Local Climate Chengdu has a monsoon-influenced humid subtropical climate and is largely mild and humid. It has four distinct seasons, blessed with abundant rainfall, and relieved from both sweltering summers and freezing winters. The 24-hour daily mean temperature in January is 5.6 °C , and snow is rare but there are a few periods of frost each winter. The summer is hot and humid. The 24-hour daily mean temperature in July and August is around 25 °C . 气候条件 成都属于亚热带季风性湿润气候，一年大部分时间天气温和潮湿。四季分明，雨 量充沛，夏少酷热，冬少严寒。1 月日常平均气温为 5.6℃，冬季少雪且冰冻天 气极少。夏季炎热湿润。每年 7 到 8 月日常平均气温为 25℃。

Overview This first phase consists of a seven-story terraced retail mall and a 60-story office building. We designed all of the open spaces for the project including the streetscape, retail mall terraces, main plazas, arrival courts, and all on-structure courtyard spaces. 项目概况 第一期工程包括一座 7 层高的阶梯式购物中心和一 栋 60 层高的办公大楼。该项目的所有开放空间都 由 AECOM 设计完成，包括街道景观、零售商城、 主广场、入口花园及所有在建的庭院空间等。

Harmony with Architecture Our design concept seamlessly reflects the mall’s architecture. The building’s rigid façades are reflected with clean lines that then flow into more fluid forms as the building façade shifts to curvilinear terraces. Leaf shaped forms create planters and seating on the ground, with green trellises curving around the terrace-facing side of the plaza. As part of the team’s long-term sustainable design, the retail roof features green space for the dual purpose of increasing the usage of outdoor spaces and decreasing the building’s energy demands.
Waterscape The design provides a wide range of activities and programs to attract visitors as they shop, dine, and play. The main entrance includes a playful water feature for hot summer days, as well as seating that faces a large LED screen. The landscape not only enhances visitor experience, but increases the value to retailers, commercial and residential tenants, and the surrounding neighborhood.
A New Core Area Shortly after Phase 1 opened in 2012, the retail and office spaces became 100% leased. According to the client, the mixed-use lifestyle center expresses an impressionable central business district and new sense of Western urbanism that appeals to Chengdu’s influx of young, active professionals. By the grand opening, the client already acquired additional land to significantly increase the scope of the project by expanding to Phases 2, 3, and 4. 与建筑协调 我们的设计理念完整体现了购物中心的建筑风格。建筑硬朗的立 面通过简洁的线条来展现，随着建筑立面转向波浪形的露台，更 多流畅的形式被加入进来。首层的花槽及座位都被打造成树叶的 形状，围绕广场一边的露台立面再配以绿色弧形花架。作为团队 可持续设计的一部分，零售商场屋顶修建的绿色空间既能增加户 外空间的利用率，也降低了建筑的能耗，可谓一举两得。 水景 设计涵盖各种活动及项目，吸引游客前来购物、用餐以及休闲娱 乐。主入口有一个互动喷泉，每到夏日，人们可在这里戏水消暑， 还有面对大型 LED 屏幕而设的座位区。景观不仅增强了游客体 验，同时还为零售商、商户、住宅租户以及周边社区带来了更多 价值收益。 新城市中心 2012 年首期项目开业后不久，零售商铺及办公室即被出租一空。 根据客户的要求，该综合生活时尚中心将成为一个极具影响力的 中央商务区，以新鲜的西方城市生活吸引成都的年轻群体。随着 首期的盛大开业，开发商已取得更多土地，通过扩展第二、三及 四期，大幅增加项目规模。

Local Climate Shenzhen is situated in the subtropical part of China, located at about the Tropic of Cancer, yet due to the Siberian anticyclone, has a warm, monsoon-influenced, humid subtropical climate. Winters are mild and relatively dry, due in part to the influence of the South China Sea, and frost is very rare; it begins dry but becomes progressively more humid and overcast. 气候条件 深圳地处中国的亚热带地区 , 位于北回归线附近。然而由于受西伯利亚高气压和季 风影响 , 深圳具有热带气候温暖、湿润的特征。受南海的影响，这里冬天温暖且相 对干燥 , 少雾；起初虽然干燥，但会日渐变得潮湿和阴霾。

