his wondrous island is just a 20km boat ride from Nha Trang. Its name was derived from the monkey inhabitants whose population now totals 1,200. Though the majority are domesticated and friendly, it is not uncommon to see these energetic creatures snatch food from visitors. That said, it is also great fun to watch the monkeys perform agile movements in the monkey shows. Traditional folk dance is a large part of Yunnan’s culture. With every festive season, locals can be seen on the streets with joyous songs and dance. The Dai people especially, have a unique dance that mimics the peacock’s behaviors and is notable for its flowy dance movements, as to them, the peacock symbolizes beauty, luck and happiness. 02
Get involved in these popular dances with the friendly locals! The elephant foot drum locally made with hollowed logs covered in sheep or python skin is usually used as a dance accompaniment. 融合風情各異的少數民族，雲南成為最多元化的 中國城市。「雲南十八怪」形容多個僅在雲南出現 的新奇現象，如「和尚可以談戀愛，談情說愛用歌 代」，指的就是雲南與東南亞國家接壤及少數民族 的行為等，十分有趣。 The eighteen oddities are a written collection of unusual customs and regional attractions that are unique and represent Yunnan’s cultural cluster. The list has been changed and edited throughout the years and while there is not an official list, some amusing facts from the text still remain; such as ‘bamboo hats used as rice or wok covers’ and ‘the same clothes are worn throughout the year’.

Although all outfits are brightly colored and sewn with intricate designs and patterns, the creative handiwork is actually a representation of the minority group to which the women belong. Till today, many locals prefer to be dressed in traditional clothing to show pride for their individual culture.

了攀登雪山之外，玉龍雪山景區亦有精彩的演出活動。《印象．麗江》 演出分成6個部分，由茶馬古道中的馬幫開始談起，再慢慢細說這座美麗 雪山上的傳說。紅土砌成的山道是故事的舞台，以雪山實景作襯托，藍天 白雲下的紅磚灰石，穿插其中的歌劇和舞蹈把雲南本土文化及少數民族的 生活維妙維肖地呈現眼前。歷時1小時的歌舞使觀眾不知不覺間陷入雪山 傳說中的魅力。表演結束後，歌聲依然縈繞在耳邊，讓人久久不能忘懷。

uring Winter, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain not only offers a picturesque spot for mountaineering in the snow but also makes a magnificent backdrop for outdoor performances. Lijiang Impressions is a cultural performance showcasing the different traditions and lifestyles of local ethnic groups living in Old Lijiang town. The performance is made up of 6 parts which tells the story of the Ancient Tea Horse Road while highlighting the traditions of the different ethnic groups along the route. The Yunnan story is told through a lively combination of singing, acting, dancing, horse-riding and drumming with over 300 local performers dressed in their respective ethnic costumes. A highly engaging and entertaining performance, Lijiang Impressions is not to be missed by travelers wishing to get an in-depth perspective of the region.

過演出後，不妨到 附近的藍月谷參 觀。山谷 是月亮的形狀，因此被稱為藍月谷。雪山的冰 水 沿着河流流入山谷之中，形成玉液湖、鏡潭湖、藍 月湖和 聽濤湖 4個 小湖。由於湖之間有不同的高 低 差，因此 小瀑布 隨處可見。湖 水中的化合 物 令 其產生藍 綠 色，雖令生物無法生存，但使湖 水 變 得更為清澈澄明。碧藍如黛的湖水加上雪山的景 色，說這裏是 人間仙景亦不為過。在 欣賞美景之 餘，遊客除了可租借民族服飾，亦可付費跟牧民飼 養的牦牛和老鷹合照，成為少數民族的一分子。

fter the Lijiang Impressions Show, head to Blue Moon Valley for another spectacular sight. From a distance, the mountainous valley resembles the shape of a crescent moon formed by surrounding snow-capped mountains. The view is further beautified by the icy water which flows from the mountain and through the valley to form four smaller lakes. It is no wonder Blue Moon Valley attracts so many visitors! Other than waterfalls, there are rock terraces upstream making it the perfect spot for photos. During rainy season, the usually clear blue waters turns into white from the white mud and limestone rubble that mixes into it. That is why the locals also call it the White Water River!

