HND (Year 2)
If you wish to work in the games industry, then this is the course for you. Units focus on the creative art and design elements that are considered fundamental to games development. When undertaking practical assessments, you are expected to perform to an industry standard and use your own initiative to research required topics. The programme is designed to prepare you for employment in the exciting world of games development and related industries such as visual effects. You will also undertake many industry related enrichment visits such as developer conferences to enhance your learning experience.

You will produce a professional portfolio showcasing high quality game ready assets, commercial ready game environments, content for VR all using the latest Autodesk, Algorithmic, Adobe software in conjunction with the Unity, UE4 game engines and more. There is also the opportunity for students to undertake work experience with local games companies. Career prospects Learners who achieve the HNC qualification can progress onto the second year of the HND or onto the second year of a relevant degree course. Upon completion of the 2-year HND; learners can top-up to a full degree in Games Art, Games Design and Visual Effects or other relevant subject area. Employment and selfemployment in the games/media sector is also an option and is an essential element of the course structure.
