A message from Horseware® Some years ago Horseware® launched the Amigo® brand. The initial idea was that this would be a value for money, entry level product range. We applied the famous Horseware® principles of quality and performance to this new brand and it has settled in the market place at a higher level with regards to perceived quality and value than originally intended. The market place had not realized the value of a water resistant blanket to conserve the quality of the horse’s coat and protect it against flies. How to Fit your blanket

The fit of your blanket is extremely important in order to ensure the comfort of your horse and to prevent rubbing and slippage of the blanket. As horses of the same height at the wither come in a variety of shapes and sizes, it is useful to take certain measurements of your horse. Measure from (A) at the center point of the chest, over the high point of the shoulder, and to (B) at the rear of the hind leg. Horseware® blankets (Rambo®, Rhino® and Amigo®) are sized in three inch increments. Rambo® Quarter Horse is sized in two inch increments. If you measure between sizes, round down for Rambo® blankets and measure up for Rhino®, Amigo® and Rambo® Quarter Horse blankets. When you have the measurement, choose the nearest from the table to the right.

Top Tips for Fitting your blanket - Belly surcingles should be adjusted to allow a hands width between straps and belly. - Keep in mind that the neck on the Rambo® Wug is a higher fit, therefore the neck and chest area will be a snugger fit. - The trigger clips on the patented ‘V’ Front Closure System should always be closed with the clasp facing inward. - Your hand should fit comfortably between the neck and shoulder areas and the blanket. If not, the blanket could cause discomfort and rubbing. - If the blanket extends beyond the top of the tail, the blanket may be too big. If the blanket does not reach the top of the tail, the blanket may be too small. However, examine the neck and shoulder area for fit before making a decision to go for a different size. - Make sure that the tail is lifted over the fillet strap and that the strap is securely attached on both sides. This will prevent the blanket from blowing forward. Where possible pull the tail through the strapping on the inside of the tail flap. - Horseware® uses standard 2 and 3 cross surcingles on all our blankets except for our coolers and the following products that use 3 straight surcingles - Rambo® Optimo, Amigo® Bug Buster™, Rambo® Flybuster™. - When closing the surcingles on a blanket secure the middle one first and then cross over the 2 outer surcingles.