CYCLING THROUGH KYUSHU IN A FORTNIGHT 眾 所周知，日本的交通費昂貴得買 tour through Kyushu flashed across my 張鐵 路通票亦佔去旅費的一大部分。 要 是 想不依 賴公 共交通工具，大多數 旅客 都會選擇自駕遊。作為一個沒有 駕照的窮遊 旅者，心頭突然冒起以單 車 環 遊九州的想法，便不能自拔地陷 入這趟冒險之旅。 抱 着 計 劃 趕 不 上 變 化 的 態 度，在 出 發 前 只 計 劃 了大 概 的 路 線。由 福 岡 出 發，經 由 布 院 和 宮 崎 南 下 至 鹿 兒 島，再 到 天草 及長 崎 北 上回福 岡。沒 有 萬全的準備，帶上一股 探索未知 的 渴求，爬 過 無 數 斜 坡、曾經 迷 路和 彷 徨、甚 至 閃 過 一 絲 放 棄 的 念 頭 ⋯ ⋯ 在 萬分驚 險中騎行了14天，完 成了共 1,044公里的路程。 掀開下一頁，在寒 冷的冬日開始 一 場 熱血沸騰的單車之旅吧！

ith the ever-soaring public transport expense in Japan, many travelers have switched over to selfdriving tours. One day, the idea of a bike
mind. As a budget traveler without a driving license, this split-second whim was so appealing that I wanted to make a headlong start at once!
It would be near impossible to have a perfectly planned itinerary, so armed only with a rough plan, I took off from Fukuoka. My first stops were at Yufuin and Miyazaki before taking the southbound route to Kagoshima. Thereafter, I swung north for Amakusa and Nagasaki and cruised back to Fukuoka, completing a 14-day round trip totaling 1,044 km. It was quite a challenge to cycle up numerous hills while getting lost several times. At one point, I even thought of discontinuing the trip but I persevered and was rewarded by beautiful views. The next few pages record my passion-fueled expedition, which I hope will inspire you to embark on your own journey.

Floral Village, 由布院 Yufuin Floral Village 市區的道路縱橫交錯，離開福岡 市也用了好些時間。本想一口氣 騎14 0多公里直達由布院，可是 沒 頭 沒 腦 地 攀 過 2 0 0 多米高 的 八木山後，心有餘而力不足之下 只好把路程砍半，在行橋市找家 網吧睡一宵再繼續行程。別小看 日本的網吧，有些備有躺椅的房 間及公用浴室，絕對是窮遊日本 之選。 除了翻山越嶺外，隧道亦是一大 挑戰。依靠微弱的車頭燈前進， 身邊 一 輛 又一 輛 的汽 車 呼 嘯而 過，偶爾一兩輛大貨車足以使人 驚嚇得魂不附體。甫騎進由布院 市街，人聲鼎沸的街道頓時把一 路上儲起的靜謐瞬間打破。跟一 般的日式街道不同，由布院市街 瀰漫着歐洲氣息，市街裏的由布
院Floral Village更是模仿全世界 最美麗的英國村莊 — 科 斯 沃。村莊內的多個小動物園區更 把現場童話氛圍昇華。 After wandering for quite some time in the maze of zigzag roads in urban Fukuoka, my stamina failed to get me to my first destination, Yufuin, in one stretch after inadvertently cycling up the 200m high Yakiyama Mountain. Thus, I had to stop halfway and stay overnight at an Internet cafe equipped with bathroom and accommodation facilities. Traversing rugged hilly areas and navigating dimly lit tunnels
on my own turned out to be extremely challenging. I soldiered on until the familiar thoroughfare bustle ushered me into Yufuin’s famous distinctive European vibes. My spirits lifted as I made my way to the Floral Village mirrored after the world’s most beautiful village - the Cotswolds in the United Kingdom. It’s great fun to explore the petting zoo in this fairyland setting.

騎行的首 數 天 是 讓 身 體習慣
長 時 間 運 動 的日子，恰 巧 也 騎 過 全 程 最 艱 辛 的 路 段。每 天 基 本上都要攀爬一座山，最高曾登 上800多米的山峰，當到達高千 穗，因長達17米的真名井瀑布而 聞名日本 的 國 家 級名 勝 — 高 千 穗 峽 絕 對 是 必 訪 之 處。沿 着 陡 斜 的「之 」形 馬 路 步 行 至 峽 谷，傾 瀉 在 兩 峽 之 間 的 幼 長 瀑 布 隨 即 映 入 眼 簾。當 陽 光 穿 透 樹 蔭 照 射 在 水 面 時，汨 汩 流 水 染成翠綠色，自然景觀的魅力中 令人不知不覺地忘記疲憊。 高千 穗 神 社在每 個 晚 上皆有 神 樂表演。表演8時開始、歷時1小 時，開 始 前10 分 鐘 已經 充 滿 席 地 而 坐 的 人 群。表 演 開 始 前 先 作 簡 介，神 社 亦 貼 心 地 供 有 單 張解釋表演內容大要，所以不懂 日文也不成問題。在鼓樂的配合 下眾神 載 歌 載 舞，還 會 跟 觀 眾 互動，令表演生色不少。

