stations in his salon. A client, Heidi Milward had brought her son Bobby to the salon for a haircut one day. Bobby was fascinated with a hockey stick a customer had left in the salon many months before. Martino noticed his love of the hockey stick and told him he could have it.
Months passed before Milward returned
to the salon. The day she did return, Martino could tell something was very wrong. It turned out her son, Bobby, had been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and was given only two months to live. Martino felt compelled to help out. Although he didn’t have the money to donate anything to Bobby’s mom, he did have the foresight and energy to raise money with a cut-a-thon. For two days, Martino cut hair and Martino Cartier, Alex Ramos and Taylor Swift.

cut more hair, and cut and cut and cut until $20,000 was raised. All checks were made out to Milward, and all proceeds went directly to her. It was precisely enough to grant her wish to take a leave from work and spend her time at home with her son. “The $20,000 paid her mortgage for two years to the day (of Bobby’s death). Because of that one effort, Bobby was able to have his mom everyday for two years.” And Martino was taught the lesson of his life: that you only get what you give away. It’s the age-old biblical verse, “you reap what you sow.” Only, for Martino, it meant enough to make it his theme for life. Martino is part of a divine network.
It’s a network which works on the
principle that the more you give, the more you gain and the harder you try, the more fruitful your efforts will become. Ever since the cut-a-thon, we find Martino in a hairdresser’s whirlwind complete with magazine-worthy

It was then that Jacob decided to dedicate his Valentine’s Day red carpet fashion show to Martino and his charities. It was also the day he decided “Saint Martino” should have a cover story to help spread the word about his life-changing work. INOE VARGAS In his native town of Playa Azul, Mexico, where he was born in 1969, Inoe showed an early interest for the arts when he entered a sand sculpting contest in his home town, gaining him honorable mention. In 1985, after coming to the United States, he pursued his life long dream of the fine arts, particularly sculpting. At the age of 19, he first began to exercise his talent at a ceramics shop sculpting animal figurines. He later began working for the Walt Disney Company as a prop maker for their shows and parades. After a memorable 8 years working with Disney, he became a freelance prop designer with C.J. Matsumoto & Sons, Inc.

Marley Munroe announces herself as a force to be reckoned with each time she steps on stage. Whether on the main stage at the 2014 LA Pride Festival, or popular music venues such as New York City’s Rockwood Music Hall or Los Angeles’ Hotel Cafe – Marley’s voice is all at once powerfully dynamic, penetratingly sultry and gently vulnerable. The moment her song begins, you can’t take your eyes off of her. With her colossal vocal talent and outsized charisma - along with her natural songwriting ability, Marley transitions easily between contemporary-soulful and edgy alternative songs without sacrificing an ounce of authenticity. She may sound like the second coming of Gladys Knight, but Marley refuses to be pigeonholed as a soul singer. “My sound marries the different parts of who I am. I love bands like MUSE and Coldplay, but I also listen to Billie Holiday and Donny Hathaway. My music brings those loves together. I don’t want to be straight-up any one thing because I have so many different influences. I love big, epic, stadium songs. But I don’t know how to do pop without the soul.” As
a
BMG/Chrysalis
songwriter,
Munroe’s
collaborators include some of the music industry’s most prolific writers, including Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Justin Gray, Rob Kleiner, Mateo Laboriel, The Monsters, Chris Braide, Trevor Lawrence, London Police, The Heavyweights and Chris Seefried. In May 2014, Anastacia released
MARLEY MUNROE
a much- anticipated comeback album, which features two of Marley’s songs: Staring At The Sun & I Don’t Want To Be The One. Marley is currently working on an EP that features original material that she is proud to share. She is also scheduling live engagements into 2015.
