HNC ANIMAL MANAGEMENT If you have a passion for working with animals, and wish to secure the necessary knowledge and skills required to work within the animal industry, then the Higher National Certificate in Animal Management is the right course for you. Packed with lots of work experience opportunities, this qualification makes you an ideal candidate for a variety of animal management job roles. The course is well suited to those who currently work in the industry and would like to further develop their skills, knowledge and understanding to progress within this sector. You will be entrusted with a diverse range of responsibilities in the day-to-day technical and practical management of our animal centre. This includes working with a plethora of exotic species, who reside in our specialist enclosures, like our NEW tropical house. You will work with endangered species, such as: armadillos, potoroos, Bali starlings and more. Whilst caring for these animals, you will too be contributing to global conservation programs! Students will have equal opportunities to work with our domestic animals, for example, alpacas, giant rabbits and Nubian goats, whilst also working with our on-site kennels and Blue Cross Rehoming Centre and Day Boarding Dog Kennels. Lectures will be the core component of the course structure. This will be heavily blended and reinforced with group work, practical sessions, workshops, laboratory work, guest lectures from industry experts and independent research. You will have plenty of opportunities to implement theory knowledge and reinforce

practical techniques whilst on placement at Hopwood Hall College. You will be taught over a period of three days a week, which will include all lectures and practical sessions. The academic staff lecturing on the course are well versed in a broad range of zoological and veterinary topics, and hold a vast amount of vocational experience within the animal management field, including a veterinarian and former zoo professional. Our strong industry insight allows lecturers to draw upon personal experiences to provide relevant examples in order to give lecture content reallife applications.