I enjoyed a truly spectacular view of the descending torrent against a backdrop of dense green
vegetation

surrounding grey cliffs. An hour-long traditional Yokagura dance performed each evening at 8pm in Takachiho Shrine. After a brief introduction in Japanese, the choreographers dressed as deities danced to the strong rhythm of drums and flutes and interacted with the audience, livening up the mood of the gathering. I thoroughly enjoyed the show and soon put behind the fatigue a hard day out biking. Language is not a problem as leaflets in either English or Chinese giving an overview of the show are available for foreign tourists.

日之影町 Hinokage 抱着 到日之 影 町 浸 泡 免 費 足 湯 的 念 頭 一 鼓 作 氣 地 爬 升 2 0 0米 的 斜 坡，發 現 相 較 前 數 天 已 經 沒 那 麼 吃力；騎 着 騎 着 經 過了 偶 來 小 徑，還 能 順 道 俯 瞰 高 千 穗 的 丘 陵 之 景。在 爬 升 後 便 是 一 路 下 坡，到 達 日之 影 町 並 把 自行車安置 好 後 便 滿 心 歡 喜 地 跑 向 足 湯。殊 不 知 門 前 貼 了一 張 醒 目 的 黃 色告 示，雖 不 諳 日 語，但看見「足湯」、「休止」兩 組 漢 字 也 明 白了個 大 概。眺 望 綠林美 景同 時 紓 緩 雙 腳 疲 憊 的 幻 想 泡 沫 當 場 破 滅，只 好 窺 視 一下改 造 成宿泊 設 施 的 TR列車 便繼續行程。
Nudged by the temptation to try the free footbath at Hinokage Onsen Station as well as getting a panoramic view of the Takachiho course on the way, I pulled myself together to pedal up a 200m slope. Surprisingly, the climb was less demanding than the previous tracks.

崎 縣 蘊 藏着 令人 意 想 不 到 的驚喜。既有傳統的神話色彩， 亦有活力充沛的海岸風情。沿着 海邊騎行，景色一直變換。越漸 接 近日南 市，聳 立 路 旁 的 棕 櫚 樹 和 綿 延千里 的 海岸 線 交 織出 異國樂曲，讓人有置身於熱帶島 嶼 的 錯 覺。在 海 風 的 吹 拂 下 哼 着 歌，經 過 一 個 又一 個 宮 崎 獨 有 的自然奇 觀 — 因砂 岩在 海 浪長 年 累月 的沖刷 層 層 堆 疊而 成的鬼之洗濯板，令人反覆驚嘆 大自然的神奇力量。 去鵜戶神宮之前，先在附近的餐 廳 吃午飯。餐 廳 老 闆 得 知 我 騎 單 車 環 遊 九州便 興奮 地介 紹 附 近 的 景 點，並 在 步 行 到 鵜 戶 神 宮 前 着 我 把 單 車 放 在 店 外。先 走 過 數 條 崎 嶇 不 平 的 石 級，再 穿過 一 條小 隧 道才到 達 鵜戶神 宮。神 宮 本 殿 處 於 向 海 的 洞 穴 裏，朱紅色的神社跟深灰色的岩 石形成強烈的對比。洞窟內隱約 能聽見微弱的海浪聲，洞外還有 一 塊 龜 背 狀 的 石，據 說 把 運 玉 小 石扔中岩石 凹 陷 處便 能 願 望 成真！回去餐廳取自行車時，發 現老闆把自行車移到樹蔭下，並 裝了一碗冰水為我的水瓶保溫， 離 開 時更向我 招 手至 消 失 於 他 眼前。滿滿的人情味是日本一道 無可取代的風景。

aking advantage of the coastal tailwind along Miyazaki, I blithely steered my bike towards Nichinan, humming some spiritful tunes along the way. It was only when I saw the iconic Devil’s Washboard the stretch of sandstone layers lining the coast - that I knew I was getting closer to the most magnificent shrine in Miyazaki. The restaurant owner let me leave my bike outside the restaurant while I was away after a quick lunch before visiting Udo Shrine. It took me about half an hour to climb the rugged stone steps to get to the brightly painted shrine in a cave facing the sea. The long climb was definitely worthwhile as I was rewarded with a most stunning view of the sea. Do remember to buy some undamas (lucky balls) and throw them on the turtleshaped rock to make dreams come true. When I got back to the restaurant, I found my bike parked under a shady tree and my water bottle was placed in a basin of ice to keep the drinking water from the heat of the sweltering sun. All these niceties showcased how the Japanese value and care about their visitors from afar.