Experiential Water Landscape A new water recycling technology will cite natural water in Xin'an Lake to build a 5,400 m 2 experiential waterscape. The landscape nodes include the largest waterfront stylebar in Shenzhen, man-made waterfall, laser fountains, bridges, etc. “Water” as the soul element goes around the buildings, blending with the façades with a blue tone to achieve a perfect integration of natural ecology and commerce. At night, a variety of lighting shine on water gives a stunning visual effect like a fairy tale kingdom. 体验式水域景观 应用全新水体再循环技术，引新安湖自然水体打造 5400 ㎡ 体验式水景，景观节点主要有深圳最大的特色水岸风情酒 吧街、人造瀑布、激光喷泉、小桥流水…… 以“水”灵魂设计元素，让灵动水景环绕遍布建筑，与建 筑相融相释，配合柔滑的蓝色主基调建筑外立面，达到自 然生态与商业的完美融合。夜晚，多种灯光与水交错辉映， 呈现瑰丽震撼的视觉效果，宛如走入童话王国。

Local Climate Chiang Rai has a tropical wet and dry climate. Winters are fairly dry and warm. Temperatures rise until April, which is hot with the average daily maximum at 34.9 °C. The monsoon season runs from late April through October, with heavy rain and somewhat cooler temperatures during the day, although nights remain warm. Simple and Natural Materials The landscape design encapsulates the mountainous scene surrounding the site through the interpretation of the northern mountainous contour line characteristic. The contour pattern is reflected in the stark pavement pattern and the shape of undulating flower mound, step, seats, water cascade. Simple local materials like sandwash and terrazzo are used to construct the pavement and the fluid seat respectively. Their flexible nature makes constructing natural form possible. 简单自然的材料 广场上的景观设计通过融合场地北边山脉轮廓的特 征，将周围的山脉风景融入景观中。鲜明的地面铺装、 波浪起伏的花丘、台阶、座椅、水瀑都与山脉轮廓相 呼应。砂石和水磨石等简单的当地材料分别用于修建 人行道和流线型座椅。这些材料灵活自如的属性能营 造出充满自然感的空间。

Local Plants Selection of native plants further enhances t h e n o r t h e r n a t m o s p h e re a s w e l l a s corresponding to regional ecology. Red Silk Cotton tree – locally known as Ngiew Tree – is the main feature. It is majestic in form and famous for its flower as an ingredient in traditional delicacy. During January to March, Ngiew’s bright orange flower blooms in profusion and is accompanied by orange flowers of Trumpet Vine which covers the wall on the façade and other flowering shrubs on ground. 植被设计 本土植物的选用进一步提升了北方气息，并使局部生态 得到改善。木棉，当地人称之为 Ngiew 树，是主要植被。 木棉之所以如此有名，是因为它的花可作为当地一道传 统美食的原材料。每年 1 月到 3 月，橙黄色的木棉花热 情绽放，与楼宇立面满墙的橙色凌霄花以及地面上其他 花丛一起，交相辉映。

Artistic Sculptures Shma’s collaboration with world renowned local earth artist, Master Somluk Pantiboon, is resulting in a series of 5-piece sculpture floating over cascading water feature. Placed as focal point of the landscape, the ceramic sculpture is depicting the life cycle of "Ngiew flower" from budding to blooming to withering. 艺术雕塑 Shma 与 世 界 著 名 的 当 地 地 景 艺 术 家 Master Somluk Pantiboon 合作，共同创作了浮动在水景上的五座雕塑。 这些陶塑被放置在显眼的位置，描绘着木棉花从含苞到绽 放再到凋谢的生命过程。
