best possible version of yourself. When you know the purpose for your life and understand the big picture, then all the pieces of your life fit together. When you are doing something you feel is meaningful and makes you happy while you are doing it, then you are following your purpose and living your potential. Some call it mojo or the positive spirit of what you are doing. Who are you? What are you good at? What do other people think you are good at? Dare to dream about what you can achieve. Many people lock their greatness away, afraid of their own vast potential. It is said that the greatest waste in the world is the difference between what we are and what we are capable of doing and becoming. Where do you start? By realizing your greatness. You will only be truly happy when you are living up to your strengths, passions and capabilities. Listen to your heart. That is where you discover your bundle of desires, hopes, interests, ambitions, dreams and affections. Today the average life span is 25,550 days. That is how long you will live if you are typical. It may be a good use of time to spend a few of those days reflecting, praying and reading to help you discover how to Live Your Potential.
Take a few minutes now to do a few activities that may help you begin to discover your purpose. BE Honest! 1) Make a list of 10 things you would do for free - to discover your passions. (2) Make a list of 10 things you are good at - to discover your talents. 3) Make a list of 10 things you like to do now. (4) Make a list of 10 things you would like to do some day. Need help? Sit down with a friend or family member who you trust to be open and honest with you and ask them to give you feedback. Still having trouble? Ponder this... if you were given all the money you ever wanted, what would you do with it? What would you do tomorrow if time and money were not an issue? What are you good at? What were your dreams as a little kid? You were put on earth to make a contribution. Discover your passion and live your potential. Invest in your passions. Follow that still small voice inside of you and be comforted in knowing God has a plan for your life. I know that when you ignite that flame of potential, it will set you afire to live the life you are meant to live. What Is Your Purpose? If I had one wish for you in 2013 it would be that you would find ways to meet your physical, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual needs. Realistically, it may be difficult to diligently attend to each need. A single mother may have less time to meet her intellectual needs if she is working two jobs. An introvert may have trouble increasing his social needs because of his shyness or discomfort being around people. It is important for you to familiarize yourself with your basic needs and then to assess whether there is room for improvement. As you address your needs, it is important to consider your purpose. Each person was put on this earth to make a difference. This does not require accomplishing monumental feats. It entails paying attention to the special gifts that you can offer to your family, work, or community. The gifts may seem ordinary to you but typically there are others that will tell you that you possess a talent or skill that affects them in a positive way. Perhaps you are a mom who has a real knack for playing with your children. You might be a natural born leader who has special skills in mediation when things get tough at work. You may be a church member who brings doughnuts to share with the kids after the service. All the children recognize you as the “doughnut lady” which automatically makes you and the kids smile. There is no purpose too large or too small. It’s about making the lives of others a little easier which brings you that sense of purpose. As you look at your life, decide what brings you the most joy. Things that bring you joy or passion are typically in direct alignment with your purpose. Do you enjoy leadership? Being with children? Spending time with animals? Do you enjoy sewing, cooking, fishing or fitness? Is there a way to incorporate your passion or purpose to enhance the lives of others? Now I would suspect that as you are reading this column, there is something that has tugged at your heart and reminded you of that special something that you can offer the world. Your assignment for this month is to think of
20 things that bring you joy. Once you have made your list, ask yourself is there a way to spread the joy?
• Do you love sharing a positive attitude with Carol Juergensen Sheets others? Join the Optimist’s Club and surround yourself with others like you. • Do you love animals? Get on the Web and look for opportunities to volunteer at the Humane Society. • Do you love speaking to others? Write an inspiring speech and contact your local Rotary or Kiwanis club and ask to present it during their monthly meetings. • Do you love sewing? Designate a regular time and create a charity project to donate to your local hospital. When you are in direct alignment with your purpose, you connect with others who will act as conduits for your mission. People will help you with your purpose when you recognize, and manifest it. As you review your life, your needs, and your sense of purpose, take some time and reflect on what you have to give to the world. Spend some time deciding how you can fulfill that need in small ways and watch how your purpose evolves over time. Don't underestimate your power. Use 2013 to spread the joy you feel from making a difference. Carol Juergensen Sheets LCSW PCC is a psychotherapist and personal life coach. How Do I Know if I Need to Colonic? Don’t get trapped by the guilt of festivity! Here are five ways that you can enjoy the abundance of the holiday season while still helping your body to cleanse and strengthen. The answer is simple. Dr. Duncan Lindsey states,After Nancy Spahr, consulting with more than Founder 8,000 clients, I can honestly say that I've never worked with an individual who didn't benefit from detoxifying the internal body. It can be compared to asking your auto mechanic if the oil in your car ever needs to be serviced and changed. The human body is one of the best detoxification machines in creation, but even the best machine can lose efficiency if it is overloaded. When we don't eliminate properly, wastes may not be expelled for days, weeks, months, or years. When we don't eliminate our waste - whether it's from toxins in the air, or from fatty, sugary foods; the toxins back up in the colon, which can cause autointoxication, 8
self poisoning. And you can't be completely healthy if you're carrying a load of toxic substances in your body. Toxic build-up in the body, particularly the bowels, is the root cause of many of today's chronic health problems. A complete internal cleansing program that includes colon hydrotherapy and also addresses the blood, tissues and cells, with emphasis on the five channels of elimination (bowel, lungs, skin, kidneys, lymph) almost always produces definite and positive results. The bonus is that once the gastro-intestinal tract is cleansed, the digestive system is better able to absorb and assimilate all nutrients. This means that you will experience quicker and more powerful results from nutritional programs. One cannot over-emphasize the importance of proper digestion and elimination. But in order for the digestive system to work optimally, the eliminative system must work optimally, as well. To learn more about improving your digestive and colon health call Cleansing Waters - a Colon Hydrotherapy and Body Ecology Center dedicated to empowering the individual in reclaiming health and wellness in a natural and sensible manner. 317-259-0796.

