Wellness is a term used to define the physical, emotional, financial, occupational, and mental health of an individual. Wellness encompasses all aspects of an individuals life and refers to the nature in which we live. Wellness focuses on the amount of joy and fulfillment we receive from living, and things we can do to continuously improve our experience.

IMPROVING OUR PHYSICAL WELLNESS Exercise, nutrition, and healthy habits encompass the essentials of what it means to practice physical wellness. Remembering to balancing these with your body’s need for rest is also incredibly important. Our bodies are intelligent, and learning to listen to their cues and needs can lead to a better mind/body relationship and healthier lifestyle choices.

IMPROVING OUR INTELLECTUAL WELLNESS Practicing Intellectual Wellness means growing and expanding your mind through mentally stimulating and often creative activities like puzzles and brain teasers. Keeping abreast of current events, learning new skills, and reading diverse materials will all keep your mind active and healthy.

IMPROVING OUR OCCUPATIONAL WELLNESS

Occupational Wellness involves engaging in motivating and fulfilling work that goes beyond employment, participating in activities that provide meaning and purpose and reflect personal values, interests, and beliefs.

IMPROVING OUR SPIRITUAL WELLNESS Spiritual Wellness goes beyond religion. It involves a person’s morals, ethics, and perceived purpose in life. Finding meaning in life can create an inner sense of peace and wellbeing while practicing mindfulness can develop your spiritual life no matter your beliefs.

IMPROVING OUR FINANCIAL WELLNESS

There are many viewpoints on what it means to be financially well. No matter the school of thought, however, Financial Wellness encompasses several aspects of monetary intelligence including income, debt, savings, lifestyle satisfaction, and a genuine understanding of financial processes and resources.

IMPROVING OUR EMOTIONAL WELLNESS

Emotional Wellness measures our ability to navigate our emotions and express our feelings in a healthy manner, to adjust to emotional challenges, cope with external and internal stressors, and accept ourselves as we are.