「最令人振奮的莫過於看見 一般旅遊行程中不會遇到的事物。 」
‘ The hidden spots that cannot be found in regular travel routine became my energy booster during the trip.’ 鹿兒島屋台村 Kagomma Furusato Yataimura 鹿 兒 島可 說 是 整個 旅程 的 轉 捩 點。連日的滂沱大雨跟之後幾天 曲折的路程令人不自覺地鬱悶起 來。傍晚坐在民宿的陽台，看着 窗外水簾正苦惱該如何是好時， 拿起手機準備搜尋攜帶自行車上 火車的資料，民宿的其他旅客邀 我一起到附近的屋台村吃晚飯， 便撂下電話跟他們一起出去了。 鹿兒島的屋台村是由25家小店組 成的夜市，走進「村內」，兩旁的 店家都熱情地邀我們入座，食客 的談笑聲不絕於耳，雨勢亦適時 地漸漸減弱。我們隨意地在一家 小店坐下，點了個火鍋跟啤酒酣 飲一回。 時間在談笑間悄然無聲地流逝。
隨着店舖要關門，對話亦因而被 迫作結。結帳時，他們突然說要 請客當作為我打氣。聽罷登時感 到受寵若驚，在他們的堅持下又 不好拒絕，便帶上他們的祝福繼 續上路。 Kagoshima marked the turning point of the tour. My fellow hostel lodgers invited me to join their dinner gathering and I followed them into Yataimura, a night market made up of about 25 eateries. We threaded through the lanes amid hearty laughter of customers and enthusiastic restaurant staff. We popped into a hotpot joint and fully
sampled the jovial and festival atmosphere of the place. Happy hour slipped by escaping our notice. Very soon, it was closing time. My dining companions insisted on giving me a treat and paid the bill. They hoped the dinner would lift my spirits. Loaded with their wishes, I fetched my bike and took to the road again.

往天草時要先從長島乘船約 40分鐘。攜帶單車上船須額外付 費，而且船員先要快手把單車固 定再為其他乘客引路，於是我便 成為了第一位登船的乘客。 再次沿着海邊騎行，馬路略多彎 位，每次轉彎都擔心會撞上迎面 而 來 的 車 輛，小 心 翼 翼 地 騎 行 的同時，視線亦不由自主地被景 色所吸引，在東張西望之時不禁 一再停下來拍下留意日本的「隱 藏 景 點」— 精 美而 富 有 地 區 色彩的坑渠蓋。騎向崎津漁村， 進 入小路 後 便 到 達 瞭望 大 海的 崎津天主教堂，這座深藏在民居 中的哥 德式教 堂在14世 紀的宗 教迫害中得以倖存，亦是日本唯 一 以榻 榻 米 鋪 地 的 教 堂。離 開 後不時回頭望，仍能看見教堂突 出地矗立在日式小平房之中。

etting onto the 40-minute ferry from Nagashima to get to Amakusa, a crewmember swiftly secured my bike in the parking area and ushered me to the passenger deck. Surcharge is necessary for bringing a bike. Once back on the bike, I rode gingerly along the winding coastal street, paying double