HCG DIET What is the HCG Diet? HCG is a weight loss program that allows your body to release the abnormal fat stores (abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks, face and arms) of about 2,000 calories per day into your bloodstream allowing you to follow a very low calorie diet (VLCD). It reshapes the body contour especially the abdomen, buttocks and hips. How much weight will I lose with the HCG Diet? On average patients lose about a pound a day when compliant with the program. Normally a VLCD would be impossible, but the HCG suppresses the appetite. How will the HCG diet protocol help me maintain my weight?
the Internet claiming they work as well. We use the only medical-grade, patented HCG product available on the market. It is double-tested to ensure strength and quality and can only be prescribed by a physician. Some products may contain undisclosed additives and may not be manufactured in a sterile laboratory. Why should I choose this HCG diet over other weight loss programs? The HCG diet will “jump start” your weight loss so that you lose weight rapidly and see immediate results. Less expensive “per pound lost” than other weight loss programs. It can be a life-changing event to get you on the track to the NEW HEALTHIER YOU!!
The HCG diet protocol addresses the root cause of being overweight - Abnormal Fat stores. It will “reset” the metabolism so that once the weight loss goal is achieved and a healthy, low calorie diet and exercise are resumed, the weight can be maintained. I’ve heard there are cheaper oral HCG programs? There are many copycat formulas being sold over

SPOTLIGHT The HCG Story... The story of HCG began in the Fifties when, after having done research on weight loss for 40 years and research on HCG specifically for twenty years, Dr. Simeons reported that patients taking small amounts of HCG, in conjunction with a very low calorie diet, could lose weight safely and quickly, without exercise, hunger, irritability, muscle injury or weakness.
of 1 to 2 pounds a week that seems to take the rest of your life. Our protocol tricks Mother Nature a little, maybe, however only natural processes are at work. Per Dr. Simeons, it is safe and so very effective. At Pounds and Inches Away, we are also excited to be able to offer Whole Body Vibration technology by Advanced Healthworks to help people reach their goals. Ten minutes on our “Jiggy” machine produces benefits comparable to those gained in a one-hour workout without the sweat and effort of traditional exercise. More than 700 medical studies have been published about the health benefits of Whole Body Vibration. These benefits include improved circulation, increased muscle strength and flexibility, better core conditioning, improved range of motion, enhanced metabolism, increased bone density, and more. The Whole Body Vibration technology has also been used to improve problems with osteoporosis, diabetic neuropathy, fibromyalgia, incontinence, arthritis, Parkinson’s’ disease and other conditions. We encourage the use of these machines for their wonderful skin tightening effects.

But all HCG is not created equal. Unfortunately, there has been a lot of confusion created by products being sold without guidance that call themselves “HCG” but do not contain any in their ingredient list. HCG is one of 67 hormones naturally produced in the human body, so if a product states that it is hormone free; it is not HCG. Dr. Simeons’ diet protocol ought not to be followed without real HCG. The Pounds and Inches Away program starts with pharmaceutical HCG. HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) is not a growth or sex hormone; it does not feminize men or masculinize women. It is not an appetite suppressant, stimulant or vitamin supplement. Nor does HCG produce weight loss by itself. However, in concert with a very specific balanced diet, and our help in avoiding unexpected environmental or behavioral deviations, HCG will allow the body to naturally pull the nutrients and calories needed from stored fat reserves into the blood stream at the rate of 1500 to 4000 calories per day. We are sure that those who follow our protocol WILL lose 20-30 pounds in 40 days. These fantastic results ARE typical with our full service packages. The Pounds and Inches Away program is not your run of the mill “eat less and exercise more” diet for a slow loss

