BE THE ECHO Chris Denham Hope City Academy Director
Hope City Academy is a one year course (with an optional second year) it’s all about equipping you to take hold of the God-given destiny that lies within you. We want to help you to build a strong, firm foundation for your life so that throughout life and ministry you feel equipped to “walk worthy of the calling with which you were called”. The lectures, practical application and assignments are all designed to help equip you as a leader your character, integrity, personal gifting, confidence, faith and excellence with practical training for leadership and ministry.

Dave Gilpin Hope City Academy President
If you pray for a boat, God will give you a tree. The power of God supplies the tree, the ‘Art of Leadership’ carves the boat from that tree. This generation needs both - demonstrations of God’s power in every sphere of life, and Christians who rise into the fullness of their leadership potential. Leaders aren’t born, they are made. Hope City Academy exists to draw out of you and place within you everything you need to maximise your impact upon the planet. This is not a ‘gap year’, it’s an investment year - crucial for everyone who wants to leave a legacy for generations to come.

Academy training and electives take place over three days each week, enabling you to work part-time for your own personal income. Lectures are based in Sheffield and the practical electives take place either in Sheffield or your home location.
INTRODUCTION
WEEKLY LECTURES Receive teaching from a wide variety of leaders who have all had proven ministry experience in their key subjects. Throughout the year there will also be a number of specialised Masterclasses from guest speakers.
CHAPEL Take part in weekly chapel meetings and daily devotions. Keeping focused on the purpose that God has placed you here for is one of the most important keys to you growing and developing as a leader. These times also give students a chance to worship together in a unique community, away from the busyness of weekend services.
5
WEEKEND SERVICES Help make your home church happen throughout the week outside of elective time. The weekend service is the flagship event for any church and your involvement in helping it run seamlessly is one of the most important training grounds.
NATIONAL CONFERENCES Throughout the year there will be a number of conferences for all ages and demographics of church life that you will be a part of facilitating. There is a huge amount of work that goes into putting on a successful conference and you will have an opportunity to be part of that process, learning key skills such as team work, team leading and managing responsibilities and deadlines along the way.
ASSIGNMENTS & PRACTICAL As a vocational course Hope City Academy combines both practical and academic learning as we believe that increasing your knowledge and skillbase is vital in growing your capacity.