attention to the oncoming cars. That said, I still kept a watchful eye to spot the fanciful manhole covers and snapped a couple of shots of these ‘hidden tourist attractions’. I pedaled to the fishing village and branched off to a driveway leading to Sakitsu Catholic Church. Tucked away in the midst of Japanese cottages, this stately piece of Goethe architecture is a survivor of the anti-Christian persecution in the 14th century. It is also the only church in the country padded with tatamis, the traditional Japanese flooring mats. On leaving the island, I could not help turning back and casting a few glances from the opposite bank of the seashore at its pointed spire tower. 哥拉巴園 Glover Garden 在Google地圖的建議路線引領 下騎進了一條小路，景象越漸荒 涼，同時亦踏上滿鋪枯葉殘枝、 厚得踩一步也會陷入去的小徑。 以為柳暗花明又一村，怎料前方 竟有幾棵倒塌的大樹把去路完全 封 鎖，錯愕之餘更感無助，只好 黯然地回頭。 長崎是日本第一個對外國開放的 城市，市內隨處都是西洋風格的 建築。當中的哥拉巴園便是首位 外國商人在長崎居住的地方，亦 是舞台劇《蝴蝶夫人》的故事藍 本。長崎到處都是斜坡，連哥拉 巴園也不例外。要是乘車的話倒 是沒什麼，可是在長期騎行後再 走 上仿似看不 到 盡 頭 的 樓 梯 便 是另一回事了。花上比常人多一 倍的時間到達哥拉巴宅邸，走進 一間又一間展示了當年家具的房 子，在裏面花上一整個下午亦不 為過。 With the help of Google natigator, I veered into a walkway littered with thick foliage and branch fragments. The further I went, the more desolate the surroundings became. The illusion of seeing
light at the end of the tunnel was dashed when I stumbled on a couple of fallen trees blocking the way ahead so I had to head back, feeling very upset all the way. The cosmopolitan character of Nagasaki, the first Japanese city to open its doors to foreign trade, is readily evident in the many western style buildings straddling the streets. Standing a cut above others is Glover Garden which was built for Scottish merchant Thomas Blake Glover who made great contributions to Japan’s modernization, thanks in no small measure to Puccini’s opera ‘Madame Butterfly’. As if reflecting its hilly terrain, steps are everywhere in Nagasaki and Glover Garden is no exception. With sagging strength after a hard ride, I took more than the average time to climb the long flight of steps to reach the grand mansion and browsed its early western style furnishings. It was quite a fulfilling day out there.

興趣以單車作為交通工具旅行， 但又想走訪非熱門的旅遊點，離 長 崎市2 0 多公里 以諫早站作 為 起點的大村線便是不二之選。緊 貼海岸線的鐵路讓人有置身於海 中央的錯覺，猶如走進了《千與 千尋》的場景中，還會途經一個 充滿昭和風情的木造車站—「 千綿」站。光是在外圍騎行已經 讓我情不自禁地一次又一次停下 來拍下火車經過的場面，要是花 數小 時走一 趟 大 村 線 絕 對 讓你 感到不枉此行。 看見 再 次 出 現 在 路 牌 上 的「福 岡 」時，心 底 裏 有 股 熱 流 流 竄 着。喉嚨癢癢地，蠢蠢欲動地想 大喊出「我 騎了1,0 0 0多公里環 遊 九州 啊！」，生怕 被 路人 誤以 為 瘋子 便 只 好活生 生 地 把 這句 說話吞回肚子裏，化作動力拼命 騎回去。但當真正到達後，其實 已經不怎麼累，倒有點空虛，完 成目標 後心 頭 好 像 被 掏 走 一 塊 似的，同時亦難以相信自己真的 騎了1,044公里。
通常 會 被 問 道 未能 盡 覽各地 景 點 會否感到惋惜。可是，當各人 為 自己 設 定 旅 行 時 的 各 種「必 訪」時，而我的「必定」，便是必 定完成單車環遊九州。九醉溪、 阿蘇火山、熊本城等算是較易前 往的地方，可是倒塌 的大樹、滿 滿 的 人情 味 跟 無 數 的山路 帶來 的 挑 戰 跟 疲 憊，卻 是 一 個 個 無 法取代的寶貴經歷。

or wanderers who have their eye on less popular destinations, Chiwata Station on the Omura coastal line may be your cup of tea. This railway line connects Sasebo with Isahaya in Nagasaki Prefecture will take you through a time tunnel back to the Showa Period as curated by the wooden structure of Chiwata Station. I could not help holding back my bike time and again to take pictures of passing trains.
I was overwhelmed relief when the word Fukuoka reappeared on the road signs. I tried hard to suppress the urge to proclaim aloud the near completion of my 1,044 kmcycle feat. Every moment of my cycling tour were all part and parcel of a most vivid and uniquely personal travelogue in my heart, which I hope you enjoyed reading.

靈氣逼人 精靈出沒 愛古蹟又愛走一點點山路的人，必定會喜 歡 這個 景點。從鳥居的位 置開始 一直伸延 到神 社，路的 兩旁有多達一百多盞的燈，中間是一條布滿綠 色 青苔的台階。高聳 入雲的樹 木，微 涼的風從四面 八方吹來，充滿神秘色彩。一直拾級而上，會突然 出現一個光明的地方，該處便是擺設井井有條的 神 社，相 信 有人 經常整 理。抬 頭再望，會看 到 一 個 岩洞，遊 人可以從山路 一直往 上，經 過 最 陡 峭 的岩石部份，就可以看到頂端的美麗景觀。

erched deep inside a mountain-rimmed primitive forest, the Tha Pai hot spring area is made up of a dozen or so hot spring pickets connected together by a stream. Not only can visitors experience the amazing stress-relieving effect of a hot spring spa, they can also make ‘hot spring eggs’. Just buy a couple of eggs from the kiosk by the side of the spring and put them in a basket which is then lowered onto the water surface with the help of a long bamboo pole. It takes 15 minutes at most to boil the eggs, and they’re good to go!