Let's Cut the Excuses in 2013
New Years brings about the sense of a new beginning or a fresh start. Let's face it, change is tough. If it wasn't, everyone would be doing it. So, now you have this fresh start, but one thing hasn't been addressed. You are still the same person. We all have attitudes and habits that need to change if we want to reach our ideal self. One of the most popular New Year's resolutions is to lose weight or just get back into shape. I hear excuses throughout the year of why someone cannot commit to an exercise program. By identifying our excuses I believe we can face reality, make new healthy habits, change our attitudes, and reach our goals. Here are two of the most common excuses I hear and my response to these excuses: • "I just don't have the time in my day." We are all busy and if your health is important to you, make the time. You have to make the time. Some of the most fit people I see in the gym are the busiest people. They get in the gym, take care of business, and get out. • "I can't afford it. I really want to, but it's just too expensive." I actually told a guy that he can't afford not to. Look at 28
your bank statement and you will find out what you value. Most people have deceived themselves into thinking they cannot afford personal training or a gym membership. Spend the $. Being healthy and feeling and looking good is priceless. Finally, do these two things and determine if you can confront the real problem we all face: ourselves. Make a list of excuses you use and make a log of where you spend your time and how long. Call me today for a free trial session!

Indiana Women in Need Foundation Gives Breast Cancer Patients the Strength to Endure It was a somber day in 1998 when Nancy Shepard’s best friend and nursing colleague, Ellen, informed Nancy that she had breast cancer. Being the extraordinary friend that she is, Nancy traveled through this life altering journey with her friend from the surgical room through her recovery from a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. As the anesthesiologist initiated the IV to Ellen, she slowly turned to Nancy and shed a small tear fearing the uncertainty of her future. It was then that Nancy made the commitment to helping women with breast cancer. Nancy originally thought she would create a fundraiser and give the proceeds to an existing breast cancer program but the survivor’s thought otherwise. As one survivor said, “so much money goes to finding a cure, and although we want one, we need help now... while we are in treatment!” Nancy listened to their challenges hearing how the fatigue from treatment disrupts families and compromises a woman’s daily life. Spouses suddenly take on unfamiliar tasks of preparing meals for the family, cleaning the house, doing laundry, getting the children to/from school and maintaining bedtime rituals while still trying to work and provide financially for the family. Single women struggle to maintain daily work responsibilities and fear job losses. Families no longer live nearby as children move away seeking better job opportunities. Nancy saw the need to bring back the “neighbor next door” support system of the 1950’s. In researching existing programs Nancy learned that there were no organizations that provided individualized support to a patient going through treatment.
women annually throughout the state. The youngest recipient is 18 and the oldest 90 years young. Many women are of a very low socio economic community and often the I.W.I.N. Foundation is the only resource to provide assistance.
Nancy Shepard, Founder
In 2004, I.W.I.N.’s signature fundraising event, the overnight Pink Pajama Party was launched. The funds raised at this annual event provide the grant funding needed to support the individualized services for patients. The 9th annual Pink Pajama Party will be held February 22, 2013 at the Marriott located at Keystone at the Crossing. The evening features a night of pampering with local businesses providing spa and salon services to an estimated 350 attendees that include survivors, their family and friends. There is a delicious dinner with an exciting silent auction. The next morning includes a breakfast program with Master of Ceremonies, Ann Marie Tiernon. What do you Want More Of? Well, it’s the beginning of 2013. I don’t know about you, but it’s really hard for me to believe it’s the beginning of another year. I guess that comes with turning 55 years old. For most, it’s also a time of reflection. Last year, I achieved some of my goals; some I didn’t. Most importantly, as I look back, I know how very blessed I am. Yes, it’s that time of the year for reflection. I advise those I mentor to take time for themselves and truly assess where you are in your life and where are you going. What do you want more of? Happiness, health, love, time, money, freedom, peace, power, fun, purpose, faith, gratitude? And how would your life be different if you had what you most wanted? How are you going to get it? Throughout 2013, I plan to bring you my thoughts and suggestions on how to create more of what you are looking for. It’s part of what we do with Women Changing Lives. It's time to stop living in the world of woulda, coulda, shoulda... it's time to reexamine and sharpen the saw. It's time to make a change.
In February, we will talk about happiness. I believe real happiness comes from within. One of the best books I’ve ever read that addresses this is Happy for No Reason by Marci Shimoff. Pick it up and read it before next month’s issue…you’ll be glad you did. So what does all this have to do with Women Changing Lives? We specialize in training, supporting and mentoring professionals to create permanent financial satisfaction and generate purpose-driven lives. We have come together to fulfill our individual dreams and ambitions. We partner with a billion dollar, debt free company with a oneof-a-kind business model. Contact me for the details. I have nothing to sell you, only the facts and truth to give you. Come see how Women Changing Lives can help you change your life.