A staple in Sichuan and Chongqing cuisines, Mala Hotpot can be traced back to the Song Dynasty almost 700 years ago! The piquant soupbase, lavishly interspersed with dried chilli peppers, is made from a variety of spices to give a hot, numbing sensation on the taste buds.
Sukiyaki is a Japanese hotpot of which soup base features a mixture of soy sauce and mirin. The ingredients typically include thinly sliced beef, mushrooms and tofu which are then dipped in the soup before consumption. The somewhat weird ‘dipping sauce’ of beaten raw egg usually goes with the briefly cooked beef to give extra texture and flavor.

泰國早年開始流行一種把燒烤與火鍋混合的 新型火鍋。客人可隨自己喜好在中心的熱鐵板 上烤肉，或在旁邊的熱湯裏煮蔬菜及魚蛋。一 塊白滑的肥豬肉更是不可缺少的，除了能令烤 肉不會黏底，多餘的肉汁更會流回湯汁之中， 使整個湯底變得更濃稠美味。
Created after the Korean War, Budae-jjigae, which translates into ‘army base stew’, was originally made with leftovers such as ham, cheese and baked beans that were found on U.S. army base. Today, it is made more flavorsome with added ingredients such as instant noodles and kimchi. The texture from the ingredients makes this an irresistible dish amongst Korea locals.
This signature Thai dish cleverly combines Korean barbecue with traditional Chinese hotpot. Ingredients are cooked in the soup while meat pieces are grilled on the central plate. The soup base is made more flavorful by placing a chunk of pork fat in the middle of the grill which also keeps the meat from sticking to the plate.

Scallion pancakes are a traditional Taiwanese delicacy and Lao Pai has improved on this national favourite making it a must-try snack for anyone visiting Hualien. The scallion pancakes are made to order with a runny egg yolk in the center and a fresh, crispy outer layer. However, you can also chose to enjoy the pancakes on its own. The pancake is made flavorful with various sauces and chili. There is a limited number of pancakes sold each day, so it is no wonder there are always endless queues outside Lao Pai’s!

Dedicated to the God of Literature (Man) and the God of Martial Arts (Mo), the 150 year old Man Mo Temple now serves as a preserved historical site. Intricately decorated with emerald green and while tiles, particularly eye-catching are the big spiral incense coils hung around the temple. A cultural symbol of Hong Kong, the temple not only symbolises luck and protection but is a popular place for students to pray for good grades during the school year.

HK Express cares about our Guests’ health, safety and comfort onboard Safety first • Please read the safety instruction card in the back of each seat and pay special attention to our cabin crew during the safety demonstration at the beginning of each flight. • We value the comfort and safety of each of our Guests, including those with infants. All infants must be seated on the lap of an adult for the duration of the flight unless an additional seat has been purchased. Please be advised that your infant must however be strapped onto the adult’s lap with the infant seatbelt during takeoff and landing, and at any other time as instructed by the crew. • Laptops, Tablet and AV equipment must be switched off when the seatbelt sign is on. Guests are required not to use remote control or Bluetooth devices as they can interfere with the aircraft’s communications and navigation systems. • Loose items such as handbags or laptops must be stored underneath the seat in front or in the overhead lockers during take-off and landing.
No smoking • All HK Express flights are non-smoking. Please note that it is a criminal offence to smoke in any part of the aircraft. Your health & comfort • Try to walk around the cabin from time to time during your flight to encourage blood circulation, avoiding fatigue and muscle stiffness. • We would also recommend some simple stretching exercises every hour such as flexing your toes and raising your knees gently towards your chest. These exercises can potentially reduce the risks of blood clots in the legs, or deep vein thrombosis (DVT). • If you are prone to poor leg circulation, wearing specially designed flight socks or compression stockings can be extremely beneficial. • We recommend that our Guests try to minimize caffeine and alcohol consumption onboard to prevent health problems such as headaches, bloating and dehydration. Drinking water and fruit juices are the best options to keep your body suitably hydrated.
